So many BL dramas do not spend time in building the relationship of the main characters, this show does it so well. How it connects the first episode to the second, the editing is very well done. The second episode shows more in depth of how things happened so audiences are not left out thinking. How their relationship blooms. Enjoying two tough characters showing their soft side. And thank you HKBL for using real Cantonese accent and not dubbed in Mandarin. I’m miss HK more and more hearing their flowing Chinese words.

Please go back to when he was first handcuffed by his wife while others watch as his wife tries to have sex with him. Whether there is penetration or not this is also forced sex. This was the lowest point of the show which dehumanized Fan Fan. He did not consent. And after he still did not consent to him. He could have removed the handcuffs and be gentler. But he dominated Fan Fan by doing this.
I’m struggling with the scriptwriters of this series. is this the best sad story they can come up with and on the 9th episode. Just let someone shoot Jet and have a sad funeral then move on. But wait…there has to be redemption for the next episode. pleeeeease bring back my dark and mysterious Big Jane, not the pathetic dog with his tails between his legs. Grrrrrrer
Reminiscent of old HK days, drugs, crime, and everything else that goes with it gives the place so much character…and HKBL always reflect these lifestyles…gritty and dangerous plus two handsome lead makes a dynamite series. No shipping needed just pure adrenaline.
This show is aptly titled because it’s like watching the water evaporates as the T shirt hungs to dry. Purposedly slow but also testing my patience to egg it to move faster but each time I feel I want to go fast, a secret is revealed. It’s like peeling every layer of the onion and I cry in agony everytime. Now that I know more, I suddenly want to know is the why…why can’t Netflix just show all the episodes?
This series brings me back to My School President…when Fourth and Gemini were young teens…before innocence was lost…when young actors were enjoying while acting their youthful roles. Both Yujeen and Yugene has the same exuberance and youthful behavior that truly shines. What’s lacking is the beautiful music and OST in My School President but hey…can’t win ‘em all. Really loving the chemistry…it’s through the roof.
It’s one of those shows that I want to wait til it’s complete and binge….but…the writing is so on-the-edge-of-the-chair creative I’m willing to wait every week to satisfy and satiate my craving for Hitchcock-style mystery shows. it’s not a who-dun-it Agatha Christie show but a more deceptive psychological thrillers-mystery.

you are absolutely right about this series and J dramas hence I’m attracted to their Hitchcockian-style of mystery writing. it’s deep, sometimes deceptive and multifaceted.
I personally enjoyed and liked this version maybe because the Thai actors were handsome and attractive, believable, angrier and meaner, but when it comes to making dark shows the Thai’s have it cornered.
This show started wearing me out on the second half of season two…and season three made me feel like I’m on life support hanging on to my life until the end. I ran out of steam. Weiter need to know when to end when it’s good.
What happens when idols step into BL? In scandal-averse, cancel-culture Korea, I actually applaud them for venturing outside the carefully constructed image their fans expect. Whether they’re straight, gay, or simply actors doing their job is beside the point…we’re watching a character, not auditing their private lives. And let’s be honest, idol BL isn’t exactly Brokeback Mountain. There are limits, especially when agencies are protecting their precious merchandise machines. But that’s okay. Sometimes the yaoi fangirls just need two handsome boys, a lingering look, and enough chemistry to make the imagination do the rest.
And Play Me knows exactly what it is: a simple story about first love, misunderstanding, reunion, and a second chance. No emotional roller coaster, no 20 episodes of suffering, and thankfully nobody needs to die before the last episode. It’s more It’s a Small World than Mission: Impossible…cute, colorful, sweet, with a surprisingly memorable soundtrack. The chemistry works, the production is good enough, and I genuinely enjoyed the ride. Not every BL needs to change your life; sometimes it just needs to pull you out of the doldrums, make you smile, and give you a couple of hours of harmless giddiness. And frankly, I’ll take that.
