Title The Untamed
Can someone explain why everyone is obsessed with this? I want to know whether it is worth it to watch. The plot…
Dramas like LR and Ashes of Love are Xianxia. Untamed is more wuxia like and to me, it seemed similar to Princess Agents and the Legends. (Very similar situations happen.) The acting and OST are really good and I loved how the sibling relationships and Wangxian gang were portrayed .
The plot was the weakest point for me. It wasn't compelling enough to continue a second rewatch. But, overall its good. And being obsessed over it, thats each person's preference/reaction I guess.

I'm so sad that the comment below me doesn't like this drama. What kind of high school production has fights like…
I liked Under the Power, but they spent more time on court matters and other stuff instead of focussing on the main leads and their mysteries alone. I had to skip quite a bit, but overall it was enjoyable. Ancient Detective is my top drama of this year. But, such lowkey drama are forgotten pretty easily. (This was shot in November 2018.) They spent their efforts and budget in shooting those fight scenes I think, instead of CGI and costumes.

One of my favourites this year. I'd love a second season and/ or DVD to buy of it. It somewhat took the sting…
Glad you liked it! :) Haven't watched Sleuth of Ming Dynasty or Noble Aspirations yet. But, China has a wide variety of genres to choose from. I hope you find the ones you like.

I had a similar disagreement with my sister. She disliked him for his inferiority complex that lead him to do all that. Like how easily he turned back on his brother. (I don't understand how people blame Run Yu for Xufeng's death. He never particularly mentioned that it was Xu Feng who did it, rather it wad Jinmi who assumed it to be him, believed the dream and chose to stab him without even confronting him about the truth. Xufeng kept his mom's involvement under wraps and that lead him there too.) But, she still liked him in the end. He had the good side with him, but I think he was forced to snatch away anything he wants thanks to Heavenly emperor and his bird wife.

Title Love and Redemption Spoiler
I spoiled the last scene for myself. :D
It was really beautiful and I'm glad that they put a beautiful BGM instead of a song. (They better release the background OST.) It makes such scenes more memorable for me
Now, waiting for Eng subs. Question: Did Xuanji fail the 10th trial? And if she is mortal, she can cultivate back to immortality, right? Even if she can't return to the heavens? Like how Jinmi does after being reborn in Ashes of Love?
I wanted all loose ends tied up and seeing people say that she may or may not go to heavens is surprisingly sad. Cause I don't want Sifeng to be alone again.

lol, I read an article on dramapanda about the drama getting criticized for the overdramatic plot lines for ratings…
This drama is not even getting hyped up as much as Eternal Love Dream or other bigger productions. And if you check other articles, people are actually praising the drama and the cast. It has a decent rating on Douban.
Replying to rapo65 Sep 1, 2020
7.5 the score on Douban for L&R. A few days ago it was 7.7. Hmm...I wonder why the sudden drop.
7 point and above are actually high rated. Reviewers there are more critical and you can see that most dramas with tropes tend to to be low rated, even if it started at high. Like Eternal Love of Dream (6.8); Ashes of Love; Untamed; Princess Agents. Most of them, especially costume dramas, start out at 8 pointers and fall to 7 pointers as more people review them. This one is actually one of the high rated costume dramas this year. Many others are all 6 pointers.

Thank you this excellent write up! Your assessment is spot on, in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this…
Your welcome, clawhten! This is so far one of the best dramas for me plotwise. Glad to see that someone else has the same opinion regarding a second season as me. :)

Guys, as long as his hair doesn't look right, his photos are not gonna be pleasing no matter what. Unless someone replaces Yu Sifeng as his picture instead. :D

Was Ikkun, the little boy that ran into them at the cinema, Yachiyo's son? I think that was what's implied? She…
I thought Yaachiyo had feelings for the girl, but she was older and thought that he was too young to understand stuff or start a relationship. Plus, she already had a baby which he was unaware about. I never thought in the way that Yaachiyo was the dad, though. Cause the kid is like 5 or 6 years old and he is a high schooler. He is a kid even in the flashback. I never read the manga, so your theory could be true, too.

The drama is really fast paced. Not a single moment seems to be a waste so far. And only 59 episodes? It originally had like 66/70+ Episodes. I hope that they somehow release all that content.

I tried it ans couldn't get into it...it also bothered me that the martial art guy didn't know they were being…
You mean Zhao Wo Huan and Jian Bu Zhi being followed by Zhan Shi Qi in the first few episodes? Honestly, Zhao Wo Huan might be talented in martial arts, apart from that he is just a very normal, regular dude. It becomes very clear in the later episodes. Jian Bu Zhi's father had told him that a detective is in the light while the killer is in the dark. So, to make up for his lack of martial arts and also to solve the mystery, he has to be more senstive to the surroundings and more perceptive than Zhao. Plus, both Jian and Zhao have not been in the martial world for long. Heck, past some episodes, it is the supporting characters that save "both" of their lives. I found it highly entertaining. :D
I was getting tired of the "every character being an untouchable martial hero" trope. But, if it doesn't sit well with you, no need to force yourself to watch it. As I said in the article, like every other show, this one too, is not for everyone. :)

I tried to get into it. Maybe I will try again later.I put it on hold for now
Don't try to binge it. Just watch an episode once a while. ;)

I watched it sometime ago right after the sub is completed. 3 things stood out: 1) the ML is not your typical…
I actually liked that he had no martial arts. He shined in his own way. ;)
