Ratings are just a start. We know that we are all different people with different tastes, how can one rely on another's tastes? Unless you know a certain user, you have read many of his/her reviews and you have understood that your tastes are similar. Only then you can trust this person and follow his/her recommendation.
At any rate, there is always the 4-episode test. At least in my case, I usually give a grace period of 3-4 episodes before deciding to drop something. There are rare cases where I did that much much sooner - like halfway on ep.1!

Yes but the uncle, instead of only hugging and saying "sorry I left you, I hope we meet again in our next life", could have explained what he was trying to do, what he found out and how he thinks the curse can be lifted. Then he would have been really useful.

The coldness is always explained, and he always ends up to be a softie. Poor guy, he's usually suffering of a childhood trauma (in quite a few instances he was abducted when young), mommy/papa issues (ignored or given the cold shoulder or orphaned, or the son of a mistress) or has very rare disease/allergy/phobia, something that does exist but we had never heard about.
Sometimes it's a combination of all those. Whatever the case, the FL heals him of the traumas/ nightmares, and gives him life.

You cannot have chemistry with that ML, he is likeable, but "Elder cousin" type, very bland. But the writing of that drama was good, and the plot very satisfying.

But it was a memorable role, that stole the show.

Very few times and nothing to write home about. I didn't feel the passion or anything like that. The romance is a side plot here.

I have a blank text document open on my Windows toolbar. I have made it to be like a wide strip, so that it covers the middle part of the screen but leaves space on the bottom to show the subtitles. I always use this for medical dramas, and there it's perfect because you can see the eye expression of the doctors when in surgery, and read their dialogue, without seeing all the gore in the middle.
So here, whenever I saw an evil ghost coming (those are quite scary), I just clicked on the Notepad document and it covered up strategically what I didn't want to see.

Of course in those times women got married at 14-15, so you could well become a grandma at 30. This grandma is like 50 years old. Which might have been old for those times, where life expectancy wasn't much - especially in the royal palace, where everyone is trying to poison one another.

Yes, he wanted to save his mother, which is understandable. But he should have consulted with his brother first. Together they might come up with a better idea.

C-drama females are childish airheads who talk with baby voice. They trip and stumble all the time, are impulsive, prone to misunderstand, throw tantrums. But they are pure and with a heart of gold.
95% of those heroines are like that. Sick and tired of it.
With few notable exceptions, of course (an example that comes to mind is Lighter and Princess). But they are the exception that confirms the rule.

That was my understanding as well.

I don't remember what exactly she told her, if it was an affair or she just started spending some time with him and liking him without actually doing something. And of course I'm too lazy to go back and check!

But did she really have an affair? We saw that in episode 13, when she finally told the man "I like you a lot" he had this look of happy surprise, as if it were the first time he heard it.

I don't think she actually cheated. She did like the guy, she was tempted, but didn't do anything concrete about it. She had prepared the divorce papers the day her husband died. Even now, for the first time she told the guy she likes him, in episode 13, but still cannot choose him (because she feels the presence of her husband)

Very bland.
