Everyone was doubting their chemistry from the trailers, but now the dramas begun I totally feel it. They're so cute and adorably awkward! Also I'd forgotten how much I missed Kim Min Jae as a male lead - Joseon Marriage Agency wasn't long ago, but it feels too long!
So I haven't watched the Untamed yet - because I had 2 friends tell me if I don't want to be confused I should read Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation first - so after ages I have just started it and I'm 7 chapters in and I just don't wanna stop. I'm so excited to get to the drama when I'm done!
Does this drama do all of the romcom tropes? Yes. Am I somehow still really enjoying it? Definitely! I'm seriously loving our FL and MLs dynamic and chemistry. Also I've found myself chuckling throughout the past 2 episodes! It's light and sweet, so it's the perfect drama when I'm not in the mood for something heavy.
I really don't want to drop a drama with Ji Soo in because he's one of my favourite younger actors in kdrama land, but my least favourite drama trope is friendships or familial bonds being ruined by a love triangle - I hate it so so muchhhh
We've all been saying for years we want Ji Soo to finally play a happy male lead that gets the girl, but this year he's doing this melodrama where he's the second male lead (again) and he's also working on a drama where he has terminal cancer...thanks Ji Soo, but this isnt exactly what we were hoping for!!!
I just realised it's not possible for him to love her yet and that seriously broke my heart. I'm agreeing with the theory that his last emotion will be love and he'll learn it from her and so she will forget him!
That first episode was amazing. I'm so intrigued! Really like the cast. Especially Jin Ho Eun - I've missed him since Beautiful Life ended! I also love that we have a cold female lead in comparison to the cold male lead that we are used to. I can't wait to see them both grow and change each other. I hope all the episodes are 20 mins long like the first one, because I'm already sad it's not a full length drama!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. It looks like our FL is gonna have a ton of suitors which I didn't expect. But I love communal living dramas and I can't wait to be introduced to more of the characters who live in the house. Also this drama really doesn't take itself seriously so it was so much fun, I was laughing the whole way through.
I thought that the writers had messed up and had forgotten what they'd written in previous episodes, but NOPE! They are so clever! I shouldn't have doubted this drama, but to be fair I've watched so many dramas with messy writing I wasn't prepared for this dramas writing to be so great!
It's strange. Every week I fall more and more in love with Oh Dae Oh and more out of love with Ryu Jin and Oh Yeon Woo. I've always liked how extra and ridiculous Oh Dae Oh is, but I find him more likeable every week. Whereas Ryu Jin used to be a great character, his scenes were extremely funny and he was a good friend, but now he's just a jerk and his scenes annoy me - I hate nothing more than fake friends especially since Oh Dae Oh valued their friendship so much. Then Oh Yeon Woo stole my heart in the first episode, but ever since then he's been so clingy and over protective, Ae Jung has said his actions make her feel uncomfortable but it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. Why can't we get a second male lead who cares about the female lead, wants her to be happy, to protect her and to not have to tear down a different guy who may actually make her happy...oh actually I just summed up Goo Pa Do. I love his character. I don't want him to end up with Ae Jung but it's refreshing for their to be a second male lead character this brilliant. I still love this drama but it's a shame they had to ruin some of the characters who were so great! (Still Oh Dae Oh is my favourite character - it was the tiny moment where he tried to appear fancy by ordering an espresso and then he took a sip and his whole face distorted in disgust - then I knew I loved him)
I just watched the first ep it was hooking but something about it also felt awkward I can't put my finger on it
I was really not a fan of the first couple episodes - I even wrote a post on MDL talking about how disappointed I was with the drama. I just couldn't connect to it, but I watched some more episodes and have to say I really love it now. It won't be for everyone, but personally I've completely changed my mind about it - I've not seen a lot of the twists coming.
After watching him in so many gmmtv series. I was so surprised to see him also in Hua Jai Sila which is my first venture into lakorn land. He's just as hilarious as he is in the series he's cast in. I've loved him in everything I've seen him in!
Although I've watched a lot of Thai series I've never seen a lakorn before and I had no idea it'd be so soapy! I thought makjangs were crazy... but this is insane. The closest thing Ive seen in the past to compare it to are telenovelas. I love it - I'm completely obsessed! It's so over dramatic and ridiculous. It's so fun. I'm definitely a fan!
Am I somehow still really enjoying it? Definitely!
