It was clearly mentioned in the flashback that it’s for a friends son. Yu Bi’s dialogue after that was “that woman lives in this house now” or something like that. So yes, they did confirm it in the first episode itself.

This is a little too good I’m afraid (with the usual Chinese drama quirks). I don’t mean any lgbtq erasure but I don’t mind getting step brothers to best friends thing rather than lovers. What they need to do is change the main series poster though lol. They really complement each other on screen and I’m surprised the friends are actually likeable characters.

Girlie had the most illogical assumption even for kdrama-land. I expected her to arrive at “omg I’m not on his level” but she thought a whole kid she’s never heard of before could be his romantic partner? 😭

I’m yet to watch hidden love — manly because the rational life and falling into you increased my standard for cdramas so much that I don’t want to ruin the genre for me.

Let’s just enjoy the the romcom sweetness & honeymoon phase to the max before we fall into usual “here to solve the mystery”, “she can’t be with me will get hurt”, “omg there is a childhood connection” bs to fill rest of the 10 time slots.

You see how this is a 12 episode original? It is not Netflix restricting episode number with other shows, the streamer is actually providing them freedom rather than forcing them to fill time slots. Even Queenmaker was odd 11 episodes which only solidifies my point. A reason why I’ll always prefer web releases over cable ones, multiple shows fall down in second half because creatives just don’t know what to do.
