Title My Stand-In Spoiler
Fr!
I agree. How could Ming stop him from falling? Especially after the shock of seeing Joe take the bullets for him...

Ooooooo good to know!
Keep in mind, none of what is currently happening is in the novel. These are simply my thoughts. But it really is not difficult to put 2 and 2 together. (The Ming we see in the episode 12 trailer is obviously from over 2-3 years prior. The phone call is him being told that original Joe died on set. Keep in mind: he is in the hospital with the current Joe.)

Man, the changes they made are so much better than the novel! More intense, feels more like a ā€œfull circleā€ for Joe and gives him so much more character growth!

My only complaint is that Tong does not deserve a redemption arc. But if they’re going to give him one, so be it…

I cannot wait for Joe to see how Ming was after the first time he died. You know that’s what he’s going to see through the ā€œlightā€ door… That is what will make him stay and accept his new life. Not as a ā€œstand inā€ but finally knowing and accepting that he, Joe, is the one Ming loves.

Loving this series so far. The 2 leads are cute as a button. The story is lovely and so heartwarming and heart…
Well, to be honest, aside from making lunch boxes the mom seems to be somewhat irresponsible. Or rather, she’s simply ā€œrealā€? Even parents make (sometimes BIG, in hindsight) mistakes.

Joe isn't fighting for love yet. We just havent't reached that part yet but it should be in EP. 11 that Joe realizes…
I was waiting for someone to say this. If they follow the novel, Joe will finally stand up for himself (and his relationship with Ming) very soon. I see it being an episode 12 event.

Maybe watch 5 episodes over the next week, then 5-6 episodes the week after, and then you will have all 12 episodes released by the time you’re finished… šŸ™ƒ

Which, I understand, for many they make ZERO sense. ;)

Ah, but there are definitely some things that I would not categorize as ā€œfluffā€ ahead! I just think that, once everything is revealed, the end will make sense (as far as Joe and Ming *can* make sense…)

Now that it appears as if "old" Joe in "new" Joe's body and Ming are going to get "back" together, it's time for…
To be fair, they did not make it very clear in the show, but old Joe confirmed that new Joe was also gay (convenient drop-in of the past boyfriend!) before he went too far ahead with the selling of his body… So. Yeah, it’s not right, still, but… that’s something.

"I fell in love with his back"......bitch that's a fetish
Definitely a fetish. Not love. And yet, it is so real… Attraction can easily be confused for love. I mean, have been attracted to come people for some components of their physical appearance, sometimes for something as peculiar as the shape/movement/definition of someone’s back. I think it tracks for many humans… šŸ¤”

I swear, if in Episode 10 Joe brings up Ming's past feelings for Tong again because he has no confidence in himself,…
Yeah… in the important scenes, they have kept the dialogue similar to the novel… so there will definitely be more Joe/Tong comparisons made by Joe. He has a severe complex, and I don’t blame him. He was the man’s stand-in and he (indirectly) died because he was ousted as Tong’s stand-in professionally, *plus* he was seemingly used as a ā€œromanticā€ stand-in by the one he loved. I would also struggle getting over it in his position. šŸ˜…

I gotta get this out: Ming isn't the reason for Joe's death at all, Joe is.Cause first of all nobody told Joe's…
This exactly. I mean, Ming was 1000000% wrong for what he did. But cause Joe’s death? He did not. It was a chain of unfortunate events. Ming deserves to feel guilty for what he did to Joe, but Joe’s death is much more complex than just blaming Ming (or even Tong, who truly is the worst of the lot.) Those who cared for Joe, including Ming, tried to pull him back. They all (minus Tong, of course) tried to stop him from working in that shady production…

Wow. The score that plays at one point (around the 19 minute mark) during the funeral in episode 9 is ā€˜Entrapment’ by Roots and Recognition. I think it is my favorite (and the most emotional) music piece in the show to-date. Not to mention, it is so bitterly appropriate for the scene…

I have to say, the music choices they made for My Stand-in hit the mark much more often than they do not. The OST is my current on-repeat. (And I love being able to add more music to it every week!)

They never mentioned anything about his work before the accident, but in the novel he has his own business separately…
In the novel, ā€œSolā€ is also quite homophobic - and only seems interested in ā€œJoeā€ (quite superficially) only after Joe no longer has a crush on him… It’s all very distasteful, if you ask me.
