I've been missing you! π Your comments are delicious, just like one of the Shen family's dishes! π By the…
My friend, it's so nice to see you here!π€ Your comments, as always, are spot on and so much more than my Greek chorus! I do love this drama. Though the food segments are playing serious havoc with my diet! π
I am so confused as to why it's such a big deal that 1,000 years ago the ML was the Shen family's ancestor? I mean, they call the wife of the ancestor Lady Shen, and duh, everyone they meet in this ancient times calls the FL Lady Shen so it just makes sense she's their ancestor too. What's wrong with that? π€· Seriously, how many cdramas have we watched where a male and a female are first cousins and get married? (ok, usually some sort of royalty but still it happens a lot). At least this story has a thousand years of other blood mixing into the gene pool so there would barely be any DNA matches! π§¬π And there are multiple theories about time travel. The Back to the Future one where doing something in the past screws up your present/the future. Or the theory I like, time is fixed. Actions taken in the past are nothing more than small ripples and can't change the already written future significantly.π
I have a question. Why they suddenly brought up the contract thing? ML could easily gift the cat to her.
Cause it was cute? No real reason I think, it was just a cute little thing to show the ML creating that sweet little cat picture and words in the round?
There are way too many differences! To start with the FL has no family in the novel. She was a food critic for a magazine in her previous life. I don't remember if they ever mentioned how she got to ancient times.π€ The FL was brought up wealthy. The FL's noble/official family were all killed or imprisoned cause her father did something wrong. She was sold into the palace as a maid/slave/possible concubine. But she managed to save up enough money to bribe a eunuch to get herself released. That's where the story starts, when she is released from the palace. The ML is an assistant prefect. I think he's living in her families mansion? I can't really remember. There's a convent where she stays at after her release, nuns, she starts her own business.... No comedy. No fun family. No 'ancestor'. This really is a completely different storyline. The FL's name in the novel is Shen Shaoguang so same as the drama. π
Just starting this cause, Dai Gao Zheng! Opening song is good. First scene already showing off those abs, thank…
why did they glue rocks to the FL's face? What's that all about? πA fashion statement? A sign of the curse that she'll die in 6 months? A weird growth? Is it contagious? Will it spread? Will she look like The Thing by the end of the drama? More abs.....
Just starting this cause, Dai Gao Zheng! Opening song is good. First scene already showing off those abs, thank you. π₯° And then oh gods no, the FL speaks. goo goo gah gah give my binkie and my bottle and my diaper needs changed. πΆπΌπΌ Why oh why must you have adult women sound like toddlers? Really ruins the story. It's a damn shame, she is cute as hell. I'll see if I can get used to the voice. Oh my poor ears! π
I'm curious about something. In the novels and/or anime, do we ever find out what happens to Li Fei Yu? He plays such an integral part to the beginning of the story (or at least his name does!) that I'm curious. Did his name ever become famous across the land? Or was it Han Li using his name that made his name become famous throughout the land? I'm hoping he became a super famous righteous martial artist and had a good life before the poison killed him!
I'm on my umpteenth rewatch of this drama. It's the perfect show for me.π₯° I have to say though, the more I watch this the more I really despise glamor girl Dong so much for turning traitor and hanging with dear old murderous dad. Unless there's something in the novel that changes my mind (I'm only on Book 3 so I've got a ways to go I think) she is the worst kind of traitorous coward. Doesn't try fighting back, doesn't try to escape, doesn't try to help any of the good guys, doesn't try to change evil dad's mind and get him to stop killing. Just stands there on their floating flowering tree branch looking pitiful and sometimes crying. She should do the only honorable thing left and take herself out.π Oh, and in episode 28 she tries to convince her 2 masters, one of who is her own mother BTW, to turn traitor too and join them. And then cries when the master is killed. Oh boo-hoo! The worst! π€¬
Yang Yang has all the moves! Note to self, must figure out how/where to watch this Hello Saturday episode! https://youtube.com/shorts/KCu2IAgm_T8?si=iA2qN5vxqo0QduY_
Damn, there are now 2 people I hope die really early to quit polluting our screen time. Obnoxious little brother…
Seriously, is the little brother supposed to be playing a 5 year-old child? Episode 6 and his tantrums are getting worse. How irritating when an adult (the actor is 28) plays a small child like that π Why do cdramas always have the irritating little brother/little sister trope? How about a supportive nice brother for a change? π

But....this drama is so damn silly fun AF! I will watch any comedy with Wang Ying Lu, she has become my new favorite! π€©And of course anything at all with the gorgeous Li Yun Rui π₯° The family members are all a few bricks shy and their dynamics are awesome.
Some angst will probably come our way (maybe) but in the meantime enjoy this silly drama. And the food porn! π€€
(and shout out to the funniest cameo at the beginning with my favorite character actor Wang Cheng Si! π€£)

I'm imagining Han Li's thoughts and expressions when he finds out about the fame π€©
I'm hoping he became a super famous righteous martial artist and had a good life before the poison killed him!
How do you know all this? Does he have a fan page somewhere? If so I must find it!π
