I had high hopes for this because the promo materials have been a really high quality, but that trailer was brilliant - so beautiful! This might be the best koreas done so far - fingers crossed!
I'm often on my phone as I watch dramas, it's usually because the dramas are average or have certain storylines that I'm not interested in, but I'm so happy - at the moment I'm so invested everything I'm watching - Uncanny Counter, True Beauty and now this, I don't even think of looking at my phone when I watch them.
Why did I hold off on watching this!? This is seriously brilliant! I'm so happy I can binge the episodes to catch up - even though I have so many dramas I'm behind with this has become my number 1 priority!
Oh wow! I was quite excited for this but people aren't fond of the first episode...I'm gonna try to lower my expectations so that I'm not disappointed.
I kinda found myself losing a little interest in this drama at episode 3 when I was watching it as it was airing…
They did change my favourite part of the movie though - there aren't many parts to the film that I love but I always remember so fondly the court room scene where he reads out the letter and then she sees the paper was blank - I kinda wish they kept Lee Do Hyun reading it (it makes sense they didn't but still - that's what I wanted) and also I missed her reaction to the paper being blank - I know they couldn't reveal everything there and then - it's way too early but that the only scene I've preferred in the film to this drama so it sticks out - but everything else in the drama is a million times better! Also I got spoiled the children don't find out but I really wish they did!
I kinda found myself losing a little interest in this drama at episode 3 when I was watching it as it was airing and I kept intending to pick it back up but never really wanted to enough. Several times I almost put it in my "dropped" dramas list, but I decided to randomly give it one more chance and now...I LOVE THIS DRAMA - I went from almost dropping it to binging 5 episodes - it's now 3am and I'm a sobbing mess (episode 8 killed me) - and this dramas becoming one of my favourites of the year - so glad I gave it another chance! It's truly beautiful.
I didn't love the first episode as much as I had anticipated, but the second episode really hooked me! I'm now so excited to see where this will go - especially after just realising there will be 20 episodes.
Waitt is it bl ? Since the queen is actually a man !! I'm CONFUSED
In the Cdrama the leads do fall in love, and this is an adaptation of that drama (albeit with a lot of changes) but it's unclear whether they're going down the same root here yet. But if China is willing to do it with all the restrictions they have I don't see why Korea wouldn't.
I've just finished episode 11 and still loving it - but I almost gave it up because of all the negative comments on here. Then again there are still 5 episodes left so there's definitely a chance I'll change my mind but I really like 2/3 main couples and our leads chemistry is so heartwarming - so for the moment I'm looking forward to what's left.
I'm speaking up cause i think I'm the only one - I am completely a SuHo fan- and I didn't expect that considering he's one of the few cast members I've never seen before - but I'm really enjoying the exploration of his character and I don't usually like cold male leads. I definitely do also like SeoJun - he's really cool and funny, but at the moment if I had to pick my "endgame couple" it's got to be JooGyung and SuHo, I like that they seem to have similar interests, I like that can't help but be softer around her, I like that they're becoming friends first, but then again it's only episode 2 who knows what will happen!
Wow! I liked episode 2 way more than episode 1 and I liked episode 1 a lot! I seriously need more! I laughed so hard in episode 2 and I audibly "awwed" a couple times as well. Also the whole cast has great chemistry whether it be friendship or romantic. I'm very excited to see where this goes!
Wow! I’ve just finished the first episode of True Beauty and I haven’t loved a first episode of a drama that much since Extraordinary You. (That doesn't mean the entire drama will live up to it - but fingers crossed it will!) anyway I’m grinning ear to ear! Moon Ga Young is one of my dramaland favourites and she’s stolen my heart yet again! I'm so in love! I can’t wait to watch more!
Im so happy Kim Yoo Jung and Ann Hyo Seop have finally been confirmed as the stars! Also it's the smallest age gap Kim Yoo Jung has had with a Male lead in at least the past 5 years, which is so nice to finally see.
I made a note of wanting to see this a little while back and I watched Gamboys as it aired, but I've only just realised it's Elijah in the starring role. I'm so surprised. Definitely interested to see him in his film.
Hmm, I'm not exactly experienced with the Korean Culture. But I heard someone say that perhaps the photos made…
I think you're right - we saw in episode 4 how many people hate her and have these misconceptions about her. So I think the people who disliked her and her fake fans are going to be so happy to see her difficult past and that will be the cause of her fall from fame.
I'm so glad I was wrong about who HarLey is! I thought it was my fave so I'm glad it wasn't them - definitely didn't expect it to be who it is. They weren't anywhere near my suspects list.
I did start with a lot of BLs - as I think a lot of people do and there are some great BLs out there! I originally tried Make it Right and Together With Me multiple times but couldn’t get through them. But then I found gmmtv BLs and they were much more enjoyable (personally I disliked Sotus though) - But last year I started to watch a couple non BLs and there are some I’ve really enjoyed- I started with a lot of teen gmmtv series, but I’ve moved on to proper lakorns now - I have to say I liked My Husband in Law but hated it towards the end - I especially hated how they gave the female lead a personality transplant to keep the lead’s apart. And my favourite lakorn so far has to be Hua Jai Sila - it’s so ridiculous and crazy but I loved every minute of it - it’s trashy revenge at it’s best. My favourite teen series has to be Ugly Duckling: Perfect Match - that introduced me to Push and I fell in love with how charming he is instantly! Of the BLs I’ve seen my favourite is by far I Told Sunset About You but that’s more of a mini series - so otherwise it’s 2Gether or My Dear Loser: Edge of 17. I’m happy I gave thai content a chance because it’s quite different from any other countries!
I am glad that Timmy and Johnny are finally getting a lot more lead roles - they’re finally the stars they deserve to be. For a while they were completely thrown out of the industry - I still find it so ridiculous that they aren't allowed to appear in public or on screen together even as different characters - so shocking!
Personally I'd give Lee Rangs story and interesting relationship with Lee Yeon a 10/10, but I'd then have to give the romance a 2/10 - it just didn't work for me at all and that becomes an issue when the show hinges in their "epic" 600 year lasting love. No hate to the actors I just didn't like the leads relationship - i found it extremely dull - I even skipped a few of their scenes. For me it was a meh drama with a brilliant second male lead.
