maybe it’s just me but episode 7 and the scene of the Holy Man war was epic in a simple way…it felt like it’s the Transition of the whole series from good to great…the actors all deserve praises and the direction some accolades. loving this series every minute of it.
Cheng Yi’s best acting skill I feel is a more expressionless role and he fits the cold and cruel role of the Chief instead of Xiao Q, he’s just not convincing when he is crying. I really want to root for the bad guys and in this case it’s the same actor. can’t lose.
Episode 7 and 8 is the time paradox but with 5 loops it seems to drag again creating a different version each time caused by the other loop individual but why so many episodes dedicated to MoMa? With only 16 episodes in total and it’s half way done they’ll run out of runway. Or is the whole story looping around the same individual’s cause and effect. It’s like watching the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome.
if the original novel written in the 70’s was it really necessary to add the AI virtual reality world. Though there have been movies that changed King Arthur and Excalibur with time travel with Merlin’s help, I personally feel the writer could have stayed close to the novel. after all episode 19 has redemption, finally I can breathe a little.
Whose bright idea was it to call this The Journey of Legend? Because honestly, it feels more like a path to becoming…
I have the same issue with this series so far though I think his more of a “victim mentality” as a result of severe depression and self pity. I do agree there is enough kick to make you want to hang on to the series it’s just unfortunate for Cheng Yi as the series makes him look bad in the first half. that’s a lot of episodes.
the first episode grabbed my attention. I like the ML in a more action oriented role. now I’m at episode 3 I noticed the storyline pacing can get a little dragging and the sound doesn’t feel right but it finally started having traction. I think this will just get better generating more tension.
Hmm this is not meant to be a sad drama but a growth drama. In terms of acting, as a fan of Cheng Yi, I'm not…
thanks. the reason I’m still watching is that I did see him in two previous dramas and enjoyed his style of acting. I am curious if it gets better, his acting that is, if it doesn’t he may have lost me as a fan. Not that it matters to him or anyone. I think half of the storyline is about his oppression and the other half will be his redemption. I just hope there’s enough episodes to show the story of the other critical characters.
is this suppose to be a sad drama series, I mean they insert some comedic moments but rally, after 18 episodes, practically more than half of it is to show how weak the ML is. I feel like I was watching Schindler’s list all over again. All I can do is feel sorry fo the ML and waiting for a moment of redemption. what’s even worse is the bad acting by Cheng Yi. I don’t meanntonoffend his fans just stating the obvious. who knows he might get lucky and his brother dies in episode 19 as his acting is worse than Cheng Yi’s.
to think LSF tell tang fang his identity at that moment, if they follow trope, then she couldve "wavered"…
with regard to acting Feng and Fang takes the lead over XQ, they should have made a series regarding their history instead. I find Cheng Yi’s acting in this series so lame. for some reason he couldn’t emote crying and anger convincingly. on top of that his character is the weaker one.
on episode 15, 38:45 minutes into the show the was a “Restart”. for those who knows or read the book can you please explain? he died and the AI reset his game? I am confused with this virtual world.
Liking the antagonist? No, he is not. He thought LSF is his "cheat LF" that will help him, and till now…
I am not a fan of antagonist roles but referring to acting he is so much more convincing in this show playing the antagonist. And I don’t have issues giving the show its chance to grow but if on the first third of the the whole show our lead is slow in its growth I can only sense a rapid change to compress the rest of the show.
I started liking this show only to be annoyed by the writing and direction of the lead actor. Cheng Yi can act better than what’s portrayed. He may start as weak and grow into but not to the point you start liking the antagonist. I mean is everyone else much more focused than him? At times the story is dragging and even confusing. After all this is suppose to be an AI generated world. I know I will upset his big fans but a true fan will be honest in their opinion and feelings allowing their favorite start to grow in the right direction and picking great scripts.
I’m like this series though not having read the book I am confused as to what is the Magic Codex and why does it have the power to shift people’s reality. I understand so far it’s a video game world he is transported into like Tron.
