Thank you!! Kinda scary how I saw some comments where people are saying things like, "aww poor guy, he realised…
Yeah... I was reading through the comments before watching this drama that supported his actions or found him romantic so I thought it wouldn't be so bad. Then after a few episodes, I thought I was watching the wrong show!
I can't believe I kept putting off on watching this drama for so long! What a hidden gem!! Absolutely loved it - if only more period dramas were like this where the FL stayed badass till the end and ML on par with her. The supporting casts and coupling were just as great. Loved the script and plot!
I'm currently on episode 10 and I had to come back here a few times to check if I'm watching the right short drama. Like most viewers mentioned, the romance tag should really be removed - this is NOT romance! 100% thriller. The intro mv is a dead giveaway now that I see this short drama as it really is lol. I remember thinking "what a creepy, dark, and foreboding feeling this intro mv is giving me" and now I can safely say, my feeling was correct. Talking about the intro mv, I must say they did an amazing job on it! It essentially tells us what it's about! I will continue watching as I am in the mood for some psychological thrillers but still a bit disappointed it's not satisfying my romance fill.
Tell me how you feel about the ending:A) You’ve made peace with it and find it satisfying.B) You are still disappointed. My…
I was actually very satisfied with the ending! Don't get me wrong, I could totally go for more episodes/scenes of them but I feel it would start to feel watered down? This drama was pretty compact and there wasn't any filler scenes, drag or watered down plots so for them to end it like this, it was perfect - very fitting! A very clear, happy ending despite not explicitly showing us everything.
In some angles, he really looks like Luo Yun Xi! I keep seeing flashes of Luo Yun Xi as I'm watching Cheng Xi's Song lol. His acting is pretty good for a newbie - hope he gets more projects in the near future!
I was not expecting to cry or tear up as much as I did lol. The plot seemed simple and overdone enough but there was just something about how they told the story, visually and audibly, that really moved me! Brought back so much memories/nostalgia with Utada's First Love - just hits those feelings spot on!
I really, really wanted to love this drama as I really like Hong Yao and Zhao Yuan Yuan (seen them both in separate works as supporting characters) and the synopsis was intriguing. However, this drama seems to be missing something and I just couldn't get into it - no matter how much I enjoy watching/looking at Hong Yao and Zhao Yuan Yuan. I stayed as long as I could but after seeing an obvious editing/continuation problem, I sadly decided to drop this drama. I hope Hong Yao can get another ML role in a drama that's of higher quality in the near future!

So... that ending was not the ending I was expecting? Like it felt incomplete. There should be one more episode left to show whether she stays in the past or went back to her own timeline!
How did u watch ep 4? Unless you brought the subscription
Oh sorry, I watched it without subs...! In case you also understand mandarin and don't really need subs, here's the link: https://gimy.app/vod/197767.html
Unpopular opinion here but I liked the original ending! It wasn't open-ended to me like how some people were saying. It's very clear they are together. The way this drama ended fits the comedy and style of the drama. I am very happy with it. I mean, they made me shed tears beforehand but overall am very satisfied!
I did not like the alternate ending - it made me feel sad, even though the intention was for a "happier" ending. She had to give up her passion for cooking and could only get back to it years later and to me, that was more heartbreaking.
(Although if adding the alternative ending was a tactic to get viewers to appreciate the original ending more, I'd say it was a success! XD)
Oh my god my heart. George Hu has gotten even more charming than before. How is this possible! And I've really come to adore Pets Tseng too. I can watch them all day so with the intriguing plot line, it's safe to say they've really hooked me! Just finished episode 4 and had to come here to share my adoration for the main cast lol.
What a lovely surprise this drama turned out to be! I was not expecting to laugh as much as I did, or tear up…
It's so hilarious how the door to that office NEVER actually closes when they close it for meetings XD Must be an inside long running joke for the team hahaha
I also really love the small jabs they make on how things typically run in romantic dramas haha. Nicely done!
