thanks, this makes the most sense. And a rumor that Si could be the generals daughter is prob a rumor because it was believed that he met Su Ke secretly at the temple and was having an affair.

So can someone spell out the timeline for me in this life. Are Si's brother and sister older than her, or younger? Because Su Ke was engaged to the general and then they had to break up and she married An Cheng. But she died right after Si was born. So those two kids must have come before. And evidently An Cheng was married to ? or engaged to the woman who became his sister in law, ( is it Yi?). They said it was 'annulled' , so I don't know if it'a marriage or engagement. The drama leads us to think that the general is actually Si's father, but he swears he never saw her again after he was married. And I don't think Su Ke was meant to have some kind of affair with the general after she's been married and given birth to the first two children.. And she wasn't alive after Si was born. What am I missing?

I think it was about the indignity of it. She refused to allow the humiliation. Altho she handled it so readily and used it to get that maid's info that I wonder if we're are also supposed to think she knew it was a possibility and planned for it?

I always thought it was odd just how aloof Prince Yan's mother could be to him.. Now I wonder if he's not really her son, she was always odd and uncomfortable about it?? If thats true, was there some kind of switch and perhaps Yan either has a more powerful mother making it clear for him to rise to the top in the end, or a more common mother making it easy for him leave the palace at the end with Si?

True, but mouthy people can bring instant death. It's only because the script needs her to live that she survives. I enjoy her straightforwardness, but honestly, I would prefer cunning cleverness as I could realistically accept she would make it through each time she rebukes a person with the power to kill her on the spot.

I've watched SO many dramas that started light hearted and had so much tragedy closer to the end. I rarely trust. And the set up is meant to be stressful.

I first saw him in Are you the One, and he whispered all through that. But I really like his voice and I like him a lot as well. He does action, drama, romance and comedy equally well.

I hate them to. I agree with someone else's comment about this having a similarity to Itazura na Kiss. This is a kinder, mush less OTT kind of story tho.

Then the best advice is not to watch historical dramas. Because the misogyny is in all of them, some much worse ( i.e. more realistic) than others. To ask the question in the first place is puzzling. If a person watch a period drama they should expect the story to show an example of what that period was like.

Yes, I was so disappointed in the way they handled the last sisters story. It left a bad taste in my mouth and made me not like the mother when I had grown to like her so much. She betrayed me also with the way she cruelly kicked him out. Misguided script writing imo. And their's was a romance I look forward to yhroughout the whole drama. He ended up a punching bag.... not fun to watch. But I did like the drama a lot.

imo yes... I still watched and enjoyed for the most part. There were parts that p*ssed me off haha. I really was impressed with the acting of the SML/

actually I think it does have angst. I watched this last year and it still sticks with me. At first I was put off because I don't care for CGI animals , but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did.

I don't dislike a FL character who is watching out for herself, who can be conniving without being harmful, who is dedicated to her plan and may even act a simpering fool for her plan.... but my patience for that behavior is perhaps one ep. haha.. I did keep watching and she dropped it soon after.:)

I understand... but I did feel each of the sisters stories had push and pull with trying to match wits with their partner. I feel thats essentially what this drama was about. These were beautiful , clever women so they weren't going to be "arranged" into a marriage, or sit back and be a non participant in the outwitting/push pull, but rather end up after working with theit perfect match. But I def. liked some sisters stories better than others:) I'm sure we all have our niche's and pet peeves. I respect yours:)
