International metrics are pretty much irrelant, especially when it comes to determine what producers do. "good"ratings across satellite tv, that's pretty relative. None of these dramas had any heat whatsoever. Their douban metrics (ratings, score) are dismal and it's now pretty much a consensus that Nazha's dramas have performed poorly this year, to variable degrees. Honestly, I don't dislike Guli Nazha, I actually find her very interesting and wish she had better scripts to work with with proper directors that can allow her to reach her potential, but I just have to be objective here about her performance this year. I genuinely think she's someone who is more suitable for the film circle and the fashion and modelling circle which are probably better ways for her to reinvent herself.

I don't follow YY too closely, but sems like Shi Jin isn't happening, or so people claim. Still, who knows...YY has so many options.

wow, I applaud you for having made it through the whole thing...was looking for reviews to figure out whether I want to give this one a chance. For the life of me I don't understand why Guli Nazha ended up choosing so many terrible projects. She's literally had 4 dramas air this year and they all flopped disastrously. I think she should just stick to the fashion and movie circle and leave dramas alone.

I think people who finished it rated it as a whole and those who hadn't simply dropped it. Things look a lot different in China though.

True...the ending pissed a lot of people off, but if a drama overall holds up well, the drop won't be too big. We'll have to wait and see when the score finally stabilizes.

That's partially true...the score had already started dropping even before the fast track.

Yes, but the overall trend has been downward EVEN before the ending released. Before the fast track it had already dropped from 7.5 to 7.2, the ending however, boosted the trend and that's when it started sinking like a stone. I noticed Douban has been locking and unfreezing the score periodically, probably to double check the legitimacy of the ratings. Fluctuations occur with Douban scores but they're usuallly minor...this is more of a strong trend. Once you've dropped 0.7 decimals, reversing that is pretty much impossible. It might regain some of the lost ground many weeks down the road, or even months but it won't change by much.

Look, I'm not hating on this drama. I did the responsible thing, I realized this was just not for me, dropped it and moved on. Everyone has their own rating system, it's a personal thing, just as it's the right of ZLS fans to rate a drama 10 stars well before it finishes airing, or write 30+ reviews before even reaching the midpoint, so I don't think your "gotcha" is a gotcha at all . All I'm saying is that the person who stated the overall number of discussions is low is right in their appreciation. I mentioned very clearly it's got its viewers, evidently some people, especially fans of Lusi, will be watching and even enjoying this drama, but what this person said is undeniable and that's neither hate nor it's love, it's a statement of fact. Just because I abandoned this drama and rated it 2, that doesn't mean I'm saying everyone should abandon it, or that it isn't succesful in its own way, depending what metrics you choose. I just happen to track data closely and well, this person was right about what they said. I hardly believe it's grounds for snippy comments from fans, dude. Jesus, I'm glad your barrage exceeded 10 million. Genuinely. I have no dog in this race. Congratulations to you.

I'll add something to this little exchange, it isn't really my opinion, but a fact: the general opinion currently spreading across Chinese internet is way more aligned with the first poster. Personally, I dropped this drama on ep 21 because I was already anticipating something like this but everyone is free to proceed at their own risk.

This. It's got some viewers but there's very very little discussion about it. I saw some critical posts after the first few eps and then nothing.
