That is a huge pet peeve for me! In an industry that is known for it's dubbing why the hell can't they ever get the singing right? Unless they are actually lip synching to a completely different song and it gets changed? 🤔
And don't get me started on playing the flute! It's not a bagpipe, you blow in to make sound and take a breath in between! Or any string instrument. 🤣

The story of the ML and FL first meeting is really cute in the novel. They met when they were kids. Since the ML is a prince (disgraced) when he was a child he was brought up alone, basically a prisoner. He decided to escape one day and his brilliant plan was to dress as a girl to sneak out. The only problem is as a little girl he was too beautiful so some human traffickers saw him and kidnapped him to sell to a brothel. The FL and her maids rescued what they thought was a little girl. The ML fell completely head over heels for her at that time even though they were both little kids. He never forgot her. While he was growing up he was sent to the south border army where he met the Holy Maiden who looked a lot like his love. But he wasn't interested in her, it was just an interesting coincidence. Anyhow, that Holy Maiden died. The ML went back to the capital, saw the FL again, was heartbroken she was marrying the duke guy (now deceased) and went back to the southern border. And after the FL went through all of her things she ended up in the south too, and they met. The ML never told her any of this. Dang, I could go on and on. Wait, I already have! Read the novel it's so good!

In the novel in her first life, her first husband drank himself to death. He was in love with a commoner. The 2 of them ran off together and decided to commit suicide since he was being forced to marry the FL. Sadly the girl died, he survived. But he hated the FL for separating him from his love and so he drank himself to death.
The FL ended up fleeing to the southern frontier (and Wumiao) where she met the elders of the clan. She was the spitting image of their Holy Maiden, who had died. So they used the FL to pretend to be the Holy Maiden. And it ended up she was actually very powerful and could do all the magic shit that the Wumiao Holy Maiden could do only better.

That's one part of the original story I wish they would have kept. The fact that Ernui seemed to know the FL from her previous life. As soon as he smelled her for the first time in her new life he came running right up to her! And he always protected her and stole money purses to give to her. His favorite trick was biting anyone on the butt that bothered her. He understood what everyone was saying, he understood human language and could respond to it. He was able to act out descriptions of what had happened. Even though he was quite old he seemed to be getting stronger and more agile the longer the FL knew in in her new life. So it seemed that Ernui has almost supernatural powers.
(if you read the last chapter of the novel this will make more sense but it will kind of tell you too much!)

Agree! There was no need for that but in these dramas there always seems to be at least one sidekick who doesn't make it to the end. It's like its in a contract somewhere that we'll do your drama but you have to kill off a beloved character first.😮‍💨
Truthfully I thought if they were going to off someone they would have chosen Long Dan so I was surprised.

The drama basically has almost nothing to do with the novel. It was a disappointment to someone like me who loved reading the novel and manhua/manga.
There's no 'Princess Royal' character in the novel and the entire storyline has changed. There are way too many differences to compare or to explain how they butchered the ending. But the novel is a very happy ending!
If you want to read a really good story I recommend it. The novel is long I warn you!

You are right! There are way too many side stories with the hotel's maids gossiping all the time. I want it to go back to the ML and FL flirt/fighting all the time!

This is one series that I won't be springing for the express package. It may be difficult to even finish it. I think they are trying to bring comedy back into the series with episode 15 but it's just pissing me off. So the ML gets a romantic villa for him and the FL but she brings the 2ML and he brings the 2FL. I don't want to see the 2ML or 2FL on my screen any more.

Sadly this series has lost its magic. There was no humor in this episode at all. Seriously, did they get a different writer after the bomb of episodes 13 and 14? 🤔 It went from quirky and charming to just fucking irritating.😮‍💨 Did I smile or laugh or giggle once during this episode? Nope.😑

Episode 16 Wen Zheng Rong is one hell of a powerful actress. She is stunningly beautiful and her eyes! The pure heartbreak, the hope, being afraid to hope. Just wow. 🥹
