Well, this sentence -> "but sci-fi has a meaning. It's not supposed to be fantasy." Isn't really in touch tho,…
I didn't say Wuxia was Sci Fi... it is not. I was pointing out that some people swallow a camel but strain on a gnat. I don't mean you. I understand your points, and they are well written. I found his leaping out silly, as I did the very, very long scenes of watching fruit flies mate or surgery on a mouse. This show has bigger problems than him jumping out to save her. We all know the intent of the writers to write that scene. It's another plot device you either suspend belief for or not. You can't, I understand. I personally didn't care about it, I can't feel moved by this show, it's done poorly. My reason for responding was actually because you said "but sci-fi has a meaning. It's not supposed to be fantasy."... and those are often genres that are mixed.. And Sci Fi doesn't have to have 'meaning' really. That's not a criteria. But now I am straining on a gnat:) Have a good day/night!
it doesn't say romance in the genre, but it could be added later...hopefully:). I really think when stars age…
Well, I always like romance.. I get it's not everyone's fav.. And because I like that genre I am sad that some of my fav romantic leads don't do romantic roles when they age. I can guess all the reasons why that happens, but I don't like it :) Edit: Also, that why I added the parenthesis with ( or they choose)... Because I understand, maybe they are thrilled they don't have to do romance anymore... Or perhaps their spouse is..:) Or they want to stretch their acting chops... happens all the time.. I just miss them in romance.
it doesn't say romance in the genre, but it could be added later...hopefully:). I really think when stars age they get relegated to ( or choose to do ) thrillers, business, spy, biographies , etc, or god forbid, parents of the newbie stars. I am not done seeing these men in romantic roles, actors like Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung, Cha Seung Won etc.
Episode 4 is not just asking me to suspend my disbelief, it's asking me to iron my brain, holy fucking shit. Yeah…
Well, this sentence -> "but sci-fi has a meaning. It's not supposed to be fantasy." Isn't really in touch tho, imo. Did you find Klingons realistic? Wookies? Teleporting, warp speed? Sci fi is not realistic docu type storytelling. They take artistic license all the time in Sci Fi movies and dramas. Even if we find it absurd to have him throw himself out into space to save her, I wonder why we are so accepting of people who can fly and walk on trees to save the damsel in distress in Wuxia dramas? Or get stabbed by a sword many times or fall of a cliff and still keep living? Because we are willing to suspend belief and just enjoy. I think the problem with this drama is it's pacing for the most part. It's a novel idea, and I like both the leads. I knew the 'cheating' story would unfold in a way that they wouldn't be cheating because SK writers aren't going to have these stars in this type of production be low lifes. I think the mouse operation was supposed to be the bonding between the two characters, but it was so OTT serious and way too long of a scene that it became silly and tiresome. The director is boring us, he has ingredients to make something different, but he's losing the audience. imo. I have only stuck with it so far because I like the two leads and I'm willing to give it a chance. I like all the actors, and there are many subplots that could go in unexpected ways. I appreciate the effort to try and give us a feel of the anti gravity, but you know, astronauts hair floats to, :) They are just keeping the actors nice looking, and I don't see anyone complaining about that, haha
Nothing has happened yet, but I am afraid that it doesn't matter how they handle it, it will be cheating one way…
yes, well said, and exactly ... haha.. The world is full of billions of people with different experiences. It's very rigid thinking to think a relationship and break up has to go a certain way. If they are characters we want to respect, they have to have some honor I think. That's the problem that's being created with this story and some viewers. But they are jumping on it with righteous indignation before anything happens. For me, like I said, once the break up is taken care of, they have done the honorable thing, their life is their own to do what they want with the time they're given.

True, people are complex. But it's 16 eps and I don't think they can fit in all the emo stuff needed for people to feel completely righteous if the characters move on after they broke up. I, oth, feel that if they have honestly broken up, that is what is required before you move on . It's sad I know ... but I'm not sure why we need to have perfect characters? Life isn't like that. People make mistakes, people learn and grow from their mistakes. Fiction and Non Fiction are rife with stories about imperfect people and the obstacles they face and how they handle them. That's what makes them interesting stories imo.
I don't like cheating in dramas, and I usually avoid any drama that has it. But this drama doesn't really have it .. yet... I'm willing to see how the writers handle this story. There are TONS of things that could happen. Yes, his character is apparently intrigued?captivated?attracted? to her.. If you say he's emotionally cheating.. that's just going to be a matter of opinion.. which we all have one, that's why we're here haha But I don't think so.. I've only see 2 eps so far.. I'm giving this drama a chance to see where it goes.
In what drama(s) is she portrayed to have strong sex appeal? Ive watched all her stuff since ruler of your world…
Agree, I feel in most of her dramas the ML's character falls in love with her because of her je ne sais quoi... They are drawn to her when they don't want to be.. Not that I've watched all of them, but many.
Also another thing that pissed me off was the hypocrisy.. they literally killed a poor mouse for a scene just…
That clearly was a CGI mouse... Also, I really like Gong Hyo Jin. The first time I saw her in a drama, I thought 'hmm, she's not too attractive ( like 12 yrs ago) I wonder why she got the lead?' But as I watched I understood. She has charisma, she's a good actress. People don't have to be attractive for someone to be drawn to them. There are many physically beautiful people who fall in love with people who are not because they have something that speaks to them. Just my opinion, not hate:)
Soon you will both love and root for them! Did you guys all meet the men in black or something and forget that…
I *think* what the person is essentially saying is ...> it's a part of this story. Let's see how it plays out.< ........ I don't think they are saying cheating it ok. If you watch a drama about a murderer, someone might comment about it saying 'give the story a chance, it might be well done and murder happens', but it doesn't mean they condone murder.
I've seen some spoilers online is it true that hes using sfl for money and is emotionally cheating on her with…
You'd have to watch it.. It gives the impression early on that he went to space to be able to marry into her rich family. As with many dramas, as the story unfolds, we see more of his real reasons and conditions. I think it's meant to be something that we will all find out truths as the story goes on. But, he is right now as of ep 2. definitely attracted to the commander. MORE SERIOUS SPOILER :We already know he doesn't love his fiancee, in fact he refuses to say those words to her, but he just decided he might as well marry for many reasons. Not mercenary imo.. In fact he saved her life, but her father felt he mismanaged her and has ruined his career, so he has no job now and living in a dump.
What you mentioned are probably EXCEPTIONS. But generally, bad initial episodes mean bad series. If producers…
Agree, I feel it's kind of a 'known' that the first two eps might bore you and you have to have patience. I started watching Asian dramas around 12 years ago, and that is pretty common imo.
huh? I like her husky voice and this didn't sound like that, it sounded like a voice I've heard so many times. But I knew it was a possibility I was wrong, haha
Have a good day/night!
