I meant what time of day? Netflix dramas usually have new episode up by now but Idol I isn't showing any new episodes yet for me..... and having just written that I now realize it's Sunday and not Monday. My vacation is messing with my brain lol.
Everything else is kind of flat and one dimensional. There's not much in the way of character development or world building. We have some people who innately have powers, an evil conglomerate who knows about these powers somehow and is experimenting/stealing all the powers, a loan shark who is somehow involved for reasons. None of those things are fleshed out in any meaningful way.
It's a good way to waste a weekend, I wanted Jun Ho in an action drama so that sated that desire nicely, lol.
Watching episode 10 and.... them just running people down with the taxi feels rather lacking in finesse? Maybe I'm misremembering but I feel like they use to use clever ways to con the conmen rather than just brute force?
I want to offer a different perspective, if you don’t mind. Body language is part of the storytelling. In the…
From a technical or logically standpoint I get it. Sugiki is buttoned up, ridged, his dancing is technically flawless but lacks emotion, etc. So opening up to a relationship is hard, etc, etc. The problem is I don't /feel/ any of that.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and got what you wanted from it, it didn't work for me. I've got to agree with Lunar that this could use some more flesh to it for my liking. I don't mind open endings or open to interpretation, I just didn't feel Sugiki's struggle with their relationship or later his acceptance is properly conveyed.
One of the best slice-of-life dramas I've watched in a while. Really recommended for everyone. There is a lot…
I think the reactions to the parents is a bit idealistic, like they should be reported to Japan's version of CPS for neglecting their child but everyone is like "la de da, let's eat sweet potatoes". And I get that they've been aiding and abetting Hatano pretending to be her Dad so there is some worry about his fate/legal standing. But I still feel they all treat Hotaru's parents too nicely. It's on par for the slice of life genre which doesn't really vilify anyone but it doesn't entirely feel realistic in that regard.

You can't do a whole movie on body language alone. I mean I guess you can but that leaves the majority of the film open to interpretation and hoping that the audience can properly read body language. And having not read the manga I did not get what you got from the movie.
someone please just tell me, is this movie spicy??
Depends on your definition of spicy I guess. I'd say not really. There are two make out scenes and there's a bit of nudity unrelated to the main couple (a few butt shots of some ladies and Suzuki).
Just finished the movie and I share the same thoughts. I’m not even sure how to feel about it. It’s a good…
The chemistry is good, the dancing is good (to my untrained eye anyway), they looked like they were having a lot of fun in those final numbers. The opposites attract thing was a little on the nose. My big question mark is Sugiki ending it because Suzuki breaking it off over jealousy would have made sense but idk what Sugiki is running from.
He does say, "If we cross this line I'll lose myself" and we can extrapolate from that that the idea of "letting go" is probably hard for someone who's been shown to be so strict and buttoned up. But I'm not sure that really comes through on screen all that well.
And then 6 months later all is fine for some reason.....
Considering so much of this was from Suzuki's point of view it would have made sense to me if he had broken up with Sugiki, angsted about it a bit and then won him back. But here I have very little idea about why Sugiki ended it or why he made this grand gesture 6 months later. The 2 months between the subway scene and Blackpool are a void so we have no idea what their relationship even looked like during those months or if they even had one to speak of.
Also we don't even get to the 10 Dance competition, lol? The movie is fine, but we start with them training together for this big epic competition only to never actually attend said competition??
I've never read the source material and I hear it's still going so I know it can be hard to adapt an ongoing work, etc. etc. But they could have fleshed this out some more. It would have been interesting to see them tackle the racism within the competition space that they alluded to briefly.
I hope we get a second movie where they actually do this 10 Dance competition, lol.
One consistent thing I've noticed in dramas that use English speaking actors is how slow they speak. I've always chalked that up to bad acting but considering how often it happens I'm starting to wonder if that's deliberate for some reason.
the entire serie is lowk abt their angst so id probably not Watch it if i was you
I've watched the first 6 episodes, episode 7 just turned it up to 11 and I found myself skipping through and not really caring how they resolve it. So yeah this is probably a drop for me.
Got kind of bored with this, I skipped through the last two episodes so idk if I should make it as complete or dropped or just try and watch them another day. I just don't care about their angst.
