personal opinion: emperyan xau xang should have been played by a different actor.
I like so many actors but I'm having trouble coming up with someone who could take on 5 characters and slay them the way CXX is doing as Empyrian Xuan Shang. Not saying he's the only good young actor out there...I get that he isn't... but I literally can't imagine anyone else as Shaodian Youqin. The character has to be strong and majestic looking but also innocent like Lamu, wickedly playful as Mei You Qing, beautiful and soft as Wenren.
LLD's crying scene when YT discovered all those years of birthday presents... really thankful for this cast because…
This is her first heavy crying scene which shows just how much trauma she'd buried inside of her. As much as I hate her dad, I completely understand her longing and yearning to have a normal relationship with him despite him being a cowardly being. It's her dad after all and YT is still that lonely child inside who just wants to know her dad loves her. That's exactly how father issues work in real life. It's not so black and white. She's felt like she's worthless and inherently bad for so long, this is vital for her well-being.
Also props to CXX for striking the right note with his acting when dealing with that entire situation. Youqin came across as steadfast and high eq. He sought a way to set things straight with her dad and start the long, difficult healing process for his wife, but never imposed his will, just facilitated things. What a man.

I haven't watched CLJ...actually, only watched the first two eps and put it on hold until more eps were released and then life got wacky and busy so I've yet to return but I've heard talk of the happy ending being super short. I hope that's not the case here! I want a super emotionally satisfying, funny and sweet ending.
Okay, so I love this director so much and with the honey trilogy, I analyze that he always follow the same kind…
I don't remember there being any special eps...I'll do a rewatch today or tomorrow. But I remember the ending being suuuuper lively and lighthearted but the actual length I've totally forgotten.

thanks so much...and I agree, I'm getting the vibe that they'll choose this route with some tweaks, basically Yetan dies and is reborn somehow. The soul gathering lamp will probably be key. I'm just wondering if YQ will end up having to give something up to get her back and how severe that will be. The only way a mortal and an immortal can have a HE is if they both become immortal or both become mortal. Yetan is a long ways away from immortality, but she might end up achieving it through this death.

It's been so long since I watched AOL (literally watched it when it released) my memory of the ending is quite fuzzy. I remember it being a HE with Xu Feng and Jinmi ending up in the mortal realm, away from all the politics and suffering, but I seem to recall one of the two dying and later being reincarnated. Can someone briefly remind me of the ending? I'm thinking TSL's ending may end up mirroring some of it, or perhaps going in an opposite direction.
Given that the producer has branded this his honey trilogy and this is the last entry, can someone refresh my memories of AOL's ending? Tagging as spoiler:
