Not gonna lie, tried hard but couldn’t get past Episode 13. They did try well in introducing twists to make it interesting, but the show fell down HARD after Episode 10. And once it was revealed to Rowoon’s character, i really didn’t see a reason to keep watching.

Also, the actress and makeup choice is pretty wrong lol. Sure, her stature and voice is good, but she’s also like 2 feet smaller than every man on the show with multiple layers of women’s makeup on her face. It’s hard to believe anyone would just think she’s a prince to begin with. Some spiciness or good romance would have probably kept me in but it didn’t happen :(

Of course, a seemingly white-blonde man doesn’t care about what Asian people who actually went through this time can deem what is insensitive and what not.

Anti-democratic? Good way to spin the issue. IT is very much democratic that we get this taken down because of how insensitive it is. However the agenda so far in the show seems to find the actual anti-democratic characters fun to display on screen as some good guys. And you all will now say something like “omg they’re actually the bad guys.” Oh wow, what a plot twist. Meanwhile the show is like “anyways, did you know this kind old man loved literature, what a lovely figure anyways.” Who knew the shitty people these characters have been taken up from are actually bad? Really a visual spectacle. Liked the second episode too, a bit more than first. What a great start. Though, sound design could have been much better than it is to match the camerawork’s and visuals.

Let me be honest, these 2 episodes had 10x better lore and world-building than a show like Hellbound. K-dramas usually can’t pull this off well but this was good. Though, I’m quite scared about how they’ll be able to stretch it to 16-episodes, would have given me confidence if it was 10, maybe?

disney+ hotstar is a service limited to india, indonesia, thailand and malaysia. disney+ is a separate international service first launched in US and later expanded to europe and asia-pacific. it was launched in some countries like korea only last month and this is their 3rd korean content after outrun by running man and blackpink: the movie.
