Replay to y'all: those kind of parasocial relationships are unhealthy and problematic. All that "my oopa can't…
It's not a controversial take to "not be weird" however as far as an interesting story goes it would be absolutely boring, imo, if she were this epitome of fandom. She would have nothing to learn or grow from as a fan, there'd be no commentary to be made on fan culture if she were perfect.
idk why people can't accept the FL having flaws. Rather it seems people want her to be some Mary Sue "not like other fangirls" perfect representation of a "good" fan.
"And that she may know his fav toothpaste, but she, in fact, doesn't know the real him, because the parasocial relationships aren't real. "
It's almost like this is the entire point of her character arc or something, idk.... /s
I'm actually dissapointed with the FL, because while she's condemning toxic fan culture (stalking, entitled and…
How is she upholding anything by privately having a depressive moment? It's not like she went online and ranted about him daring to date or anything. She laid in bed a couple days and didn't eat and the only person who knew about it was her friend. And the only person hurt by it was herself. Being an adult doesn't meant you're immune to fucking up or having complicated feelings.
I've literally seen more people trying to police shippers than I have anyone actually shipping her with the prosecutor. The drama isn't going there, who cares what ship some other folks are shipping when it's never gonna be canon in the first place.
i really like that as well, but it was kinda obvious that some people wouldn't like it. i think it's great that…
I feel like if she were the picture perfect fangirl there'd be nothing for her to learn or grow from. Like you said, it's way more interesting this way.
He's been literally exploited by every adult in his life since he was 10. This man is a mess of mental health…
The only good person in his life died and he's now being suspected of his murder and he was already pretty unstable before that. Give the guy a moment to adjust ffs.
I actually really like that she's kind of flawed as a fan girl? I think she'd feel too perfect if they made her someone who behaved exactly perfectly right in their fannish shenanigans. Her reconciling her fan girl feelings with real life is a large part of her development as a character.
So normal fans are crying in bed not leaving the house or eating for 3 days because of their idol dating rumors…
I think her friend serves that purpose fairly well. But OPs point was she doesn't fit the definition of sasaeng, which they are correct. Whether the drama is properly portraying her behavior as unhealthy was not the topic at hand. However I think they are using her friend as a voice of reason.

I don't think the show was normalising anything, her friend pretty clearly called her out on it. OP said it was typical fangirl behaviour, not that that behaviour was healthy.
So normal fans are crying in bed not leaving the house or eating for 3 days because of their idol dating rumors…
that's simply something she's doing to herself, not to her idol. Sasaeng are obsessive stalker fans. Her behaviour wasn't healthy but it also wasn't damaging to anyone other than herself. I'm not familiar with k-pop so I'm reading the wiki page and man, not eating for a couple days is absolutely tame behaviour in comparison to some of this batshit.
Really enjoying this so far.I'm going down a weird path with my thinking for the plot.Unless I missed it, the…
Someone pointed out that there were scenes in the preview at the end of episode 3 that show them holding hands and nearly kissing. However we are never shown those scenes. Either they didn't make it into episode 4 or they'll show up in a later episode. But really without context we don't even know those scenes are real, they could be Se Na's imagination for all we know.
I'm partial to the theory that they didn't date because that makes his protectiveness make more sense to me. I can't reconcile someone being willing to go this far for someone who cheated on him simply because he loves or loved her. Not when we're talking a potential murder charge. So I think there's more to their connection that makes him want to keep her away from the investigation.
I think there's something legally hinky going on with her or her family as well because he made a point of mentioning her being worried about him telling a prosecutor something during the river scene.
He hasn't been charged. He's being questioned as a suspect but no charges have been laid against him.
The court scene I think you're talking about was the scene to contest the arrest warrant. The prosecution applied for an arrest warrant based on the fact that no one else had access to the property, which Se Na then disproved. Meaning he was never arrested or charged.
I think we can rule him out simply by the fact that they are going to be questioning him as a suspect next week. Pretty anyone the drama brings forth as a suspect gets exonerated, they usually have some other secret to reveal.
