I’m not sure but my thought is that it would have diluted the story. however I feel they should have told Barth’s…
oh no problem. I prefer a bit more about Barth, I feel the series is focused mostly on Tanka but these are just my thoughts.

then 6 episodes should be plenty for this series. like most Japanese BL.

Can someone explain to me why is it only 6 episodes?
I’m not sure but my thought is that it would have diluted the story. however I feel they should have told Barth’s story on the first episode so there’s context on his behavior instead of in passing on episode 4.

I finally caught up on all 5 episodes and I call episode 5 “Guilt”. I did this so I can have continuity in watching the show. I’ll save my final review when it’s done.

When guilt exposes our true feelings, and exposes our actions. This episode is about managing situations as they spiral and goes beyond one’s control. When action speaks louder than words, then truth is exposed. Barth openly states he is gay but never did Tanrak. As Barth from the beginning lusted for Tanrak, while Tanrak in his need to find his parent’s love would react to any one of gives him his basic need. Is this truly love? Do we really know the meaning of love at a tender young age. Can we differentiate love from lust?

Fourth’s acting truly shined as Tanrak creating the depth of emotions. No matter how this story ends, it will be happy depending on how you define your happiness. The Priest plays a significant albeit short role which reminds me of the book Les Miserable where the Priest too plays a pivotal role in the Jean Valjean’s transformation.

Zhang Ru Yun plays the perfect autistic savant in mathematical calculations, he even has the eye movement nailed down. it’s good to have a show that highlight this highly functional disorder in ancient China.

The movie dared to break Korean and Asian boundaries. The NC-17 scenes were executed with remarkable restraint and authenticity. They never felt forced or inserted merely for shock value. The kiss, in particular, was beautifully performed—so genuine that it became easy to forget these were actors simply fulfilling a role.

There will undoubtedly be those who dismiss the film because of its explicit content. But I can’t help wondering: if the same story were told between a man and a woman, would it be judged differently? Or if this were a European production, would you also look at it differently.

For me, Double Exposure is ultimately a work of art. Art, when created without malice or exploitation, is an expression of humanity. This film may challenge its audience, but beneath its explicit imagery lies a sincere exploration of intimacy, vulnerability, and the courage to tell an unconventional story.

with only 6 episodes I figured this will be packed emotionally, it written and produced correctly. and since GMMTV is presenting their two biggest hitters they can only invest all they have to make this right. and for Gem and Fourth’s turning point into a more mature roles, this definitely separates them from their high school series. and as a catholic, I am curious as to how a predominantly Buddhist country will present my religion and beliefs. so I waited patiently until the 5th episode was released to watch the series. and after the first episode my feelings was correct…emotionally charged…and so I watch with very watchful eyes as to how my faith is presented and the challenges that faces the believers. and I have my favorite Taiwanese BL “your name engraved herein” as the bar to measure this series. so far episode 1 has not disappointed me at all.

after two episodes this show feels like Swiss cheese full of holes…full of tropes yet still couldn’t get the stories cohesive.

I thought his acting was good actually. Yeah, pacing wise the movie moved way too fast. It was kind of hard to…
I agree it seems too much was crammed into two hours. poor editing affects impacts the the actor even with great acting skills and he’s still a great actor in my opinion. I love the Condor Series but always struggle how the stories are converted to movies.

Watching the movie as a full version shows more fluid continuity and I can only imagine if it watched this is a series, maybe choppy. I agree the storyline lack depth and foundation, the affinity to his dog, why a Singaporean would go so far North but he has his reasons…the story though has potential but in a low budget show with basically three casts and the most beautiful view they do succeed in creating an enjoyable movie. the acting is good, not great, the chemistry is sparking and I honestly want to visit this place and just go on a sabbatical. on that it met my needs.

I was doubtful how good the storytelling will be with only 20+ minutes and 10 episodes but the heat was up early, picked up steam between the two leads and now we’re left to watch and get pulled in deeper into their world…like Secret Relationship it’s peeling the onion skin and we get to build our anxiousness and anger. I hope the writing will be as good.

I finally got the chance to watch this Xiao Zhan movie and honestly I was somewhat disappointed. his acting wasn’t the best though really appreciated the effort for the cast to speak Mongolian. the locations were beautiful but the script and the storyline was disjointed, full of gaps because of bad editing. there were more holes than a Swiss cheese. this really made it choppy. this would have been better as a series due to the numerous key characters.

I didn’t really expect to like this show but interesting enough, I really enjoyed it. So many things went right…a shot rom-com with a great funny script and the acting was right on, after all it’s harder to act funny. Speaking of actors, handsome but not distractingly handsome faces, just the right amount of sculpted bodies unlike some of the twink-like lanky and bulemic-looking Chinese actors, and the chemistry of these three odd trouple is sparkling. I call it a mini-skirt series, it’s short, sweet, and covers the essentials.

18 minutes long and 6.5 minutes for the intro and closing credits leave 11.5 minutes of storytelling. that in itself tells a lot. only a great scriptwriter, director and film editor can make a successful show based on this. maybe it’s meant to be a movie chopped into pieces but the show fails on editing and script writing. the storyline is hard to follow…gonna drop it specially so many choices with BL.

Some of the scenes are not in the manhwa, like the details of sky's ruined audition scene, or Kajorn pickin up…
yes that is right. the bunny bed scene is the only thing repeating and I know they’ll address that but more of it earlier would have added more context. I still love the intensity of the series.

I see what you mean. the manhwa/novel is very long, and there’s a lot to unpack. i feel like the pacing so far…
I see. Jay’s role is critical and without reading the novel maybe that’s what I am missing.

I really like revenge concept shows but only if this trope is done cleanly…with only 10 episodes and and after 5 episodes they still haven’t fully developed their relationship I feel like I’ve seen this so many times in series that just fell flat in the end. I’d rather see our protagonist resist the Director’s manipulative ways to win him and get his revenge instead. then make it a real revenge series…because red flags characters like this has proliferated so many BL’s that society will think it’s ok. now he hasn’t said “No”…and maybe why I like “Reset” as a romantic revenge movie storyline instead. I hope I’m wrong and this series really lives up to its name…

I don't understand in in episode six why it appears that some random person, is it the subber, makes a comment…
I think the subber wanted to educate the viewers there are significance in these dates as the scene was a little longer but may have ran out of time. still a very somber scene beautifully done.
