I had high hopes but the plot and story line had more twist and turns than a roller coaster rude, I was worn out. Watch at your own risk.

I really appreciate the writers for showing the strength of love of a parent has for their children. as youthful passion can cloud the actions and decisions and we all have been there, our parents guided us back, sometime we listen and there are times we don’t. but they still stand beside us. this moral was so evident in these two episode. painful consequences are lessons of life and episode 2 and 3 is the foundation of their relationship as lessons are learned. now I am hook how this forbidden relationship in old traditional thai culture will grow and evolve.

I wish they would balance Pond’s character to be less angry and still emote his feelings and resentment, he’s a great actor but I feel the director went overboard. I do like that he’s in antagonistic role this time.

honestly I struggled on episode three when the wife forcibly handcuffed him and then the brother somewhat took advantage of him after saving him. given they both wanted it. I’m going to wait a few more episodes before I continue and watch this series just to get my emotions out of the way. I like your review on this.

Though I don’t find any chemistry in their relationship (just my personal feelings) the story is very intriguing. And without knowing anything about the manga this two is captivating in their own way. Not your typical CEO trope.

My excuse for the holes in the story, is the fact that they only had 8 short episodes to tell it. I think they…
oh I agree with you completely. it was too short with 8 less than half hour episodes. I like the twist of the story I wanted more of the depth of their relationship.

wow. The writing is amazing. mysterious persona with the show reminiscent of “Faust”!or maybe Brad Pitt’s “Meet Joe Black”. Enigmatic with an amazing soundtrack too boost. The intimate scene was very sensual leaving a lot to the imagination. I just hope no one spoils the rest of the story or at least place a spoiler in their post because I want to wait til the end and hope that my theories are wrong.

with so many dramas with boring storyline it’s refreshing to have a short and constantly moving story…I enjoy the scheming because it’s the true life in palace politics…but I admire our FL’s character and determination…

I wasn’t taking about the big brother raping him, it was then incident prior to that where the wife tricked him and got him drunk or drugged with her friends and clearly said while on the photons to the big brother “I will f*^k him”. now whether that happened or not after his torn clothes is was implied explicitly.

again he did not consent to be cuffed. unless that was not the intent. his wife clearly forced him as others watched.

in the conversation with his wife and he was handcuffed in front of her friends he did not consent to this. that was the first scene.

if there is one thing this series has elevated in Dramalist is the healthy discussion and sharing of thoughts. reading through people’s comments is demonstrating a higher interest and intelligence in this matter. it could be a story of two Moslems, or Jewish, or Baptist Christians. This matter is always a great reminder that we all differ in our beliefs and life experience which dictates how we react to the world around us.

Before you see 'Dead Friends Forever' I'm not gonna value your opinion about Barcode as an actor. You can talk…

For the censorship, simple: This doesn't need to pass any kind of censor from the Chinese government because of…
of course I agree with fantasizing. “as we in the healthcare industry always say it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt” and I have had my share of fantasies as well specially during my teens.

I agree with you on the last line, I’ve seen children who could act so beautifully.

thank you for the information and so I am assuming this is a Taiwanese production. of course I agree we all take responsibility for what we watch and I deal with patient with PTSD from all kinds of trauma, it would be nice if they at least warn people that these are parts of the show. I personally have not have a sexual PTSD but my young nephew was raped by his Uncle and this trauma haunts me. growing up in Asia this was either accepted or swept under the rug but th rosin lives on forever. with so many choices I do pick what I like as well, this just caught me by surprised. and a guilty pleasure is still a desire to do this kind of act towards another. thank you again for lightening me.

episode 3 crossed the line from dark drama into exploitation.

The rape and prolonged humiliation weren’t simply uncomfortable—they felt gratuitous. What puzzles me is how Chinese censors continue to allow this kind of content in same-sex stories when Addicted was effectively shut down years ago for portraying a consensual gay relationship. The inconsistency is hard to ignore.
At this point, the series feels less like a romance and more like an omegaverse fantasy wrapped in a prestige drama. Attraction may exist between the leads, but attraction does not justify this behavior. Rape is rape even with consensual adults.

Unlike Double Helix, where two damaged people slowly destroyed each other through their choices, Bittersweet begins with a master-and-slave dynamic that demands sympathy for the victim while simultaneously packaging the abuse as the catalyst for romance. That’s a premise I struggle to accept.

The one thing the director unquestionably gets right is making us empathize with the protagonist. Every indignity he suffers makes me want to see him reclaim his agency. But if the series is trying to present this as meaningful social commentary about China, it misses the mark. The supporting characters are so relentlessly cruel that they feel more like caricatures than people.

I’m sure the story is building toward the protagonist finally standing up to his controlling brother, his manipulative wife, and ultimately his abuser. I only hope that when it gets there, it earns that redemption instead of asking viewers to mistake trauma for love.

again from what I’ve seen my opinion stands. I’m not saying he can’t improve he’s still young. if he meets the right director who can pull out deep emotions like how Fourth acted in Ticket to Heaven then I’ll begin to like him. so far I’ve seen him in either horror or vampire roles after Kinn Porsche. Even Min who is young in Payback is able to emote so well. with so many thai talents the bar (no pun intended) is high.
