since some of us can only watch this at episode 31, it appears their finally showing the cause of her psychoses and hallucinations. and from what I read it was caused by some sort of viral epedimia (and my mind was thinking the UFO aliens took all of them except for her). for eight years it appears and. ow leaves so many questions as to why no one reached out to them at all. and there were other survivors as well. from an intense politically pumped storyline, what a sudden U-Turn. why do Inhave a feeling this won’t be a happy ending…

This Japanese BL drama is exactly the kind of comfort watch that leaves you smiling long after the credits roll. It strikes a perfect balance between sweetness and emotional tension, making every episode easy to enjoy while still keeping you invested in the characters.

What makes the series work so well is the chemistry between Ryo and Zen. Their relationship develops through subtle glances, playful rivalry, and unspoken feelings, allowing the attraction to grow naturally rather than being forced. The inner conflict between the two characters and their agony of confessing their love through the years. The story takes familiar romantic tropes and presents them with the understated charm that Japanese dramas often do best.

The blend of lighthearted humor and heartfelt drama kept me hooked from beginning to end. Watching their feelings evolve from their high school days into something deeper creates many genuinely giddy moments that pull you into their world. The romance feels sincere, and the kisses are beautifully executed—not staged for fan service, but filled with tenderness and believable emotion.

The performances are another highlight. Both actors bring warmth and authenticity to their roles, making it easy to root for them as individuals and as a couple. Their chemistry elevates every scene they share.

Fake Fact Lips is one of those rare series I would happily rewatch. Like Revenge Love, its charm lies in telling a complete story in a single season. Rather than stretching the magic across multiple projects, it leaves behind a memorable romance that feels complete, heartfelt, and worth revisiting.

And the theme song “Dareyori Sukinanoni” sang by the lead actors Kaito Hori and Yusuke Sato is pure golden it’s on my playlist. Depicting the agonizing inner conflict loving and losing a good friend when he confesses his love.

I don't understand how anyone wants that life so badly they are ready for anything.
maybe so but who really knows what difficulties some or many are going through, I am not generalizing all to be that as some are born privileged while most in third world countries live in extreme poverty.

oh there are choices of course, and some choice hard work while others may choose moral sacrifice. there’s a church in Manila where my cousin was a priest and every Wednesday they are known for a very special mass and I remember he told me that most of the protitutes and people in the porn industry would go to attend this mass and ask for forgiveness. and he told me it was not in his role to judge them. in third world countries where options are limited for people in poverty that is the reality.

oh I don’t mean your judgmental, my apologies. there’s a saying in Filipino that goes “kapag ang tao ay gipit, kahit sa patalim ay kakapit” literally translates to “when a person has no other choice, he will even hold on to a knife”. This is what poverty does to humankind. for us livin b in better and more affluent countries this is a belief that is difficult to comprehend.

I grew up in Asia in a third world country and when one lives in poverty, morality is thrown out the door and who am I to judge them, I try to empathize what they go through and choosing between selling one’s body vs being a violent criminal then I respect their choice. it is a sad reality.

BL fans won’t support him because he has a girlfriend in real life! sad reality for straight or Bi BL actors!🥹…
oh didn’t know that, then that truly makes him a versatile actor. one does need to be gay to act gay, it’s like saying gay actors are limited to non-straight roles as week. but fans will be fans I guess. thanks for enlightening me.

underdog? It has more budget than Perfect crown. Not you calling him unattractive 😭He looks better than so…
good for you, you know what you like. so respect what others like and don’t like as well. if we all like the same beautiful flower it would be a very boring world wouldn’t it. besides looks does not make an actor, its skills that matter.

look let be honest these two actors doesn’t fit the homogenous faces of Korean actors and having watch K-drama for 20 years it has become homogenous but never said he’s ugly. as a matter of fact I prefer that he doesn’t have a homogenous face, his uniqueness adds to his character and that’s what J meant about being an underdog, their the atypical image and I was rooting for the story to build itself sadly it didn’t and that’s never the fault of actors but writers and directors. Even the Perfec Crown with the perfect faces fell flat in the end.

It's not an underdog at all. I don't know why people are so eager to label everything as underrated or an underdog…
in that case it’s even worse and overachiever drama that flopped with the storyline.

I was really rooting for this underdog k-drama, a not your typical handsome actor and not an overly made-up actress but other than the first few episodes they characters were weak, the chemistry had no spark, and when I feel like rooting for the bad guy because everyone else’s character were weak then that tells me it’s a very poorly written script. it had a potential of classic K-dramas but like almost all new dramas, it’s just lacking depth. one I will forget once it ended

I have to be honest, I’m and big fan of Bailu and Ryan Cheng, maybe it’s just me, but when these two are together I don’t seen any spark between them. Each one are good actors but together there is no chemistry. I stil like this series, not my all time favorite but good enough.

your review says that you’re not happy cuz they cut NC scenes. are we ffr? are nc scenes the only things you…
what viewers and supposedly critics should understand is that not all shows are created equal to the viewer, and just because a person disagree to what we may like, he or she has a right to express that. if all of those who likes this show are allowed to comment their thoughts then Indont think that’s the premise of this page, let people speak their thoughts as long as it’s not derogatory to another person or culture or beliefs. everyone says they want a free world and yet they don’t respect freedom in its purest form, the right to express their thoughts.

Watching the love story of Ren and Kazuma unfold was both painful and hopeful. The actors portraying both the younger and adult versions of the characters delivered remarkable performances, making their journey feel authentic and deeply moving. Some viewers may find the teenage intimacy scenes uncomfortable, but they are presented without exploitation and serve as an important part of the characters’ emotional development.

What makes the story particularly compelling is its subtle revelation that Kazuma is actually the stronger of the two. His quiet and reserved nature creates the impression of emotional fragility, yet beneath that calm exterior lies unwavering resilience. The series beautifully captures the lasting impact of first love and first intimacy, experiences that leave permanent marks on the heart, especially when shared with someone deeply loved.

The drama also addresses workplace sexual harassment, an issue that has received increasing attention in Japan in recent years. By confronting this subject, the series adds another layer of realism and social relevance to its narrative.

My heart ached most for Ren. The pain, humiliation, and guilt he carried were sacrifices made out of love, and that burden shaped much of his emotional journey. This is one of the reasons Japanese BL dramas continue to rank among my favorites. They are less concerned with fan service or commercial appeal and more focused on exploring the depths of human emotion, the longing, sadness, and devotion that come with loving someone so completely that sacrifice feels inevitable.
