I dislike Wudang personally. The storyline, the editing, the main cast didn't work well with me but the fighting scenes are pretty well executed and they spend a good budget for the location.

Yeah I think it's pretty much general consensus that DGSD and The Condor Trilogies are JY's best top tier novels. I think all 4 are equally the most popular out of JY's novels.

Is TLP a xianxia? If it is it needs some time for the special effects so it might also take some time too haha. But a modern drama might air very fast. I think YAMG was just done filming in Dec20/Jan21? Correct me if wrong.

For this year we can have a lookout for Sword Snow Stride. So far they are scheduling it for Q4 I think. The cast is also quite powerhouse ^^

It' confirmed now a Youku S+ production starring Li Hong Yi and Liu Xue Yi. Yeah the director previously directed Love and Redemption and Ancient Love Poetry so he has pretty good record.

Is the storyline confirmed as only bromance and not BL? From the little screenshot/snippets here and there it does look like only friendship bromance type but the story does seem mainly focus on the two male leads.

Yeah it has been sometime after The Rise of the Phoenixes which is among the best Cdrama along with Nirvana in Fire. Wind from Longxi looking like it will step up to be among the best too ^^

Lol don't think that will happen. First of all River Where the Moon Rises iinm only filmed a few episodes before they changed the male lead, whereas Kris Wu is the ML in the 60-episodes completed Hairpin. The cost should be not small.

The ML Kris Wu has been detained by the police over some serious sexual charges. Not only his upcoming projects including Hairpin are indefinitely shelved, all his presence in Chinese entertainment social platforms are being deleted by respective platforms one by one such as weibo, douyin, douban and so on including his individual songs on netease.

I'm really looking forward to high quality genuine wuxia too. Most of current ancient costume are romance or xianxia with slow-mo fight scenes. Tired of all these slow-mo fightings.

I tried Wudang first Sword drama earlier this year but while the choreography was good, the storyline and ML acting was rubbish.

Even if there is romance there might be too little. The drama will focus on the male casts especially the two ML and the spying thing.

Heard rumours that her role is small and that she only has few scenes. Hopefully true^^

IQiyi not necessarily poor. Some of IQiyi latest projects have expensive looking directors, casts, ips, costumes . In fact there are a few looking more expensive than Tencent's.

Maybe it's the BL genre? Or the production failed to find good rich company to co-produce together and sponsor the show?
