I think the young man had a serious crush on her in the beginning. But she went overboard. She could have helped him moderately. No need for fancy hotel and then apartment, car, clothes. Rent for him a small and neat rooftop room and buy him a second-hand laptop, help with groceries too, It would have been enough to let him write calmly, You don't need posh surroundings to be creative! Maybe also a decenty suit for interviews, but it didn't need to be a limited edition designer suit. Why spoil him with luxuries? If she had kept it reasonable, he wouldn't be turned into a gigolo, which made him hate himself and by extension resent her as well because thinking of his role in their relationship made him feel indebted and dirty. She was the cause of his turning out like that. And fame did the rest. Once a good friend of mine told me this "A woman should never give money to a man. If your man needs money, don't give it to him directly. Give it to me and I'll give it to him as a friendly loan, so that he doesn't know it's from you. Their ego is so fragile that they will end up hating you and the relationship will suffer". She was so right!
Agree, i think they should just end once her curse is lifted.
Well, it's better to lift the family curse completely. So at least they can save the uncle and also avoid that their future children have to struggle with it.
why usually in kdramas 16 eps by 60 min ? or are dramas kinda like have chinese dramas , 40 ep or much ?
In Korea they have different sort of dramas. There are the short ones of 16 episodes, then there are the family dramas which air during the weekend and are 50 episodes (Like Father Is Strange or Once Again) and there are also dailies with 100 episodes. But those almost never make it to the Western streaming sites. Even of the 50-episode ones, not many make it to us, because people don't want to commit to something that long. Most Chinese dramas are not 1 hour long. When you take out the lengthy credits at the beginning and end (full 5 minutes if not more), they last about 30-35 minutes. So in reality they correspond to a 20-ep. k-drama.
Not really, LOL. There are many people who like her, to each his own. But I'm a bit unhappy that she's in this because I would have definitely wanted to watch it.
You wrote "they’re not bad". And I just replied that they are more than bad, they are horrible. That's all. Why are you needlessly making all this fuss about it as if I had insulted your family? It's no big deal.
I love learning about the sub process, Irmar. If you could, could you let me know when it'd be alright to start…
The have to make the page to let us volunteers know that a licence has been purchased, and so that we show interest on working on it, no? We don't have any separate, behind-the-scenes communications with Viki, we get to know on what's available by looking at the "coming soon" section. People apply for the channel manager position and then Viki chooses one. After the channel manager is chosen, a zillion people assault him or her with personal messages asking to be on the team. He chooses the English team (subtitlers, if there aren't any made by Viki, Korean Translation Editor, English Editors, and of course all the team leaders (called "moderators") for other languages. Only then the episodes start being uploaded one by one, and we get to work on them. Sometimes, if the show is old, like "Pale Moon" here, Viki uploads all the episodes at once, so if you visit and you see them all not translated or not edited yet, you will think we are lazy, when in reality, all episodes of the series were uploaded on the first day!
You call those subs good? ROFL! Their subs are a joke, they don't make any sense. Here is one small example. Some women at a luncheon are gossiping about an executive's wife's appearance and saying that she probably had some cosmetic procedures or surgery done.
episode 1, @12:37 HiMovies: The United States is still raised by Haifu Yinbo Lati. Viki: Whether it's Ulthera or Shurink*. (rejuvenation procedures using ultrasound energy)
As I predicted, Viki uploaded all episodes at once. I wonder why they do that, since this puts enormous pressure not only on the English team but on the Other Language mods, since their viewers assume that the episodes are subbed, edited and released - and start complaining - when in reality they are still unedited. At this point we look like the baddies if we don't finish everything as quickly as possible. But in reality we all have other projects too, and we know that any project means two episodes per week, not working day and night on a single drama! The Viki paid translator's job this time is not bad at all. So if you're in a hurry, you can watch and enjoy the drama. But if you want to wait for the English team's detailed edition, two episodes per week will be released. You can see on the "cover page" (in the team tab) which episodes are released to Other Languages. It means that they have been edited.
