On The Turning Road Dec 6, 2023
A short and rather sad story of a young gay man in the jungle of a big city. True and hopeful ... Definitely worth watching.
On See You after Quarantine? Dec 6, 2023
A micro-series reacting to the current state of society in one afternoon or evening. It is innovative and original in that the lockdown brought together two individuals from other countries (Taiwan, Japan) and even through an old camera. I would characterize it by immediacy, cuteness, you won't come across any deception anywhere, insidiousness and an excellent rating on MDL and IMDb won't deny it. One of the "young people" is played by the Japanese Akihiro Kawai, who will be 40 years old next year and even the big age difference was not very noticeable. The director won't deny it, and at least cast his favorite Aaron Lai from Be Loved in House in a supporting role.
On Ai no Kotodama Dec 6, 2023
A film about two young men who decided two years ago to live and share a bed together and look like teenagers with their skinny figures. The story is simple, but I appreciate that without violence, condemnation, intrigue. Love, friendship, JEALOUSY, all pleasant and Japanese cute (except for those Tachibana teeth). It's just a shame about a low-quality copy when one doesn't have such an intense overall experience.

After a short time, I went back in time and watched the series. Just the name of the director is a partial guarantee for me that the series will not be below average. And it was confirmed. From the point of view of categorization, it's not a BL series in my opinion, it's a series in itself, an original, it's not just an outpouring of sex scenes, on the contrary! This piece is hot on the heels of the best Japanese projects I've ever seen (Sei No Gekiyaku, The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, Fujoshi Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru, HIS-film, Life Senjou no Bokura, Bara no Soretsu). The characters had depth unlike many flat characters in BL projects, they were played excellently by actors who are actually ten years older than their roles. The story arouses emotions and the ending is not quite a fairy tale, which is why many reviewers on other servers "punish" it. The erotic (not only gay) aspect is also strong, the music gently completes some scenes. I recommend it only to those viewers who like East Asia.
Love, devotion, jealousy. This film loosely follows Ai No Kotodama, but only in theme, it is not a sequel. In my opinion, it is even better than the first one. Anyone who can switch to the Japanese "style" will find a very cute piece supported by Hiromufi's extremely well-played (and Japanese-style) slightly eccentric character. In fact, what drives some individuals to insanity deserves admiration, as it was beautifully and stylishly shot. The second character wasn't bad either (Tamura Shinji) and the "eared" Sawako magically completed it. The music is excellent, especially towards the end.
On Red Wine in the Dark Night Dec 6, 2023
The story disappointed me during the film and did not meet my expectations from the beginning. In the end, the character of the psychopath Win was the most controversial and quite incomprehensible. But I don't mind mystically. On the contrary, the cast was excellent. Fluke (Wine), then still a teenager, whom we know from the later projects My Bromance 1 and 2 and the series Until Wee Meet Again, Mild (Mai) from TharnType and other sympathizers Night, Boy and Tee. I admire that, according to the request of the creators, the young actors played much more erotic scenes than in other BL in which they act. Overall: not a very digestible story for me, all other rating criteria highly above average and dominated by the cast.

In my opinion, both projects, the series and this film, are of excellent quality. The series is perhaps one more legendary hair more and I recommend that viewers DEFINITELY watch it as well. 13 years is an awfully long time, so in the story it was a little against my skin that Shun took back the wandering Nagisa without much resistance, human dignity. I'm not surprised that even in the 21st century there will be many men who like men try to "convert" or hide behind a relationship with a woman, blend in with the crowd, not everyone is as proud and self-aware as someone else. But human beings are different, and love can affect a particular person in a completely different way, including personality. Otherwise everything is almost perfect. Impeccable performances with excellently chosen likeable "older" actors (compared to the series), the village, the processing, the overall impression.
On It Gets Better Dec 5, 2023
Three parallel stories are intertwined with the whole film, and at first it looks as if they were not related, to eventually completely combine completely. You have to see this brilliant piece several times to understand all the contexts and perceive each scene, because one next to the other is unique. The gay line is mixed mainly with Transgender and Travesti line. Those who have an understanding of the different differences of sexuality and the identity of human beings will certainly be absorbed by the film, because this problem has its excellent quality, story and acting quality in the project. And from my point of view, the viewer also spiced up with extremely loose actors in the roles of Tonmai-E, Fai-E and young monk Haiz, who receives newcomer Din-A and Suprov played their female roles and Saitarn, Tonlew, Docmai ...
When I made a correction of translation into Czech and everything again after less than a year, when I saw the film for the first time, it fallen (the viewer must be very careful to understand everything at the end) and even though I do not normally look for every film on the theme of Trans, so I cried like a turtle at the end, realized how it was all well and originally thought out ... I can only interpret in the waves only in two ways: either DIN or HAIZ just imagined in dreams or it is at a time, When DIN was no longer in the monastery and HAIZ neither ...
In the end, it is a piece of the director of the current series The Eclipse - Tanwarin Sukkhapisit, which for this film at two world film festivals for directing and the screenplay collected most of the awards (7 victories and 5 nominations). One victory belongs to the best side role actors - Prama Imanothai (FAI -E), this actor also plays in the next movie I saw - Driver

A series for those who want to fall asleep in front of the screen and watch the entire mini-story in one afternoon or evening. Five new actors and it was impossible to tell that there was a ten-year age difference between them. What to add. Just South Korea. There is no point in writing the details here, and I can describe my feeling in two words: restful refreshment. I recommend watching it sometime on a relaxing weekend or at Christmas.
On Mermaid’s Jade Dec 2, 2023
I like historical Chinese films, spiced with a mystical and even fairy tale story and spiced with subtle BL relationships between the men of that time, and I want to thank you for the translation into Slovak. Here on GT, several such films are listed (China, Korea), Han Zi Gao's film The Male Queen and The Untamed with a rating of 9.1 on MDL are missing here. Mermaid's Jade even boasts some minor BL scenes that I didn't even count on, apparently it got past Chinese censorship as a relationship between a minister and a mermaid (but it was a mermaid ha ha). Good acting, story a little rushed (but I don't mind at all) and a surprise ending that no one expects, with beautiful music and you can kind of guess the ending or rethink the story, which for me was the most amazing ending. For me, very beautiful, deep and I would like to watch it again sometime.
On My Sweet Dear Dec 2, 2023
This time, I'll probably go against the flow, even the enthusiasm of the duo ŠK+Susannah, who translated the series superbly into Slovak. The story is appalling, out of control, illogical to the point of embarrassment. And the entire series was built on it, which was saved by other aspects of the evaluation. It wasn't enough for the owner of the restaurant that they have such success and chef Yoon Do Gun with a Michelin star, and she tried to trip him up with the help of an uneducated amateur Choi Jung Woo (actor Jang Eu Soo, who we know here from the series Where Your Eyes Linger or Nobleman). . Besides, the ending of the story didn't appeal to me either (forgiveness, final contest). The actors played it well, but I didn't believe their relationship one iota. Everything seemed forced to me, and the one kiss at the end and the fake hug didn't make much sense to me that these were adult characters and not schoolboys in knee socks and shorts, which is the most common form of BL series.

Another of the wave of cooking series where one of the main roles is played by the supporting character of rich Bie from the series Bite Me, the actor with the nickname Gameplay plays the cooking-obsessed Tops here and it must be said that the character is very convincing. The story itself is solid, low-budget, the episodes are super short, and Tops' counterpart, Jeff, convinced me more and more from the start that I could almost fully compare him to Tops. If I had to rate, I was most impressed by the cute acting of the two and the music.

Title Bite Me
A series from a culinary environment, the overall footage is quite long, original.
What I didn't like: the length, some scenes dragged on like snot, I'm sure the creators wanted it that way, but this time it didn't affect me as much as the screwed up and excellently rated Korean series Light On Me, if the footage was shortened by 60-70 %, nothing would happen at all. There were also some inconsistencies in the story with the older characters, incoherence, and I absolutely did not like the strange, jerky twists and turns and behavior of the main character Aek, especially towards Aue, whose actions continued to lose any dignity in me, and the final shots of the two were for me so fake in the last episode.
What I liked: absolutely fantastic culinary shots of Thai cuisine (10 for processing, 6 for length = 8 in total). Very solid acting, especially Aue and some others (not all, e.g. clumsy acting by Vich with a baby face) other characters (8), music, when I took only one point out of ten (9).

Oh that Taiwan, it gives me trouble, as in this case of the freshly broadcast and SK translated series. I fear the time when China invades this island country and drains it of freedom of speech and freedom, similar to how Hong Kong was returned by the British years ago. The story is quite complex and there is little time for it. Likewise, the controversial character of the two beings Yu Shi-ho and Noah-a can be unpleasant for many viewers. But overall a big plus for me. Many will probably sing the praises of Yi Da Dian's acting, but I have to give kudos to Blake Chang, both his acting and the Wu Zheng character he portrayed, there wasn't enough room for the other couple. Great music and processing. Hopefully there will be a sequel. Hats off to Taiwan.

Despite the high rating of the series on IMDb and MDL, this Japanese (partially musical) series did not excite me as much as other viewers. Above all, the actors did not convince me of the "something extra" that should have been between them, and even though I understand that it is based on the template, influenced by the manga and therefore the "production" style, which is understandable, I missed the connection between the story and the actors.

First of all, I would like to say that the series was directed for the first time by 23-year-old Phiravich Attachitsataporn, who we know as an actor from several projects. one of the secondary roles. In the main roles, the creators bet on two guys who were not good at acting, and I had to get used to the first parts, especially Phobo. After the big twist, I admitted to myself that they chose the type of actor for Phobos well. This deep plot, which is not typical for BL series, already accompanied all other parts until the end. I was discouraged from giving it a higher rating because the slower pace sometimes dragged on a lot (the sixth episode, the seventh is even all just in memories), I missed a little more physicality between Phobos and Nut, four years of time jump, in the final episode another year, but Nut still has the same styled hair, etc. Among the positives, I highlight the fact that the story could really happen in real life and it is not a fairy tale, there were no disgruntled ex-girlfriends and everything revolved around the main couple.
On Skinship Season 2 Nov 23, 2023
After watching the Check Out Special Episode, where both actors caught my eye and it has a great response among the BL fan public, I went back to their original project SkinShip. It's like heaven and bagpipes.
Skinship the first series is a celebration of horror, BL 0%, an advertisement for dermatological products and both girls' characters are so extremely annoying, overplayed, as if I was annoyed at night by a horribly large and hungrily buzzing mosquito. The second series - here the creators realized the crap from the first series, BL approx. 30%, but otherwise no better, maybe the last episode has improved and is getting a little closer to BL production. In the case of actors Chahub and Best, the makers have completely failed to use their acting potential. My rating: one for two points, two for five points. The entire crew apparently took the bait from the extremely critical comments on the net for Skinship and started working on a new series, the zero episode of which (Check Out) is the complete opposite, a bomb, with great viewership and feedback compared to this unsuccessful series.
