It think it was essentially an explanation of how the box that brought them together again was buried - the origin…
Ah okay, I see. Lol wish they'd showed that more clearly. Thanks for clarifying!

I have never watched a drama from any country that has made me burst out laughing almost every single episode because of the absurdity and the way the somewhat digestible, diluted plot unfolded. I have also never watched an Asian drama that contained this much kissing with great chemistry between the casts. I mean just that subway scene - wow. Lol seriously, kudos to the Affinity team!

That last few seconds of the last episode where it showed the past life Jang Mu Jin taking the spell book from the box, what was that suppose to mean? I feel like I missed something or the significance of it?

You're very welcome. Yes, the novel definitely will help fill you in on their reasonings and emotions to understand the characters better. I hope you enjoy the novel as much as I did!

Is the drama closely follow the novel or not
Yes and no. For the most part, the major plots in the novel were in the drama, but the drama had additional characters and scenes that were not in the novel. Also, the drama told the story differently from the novel. In the novel, it was a linear story (no flashbacks or separation for 6/7 years), where as the drama chose to add the years of separation to do flashbacks and present time intercrossing until the climax and converges the timeline (which I thought was done beautifully - definitely nicely heightened emotions). The novel was helpful in letting the readers understand FL's (and ML's) thoughts and actions whereas the drama might not have shown as clearly - which is probably why for the intense break-up scene, you can see some understanding her and some completely not (even though this scene did not exist in the novel). The age of the ML of when things happened was also a bit different. Another difference is the ML didn't start up a company or worked with the FL's company at all. He became a professor at a university - which is why in one of the extra ending clips, you see him giving a lecture (which was one of the epilogues in the novel). These are just some major points I can think of.

Title The Glory
This is one of the rare times where the ultimate villain is so well written and acted. Scary, despicable, and reasonable as to how he was able to get away with it for so long (flying under the radar) and why it's so hard to take him down.

PS - Loved the cameo of the plot of Faithful and also its 2 characters appearing in this drama!

Title Dominion and Devotion Spoiler
Now THIS is how you successfully write a strong female main character. Someone who is smart, strong, yet not afraid…
I know lots of people were disappointed with the ending, but I find it acceptable. It's not a cop out or like those other dramas that writes a bad/sad ending just for the sake of wanting to make it a BE. It made sense that he had to die in order for her to fully, and smoothly, become an emperor that everyone is content with. His decision to die for her future is logical and in character. Don't get me wrong, it's sad. I'm sad and shed more tears than I thought I would for this short mini drama. They really tugged at my heart, but they all made logical sense. I have read some suggestions on how they could have written it logically into a happy ending, but I feel that wouldn't have made the ending of this beautiful drama as impactful as they did. I would go as far to say that making this into a happy ending would have decreased the quality of this drama.

Now THIS is how you successfully write a strong female main character. Someone who is smart, strong, yet not afraid to show her emotions without it decreasing her intelligence. I inflated my rating to a full 10 because of how impressed I am with the script, the acting, and the music. The main leads were both smart and whenever their plans succeeded, I couldn't help but smile widely. There were no useless or annoying characters - everyone was on par. I just wish more dramas (short or long) can have this type of quality!

I especially want to note about the ending, which I will post below as it contains mild spoilers.

Omg lol, this was so ................ I mean I knew going in that this movie version of kdrama Secret Garden was going to be bad, but I didn't think it'd be this bad - even having Wallace Chung couldn't save it. In fact, it feels like a big joke though I can't tell if he was in on it or not!

Yeah... I'm not sure the idea behind the plot lol but I think that's a fair guess! Sort of like "my sister died so you need to sleep forever as well" maybe.

It really is a beautiful short story but I couldn't rate it higher than 7 as it was too... mellow? And perhaps I just wasn't in the mood for mellow and smooth short story but even then, I can recognize and appreciate the thought and care that went into this mini drama :)

Title This World Is Not Real Spoiler
Lol what is that ending!? Am I to assume, from the last scene, that the FL probably died in the car accident and it's the ML that is actually in a coma. FL's brother wants revenge for his sister's death so has this elaborate plan for the ML and what we saw throughout this dream world/reality was all in the ML's coma dream and part 2 of the brother's elaborate plan?? Lol what....

Does anybody else have a different guess/interpretation?

I wasn't planning on watching this drama, but after hearing the reviews and recommendations, I decided to check it out. And wow, I'm so glad I did!! I'm only on episode 6 and it's got me tearing up, laughing, and tearing up and repeat. Never has a drama made me laugh and cry, and sometimes at the same time, so fast within an episode (and within the same scene). It is truly amazing how they can convey something that can be heavy and depressing so naturally and easy to watch. The humour doesn't downplay the reality or the heavy emotions - if anything, it sometimes highlights it. Really loving this drama so far! :)

I just finished this drama and wanted to find some similar stuff to fill the void…tbh male lead is not my type…
You might enjoy Love & Bid Farewell as the ML turns into the villain lol. It's one of those short dramas with each episode only around 15mins though, but man was it a wild ride. it's a rare drama where they made the ML totally unredeemable yet you get all kinds of complicated feelings while watching the downfall - or at least I did.
