Yeah I like to start fires just to spice things up. Their previous NC was so much better. This felt like two straight actors acting poorly in a BL scene. but I understand how you feel. I just wanted more fire.

I did listen to what you told me and gave it a chance. never liked it but hung on. Episode 11 was for me the best part. 12 was hastened and became more narrative. It’s like it was just the biggest misunderstanding and yet they went through all that only to end up in the altar.

I finally got it, the soup was the center of it all.

Ok I’ll believe that’s if BJ’s d@#k is 12 inches long because LJ’s legs were closed. 🤣🤣🤣

The irony of playing and investing with stock options made episode 11 the most interesting one so far. All along LQ treated XF like a commodity and th scene where XF kept the phone and scarf symbolizes he now controls the narrative. This episode seems to also presents the insider trading that happened a lot in the 90’s and day trading specially in option trading. Money was gained and lost in the same day. Though illegal it was rampant. LQ was widely greedy while XF learned the ropes and only one way to make money in stocks, play the long game. That’s what Warren Buffet always says. Ita the first time I enjoyed this show sadly it’s also the last episode. XF truly got his just revenge.

That’s what you call a quickie! I am guessing on this last NC scene Big Jane is the bottom. They could take lessons from Toptap and Min for sure. Give me back the old BJ and LJ dynamics. I feel like the second half is trying to be a love story but where’s the chemistry, and where’s the tension.

Changyang is a hunter through and though, like a predator lurking in the forest. he sees his prey and goes for it. and yet he acts so calm and cool.

I believe in the last two episode he will redeem himself but it’s somewhat my sad commentary of his life. His lover who seems to treat him like his personal sex slave and he acts like a doormat but also learning about his next steps. Still I am not a fan of these kind of dominance relationship.

We’re only at Episode 27 on Viki, so thank you to those who didn’t put a spoiler warning. 😂 TBH, I’ve made the same mistake in the past and was kindly reminded by another member. Now that I’ve said that… let me rant.

This show started so well. The balance between the two leads was great, and their dynamic was one of the things that made the drama so enjoyable. But like many C-dramas, it feels like they’ve simply run out of ideas and are now stretching the story for the sake of having more episodes.

This episode involving Zhi Li was so pathetic that I honestly couldn’t believe they made her this emotionally moronic. Whatever happened to strong women? Her character had so much potential, and yet suddenly she becomes incapable of making the most basic rational decisions.

And then there’s Meng Ting Hui. Her response to almost everything seems to be shouting and screaming at everyone except the Emperor. That’s not strong or intelligent. It’s just exhausting. The conversations have become increasingly non-intelligent, driven more by anger than by anything resembling strategy or logic.

And who else is tired of the Meng Ting Hui–Emperor dynamic? Ironically, the Emperor seems to have the shortest screen time despite being played by an A-rated actor. And that tells you something. Every minute he appears on screen, he becomes more interesting. He’s starting to feel like the real star of the show simply because I’m waiting for him to show up.

At this point, something has gone seriously wrong when I’m rooting for the bad guys. 😂 That’s usually my signal that the supposed good guys have completely lost my interest.

And maybe the comparison is unfair, but I just finished Ripe Town, which managed to tell a complex, tightly constructed story in only 12 episodes. It showed me how much better a drama can be when the writers know exactly where the story is going.

Royal Bethrothal started as something I was really enjoying. At Episode 27, it’s beginning to feel like an epic failure of storytelling and I’m honestly watching now just to see whether they can somehow pull it back.

If a series is written, produced and directed correctly then a moving art is made. one of the best screenplay I’ve seen in a c-drama which only reminds us that it doesn’t need to be 40 episodes long to create this masterpiece.

watching these two is like having my dessert after eating a big piece of steak. It’s sweet, creamy and utterly delicious.

It feels like I’ve been watching 70 episodes, long and arduous, painful and difficult and yet so loving and peaceful. This is not a love story, it’s an epic romance that I want to watch for 100 years. CY’s love is so immense, his intelligent so high, and his skill for strategies makes him a great hunter. CY rules this episode.

Japanese high school BL’s are so relatable, not much to understand even with the titles, actors are not covered with makeup, natural skin tones, even the cinematography feels like it came from a film camera. Let the story and the acting show it all.

I felt like watching Kill Bill 2, not as good as Kill Bill 1 but focused more on character development and, yeah, gore and death. Power to the killer bitches, have a glass of beer and a popcorn and enjoy the ride. Don’t think to much, it’s meant to entertain.

That is so true. our own environment as we grow up and what we were exposed helps defines our perceptions. Knowing we’re different is healthy and I respect your point of view. There is nothing wrong with different points of view, we’re just looking at different sides.

Why do I feel that QT is not dead but he chose to disappear…he only left a shoe. Why is t Changyang telling them what he saw or happened? What is the cryptic message on the end where he doesn’t want QL to know he’s back. Why is he making sure his SUV is prepared, is he going back to the mountain to search QT?

The first two episodes was on track but episode three’s story is another trope. I was expecting something less predictable. Watching parents act like kids and kids making up and fighting and then making up is so 7th grade. Writers could have created a better storyline to create tension suited for these two good actors. The line where Sun asked Bay why he started playing tennis again is exactly my point. Besides, how believable is a kid who hasn’t played tennis for a long time beats a kid who practiced daily and weekends to qualify for the National team. This is tennis and to reach that level of skill doesn’t happen overnight. They could have developed this story to build this point instead of rushing it. Hopefully the rest of the series doesn’t copy all the high school tropes of yore so these two actors can make their own path and doesn’t follow the footsteps of Bad Buddy, Head to Head, and High School and Frenemy and many more.
