For real! All the bts stuff is way better than this "epilogue." Even all the weibo XLH/DFQC daily life updates are better than this. Ugh, I wasn't expecting much but it still didn't hit my lowest expectations either. Wow, just wow at how painful this was for fans right now. I'd rather they not even. *Forcefully erasing epilogue 1 from my memory already* 😢😢😢

I enjoyed the narration of post-married life, and glad it confirms for confused viewers that the happy ending (HE) is real (I mean, it is people! How someone figured the HE to be XLH's dream or hallucination is beyond me.) But the rehash of scenes, even scenes from slightly different angle(s) is disappointing for sure. 😢 If you've been watching all the bts already, it's not really anything new or different enough.

Sorry I already responded below with this to another post, but fits this post too so reposting.

Based on past/other drama epilogues/extras, I'm not holding out for much as to not get disappointed (prove me wrong iqiyi/Netflix!) 😂😂😂

For example:
* Immortal Samsara's 2 epilogues were only about 7 min each. But at least they had new content.
* Word of Honor's epilogue barely had new content (except seconds of proof they both lived), and was mostly a recap/mv, so meh
* Love and Redemption's epilogue was a brief modern day coffee exchange/passing by (which felt totally unnecessary since it was already a super happy ending and they never even really interacted in epilogue)
* Goodbye My Princess extras/epilogues were cute but super short modern day clips, did provide some closure
* Blooms at Ruyi's extra was short modern day clips too

I'm hoping for new content, but who knows, it might be snippits of bts, new or unreleased bts/deleted scenes strung together and/or modern day clips/reincarnation...?

My guess is it'll include at least 1 modern day clip/snippet as that's likely easier to film at this time on such short notice, unless this was planned from the start. But we shall see! I'm cautiously optimistic.

Technically, "Little Flower Demon" is the correct translation. (小花妖/Xiao Hua Yao).

I have no comment on Da Qiang though lol, although that has a literal translation, it's used as a name so it would make sense to keep it as Da Qiang in my opinion.

Although I agree with you, the flower demon vs spirit is less charming (but is more accurate though 😂).

Wow, why are you hating on her? Do you realize how freaking expensive dramas are to make?
If her father invested, more power to him as it was super risky in the beginning. Nobody, literally nobody outside of the cast and crew even expected the drama to do as well as it did! And even then, they were still low on funds in some places since this drama didn't have any big sponsors/big name celebs attached like other bigger productions might. (Dylan has mentioned that in interviews that they did the best with what funds they had.)

So, whether this had or didn't have her father's investment (as we can't even be sure if that article is verified or not)-- without a great script, writer, director, cast and crew and actors (not only Esther), a drama won't even succeed to this degree, so investment or one specific actor/actress is not the end all/only factor to success. From all the cast/crew interviews/bts and news, we know everyone put their heart and soul into making this drama, including Esther. I'm so thankful for everything that has brought us this drama and wouldn't change a thing.

And realistically, whether any investment (rumored) comes from her father or as with other dramas, the actor/actress' production companies- I'm not seeing that much of a difference. For example, when Yang Mi's investment/production company is involved, she's usually the lead and most of the main cast is from Jaywalk, or when Yu Zheng is involved-most of the lead/main cast comes from his company, same for Huanrui where Cheng Yi and all their casts pretty much move from drama to drama in every role every time.

And no, I'm not hating on any of the above, just saying it's the nature of the c-entertainment biz. The funds have to come from somewhere and it's always usually related to the actor/actress in some way/shape or form anyways.

Yeah it kind of is if you wanna be literal. 大木头/Da Mu Tou literally translates to "Big Wood Head" but it's mostly likely a replacement for "Big Demon Head" (大魔头/Da Mo Tou) in the novel (but changed in the drama for censorship purposes) as both sounds very close in mandarin.

I'm not really sure how native speakers expected that to be translated... "Big block head/big dummy" maybe? Idk, I'm OK with the drama's translation as we don't really going around calling someone that in English so there's no "real" equivalent to use other than the literal one...

And I saw some other comments were about funky literal translations of "ben zuo" (literally means "this seat") too. No one would use that literal translation in english. It would really just translate to "I/me/my/mine" unless you really wanted to be descriptive, then it might be more like: "this mighty one/this great one/this Lord" but that's still kinda odd to use in english. For example:
Normal people say: I want food.
vs.
DFQC actually sounds like: "This great one" wants food. 😂😂😂

Anyways, yeah DFQC only uses "ben zuo" to refer to himself and it's usually used by higher class (ie. emperors/leaders/kings) when referring to yourself to show higher authority. It's such a fitting thing for DFQC to do though, and so many different ways in Chinese language that someone could refer to themselves to add meaning/layers. (ie. Similarily, Lord Yun Zhong also refers to himself but in a different way too as: "Ben jun (本君/this lord) instead of "I" for the same reason to show authority).
Much of that is lost in translation though 😢

This thread below should help if you read through all the comments. "How dare you hurt my girl" isn't exactly the right translation. There's no reference to her being "his girl." He moreso actually says "How dare you touch my person/people" - he sounds a lot more authoritative, and less romantic than the iqiyi/Netflix subs probably made it. I guess native speakers feel the subs are a bit cheesy 😂

I respect your opinion but would also like to disagree and share mine 😂. No hate on Deng Lun or Ashes of Love (AOL) as I enjoyed the drama and his dramas overall, but I don't see that Deng Lun would have played DFQC as convincingly strong, yet with such vulnerability as Dylan did in the same way. I love the Ashes novel (Heavy Sweetness, Ash-like Frost), but I was quite disappointed in Deng Lun's portrayal of Xu Feng/drama Xu Feng in his demon role. I feel the demon Xu Feng in novel is a bit closer to drama version DFQC in that's he's a lot tougher and darker in looks and personality, especially once he became Demon Lord. Deng Lun's portrayal was such a softer version of the novel character and I honestly don't think he was really that great of a leader (he was more focused on his love/wallowing in his lost love w/Jinmi than to actually to run a tribe). But then again, he isn't carrying around the pain of trying to bring home 100,000 frozen soldiers either so their stakes are very different. I even complained to my sister at the time AOL came out because she loved AOL so much but I was just like: "meh it's pretty good/OK but that's not how I imagine novel Xu Feng as a Demon Lord." I feel that drama Xu Feng feels like a different character then novel version. Yang Zi's portrayal of Jinmi worked for me though.
So when LBFAD came out and DFQC came out in all his hellfire glory and had such bad-ass attitude to match, I immediately thought- "See, see, see! That's how I imagined novel Demon Lord Xu Feng to be more like!" 😂
Granted, I'm not laying all the blame on Deng Lun, but in how the drama version of him was written, portrayed and perhaps directed, he was much too soft to my liking. I like novel Xu Feng much more.

I do personally feel that given the same character, every actor puts a part of themselves into the role, and some naturally play characters softer or tougher vs others. Based on his dramas outside of AOL, I think Deng Lun's acting tends to give his characters a softer/sweeter/happy-go-lucky edge... which is OK, unless you're supposed to be like a deadly demon Lord 😂.

And sadly we may never see Deng Lun again in dramaland, so it's kinda a moot point anyways. I can't imagine DFQC and XLH being anyone else than Dylan & Esther! ❤️

Da Mo To is "big devil/demon head" - dramas aren't really suppposed to use demon/devil references per se.

I recall she does explain to him why she does it in the drama. But yes, most viewers agree Da Mu Tou in drama vs Da Mo Tou in novel is mostly to get past censorship. 👍

Xufeng is the male lead from Ashes of Love

Don't forget Xu Kai and Bai Lu too! Their bts for Zhao Yao/The Legends at the time was also super cute as well.

Xunfeng is still iffy by Epi 29 so I can see why you're concerned. He still does one more unpopular action related to the Cheng Ying sword & XLH that doesn't put him in a great light. But he's good to go by mid/end of the final episode (Epi 36)! 👍
