Ok, so I give up. I don't know what's happening with this drama and I've decided just to not care…
I agree! To be honest, I feel like they could've just condensed the learning kungfu/building up her relationship with YWY, and got rid of a bunch of the maid-infighting/Song Daniang/Zhu Guanjia. I hope they don't end up rushing the hell out of the last few eps :(

@kiacii The speculation why there won't be a second season with the same cast is because the cast include A-List/rising stars who all have projects lined up, so it would be quicker/more economical to just recast.

Title Princess Agents Spoiler
How is Yuan Song still alive and so alert after getting his arm chopped off... He should have lost a shitload of blood (I don't see Chun'er knowing how to properly apply a tourniquet), and he was in perfect conditions for infections... It was like he slept off getting his arm chopped off without any medical help >___>

Omg lol... the scene when CQ came back for the XL Soldiers was so dramatic and cool but so unrealistic?? The Wei soldiers just stood there and waited for her to come through?? Then all backed away when she killed YWH... It was like 500 vs 30 injured soldiers... they could've just shot them or all swarmed them and killed them all.

Ugh, I don't like either YWY or YX very much now... I understand where YX is coming from, and he makes a fascinating anti-villain but I just want to wrap CQ up into a blanket and drag her to a house up in the mountains with Xiao Ce and Yuan Song where they can all live out the rest of their lives bickering happily.

Ugh, the director/scriptwriter really wants me to dislike YWY >_>
@silvermcv

"in the book"
I think those three words speak for themselves. This isn't the end of the book and none of that has happened in the drama yet. I literally said that I would be okay with it if CQ said it was okay, but right now, she obviously does not want to be called XE. She told YWY that her name is CQ, not XE to his face when he called her XE. It's disrespectful to call someone a name that they have asked you not to use.

Also, you still haven't explained what you meant by "He doesn't force anything on her." How is a master giving a slave a new name not forcing the name on her? He told her that her new name was XE and then made her smile about it. She didn't have a choice in her new name unless she wanted to risk her life and her sisters lives.

Why are replying to me just to tell me that you're going to continue doing something that I said bothered me... it's seriously just petty. It's not like I said that everyone should immediately stop saying XE and use CQ. I use CQ because of my opinion, if you disagree with it, use XE or whatever name you want. You don't need anyone's permission, and I honestly don't care lol. I'm only concerned with the storytelling.

Yeah, like I understand /why/ he keeps calling her XE, but it's just disrespectful to her right now. The writers could have had him accept that she isn't "his" XE anymore, and call her CQ for now, and then when they're on good terms again, have him accidentally slip up and call her XE, but then have CQ say "You can call me XE if you want." Bam! Problem solved! Cute OTP-referencing name restored!

Tbh, my issue isn't with YWY helping CQ, it's more with those CQ vs. YWY fight sequences that end with her in his arms and then that makes everything feel kinda overdone when everything is added up?

@silvermcv I never said it bothered anyone but me so I don't see the point of that comment? I was writing that comment (as myself, speaking for myself) about something that bothered me. But as you mention it, I've seen other people say the same thing in other places so yeah.

Also, he literally forced the name XE on her. He said he didn't like her JXL name, and that her new name was XE. She was his slave at that point, and was willing to do anything to keep her and her sisters alive so she didn't have a choice but to accept. If she tells him now "okay cool keep calling me that" then it's fine, but she's done the opposite of that.

And there was that moment in episode 1 where XY asked her name, and CQ said that she would tell her his name when she was his equal, and the name she ended up sharing with him was CQ, and not XE.

I feel like the writers are like, "CQ is a strong, baddass and independent woman*"

*Conditions apply**
**The condition is YWY needing the opportunity to dramatically swoop in and save her so the audience can ship them more.

Like if happened once or twice, okay, but like... some of it is just coming off really contrived now.

They keep putting CQ in situations where YWY has to play the hero and hold her in his arms -__-

Also, it's really screwed up that he keeps calling her Xing'er when she's told him her name is CQ now... like, it's a name that he forced on her when she was his slave and she had no choice about using it...

Does not anyone see the SPOILER you should tick if you are going to mention something about the drama. I am currently…
Jesus christ, calm the hell down. While we're at it, do you want to mark the entire synopsis as a spoiler too? People will always disagree on what is considered a spoiler. I only consider detailed things that were revealed in the latest episodes while it's ongoing and the final ending spoilers, which is an extremely common thing to do on the internet. This is an ongoing drama, and people should know better to read all the comments if they're some 10 episodes behind. It's the internet, not spoiler-police academy. I've been spoiled before, and it sucked but you know what I learned? To use my common sense simply not to read comments until I've watched the latest episodes instead of getting angry at others for my own decision to read comments.

The spoiler system isn't very well-designed as it blocks the whole comment, not just parts of the comment that are spoilery, and the person clicking in won't know what the spoiler is for (the most recent episodes, or the entire book).

I can't say I'm frustrated with Chu Qiao, only that I don't understand her. I don't understand…
Hmm, to be honest, I don't really blame CQ. I think we understand YWY a lot more because we're seeing everything from his perspective too, but only has her side of the story. Like, from her perspective, the facts are:

1. She saw slaves being killed for a game by people of YWY's status.
2. She saw YWY kill her brother.
3. YWY let her be mistreated by others in the household.
4. She heard from YWY's grandfather that he was planning for her to die.
5. YWY stopped Yan Xun from escaping which lead to his capture.
6. YWY almost killed her.
7. YWY didn't explain everything until way afterwards (which granted, not his fault. But still).
8. YWY is a crafty spy with countless schemes up his sleeve.

Like, we know everything about YWY, but CQ doesn't... She's rightfully suspicious of him and his words. How does she know for sure that he didn't actually want to kill her and only made up the story of her fake death and her brother's death because he found out she's still alive and he doesn't want her to cause trouble for him? She thinks that he's loyal to Wei. YWY going, "Well actually, this is what REALLY happened," won't do much, he needs to show through his actions, which is what he's starting to do now. But it'll take longer for her to believe because she needs to be sure that what he's doing is actually for her, and not just for one of his schemes.

I wonder how they're going to wrap this up in the next 20+ episodes. Feels like they've been dragging…
Yeah... I'm not so worried about CQ/YWY, but they've set up so much about the feng yun ling and jianghu spies and how there will be chaos if they come back... hopefully they've got plans for that storyline, especially with the concubine appearing...

I'm hoping that it won't end up being a deus ex machina so they can win the battles they need to win and wrap everything up >__>

I'm having flashbacks to Hua Qian Gu. I remember getting to the last 10 episodes and everyone was like ??? because there was still a good chunk of the book to go.

It looks like the only options are either they didn't film the last 1/3 of it, or the last few 10 eps are wild/rushed as hell, or there's a "season 2" like Glory of Tang Dynasty or Qing Yun Zhi of episodes they've filmed but ran out of time to air, or they changed the ending so it fits.
