The idea of an arranged marriage is good, but when I look back on the whole series and everything has matured in me, I cannot give the highest rating, especially for the story, from the initial enthusiasm. The main characters were contradictory, often nothing and nowhere moved for a long time, weepy scenes, big lumps of sugar fell from the screen towards the end, how sweet it was, as if it were a Christmas fairy tale. But why not. Music very solid. Perhaps the two main actors deserve admiration, because there were a lot of kissing scenes in the second part and I can imagine what they had to suffer, actually I didn't even recognize Liana at first that she was Fighter from Why R U. The other actors were ok, but I felt that it's all just played, nicely recited, but that's all. Khondiao naive, Yi with a beautiful face and a flabby body. It's just that after Medvídek and KinnPorsche, a turning point occurred in me, and I now look at the "rest" of the production with a different, sharper perspective. 68107
A pleasant Korean series, which, although nothing really deviated from the line, was gentle, human, could happen in reality, the actors were watchable and likeable, there were not so many Asian clichés. It can be watched in one evening, it is two hours in total.
In the first parts, the processing seemed cheap to me, the horrible girl was as nice as a burst ulcer on the bottom (but the dirty word would have sounded better). Gradually, with the arrival of Holland, everything improved and the overall impression of the series is very nice, and the ocean also plays its role there. But what really got me was Han. Not only does he look absolutely gorgeous, but he handled his character with immense humility, love, and conviction, bringing this little Korean gem to the top for me.
The point of this movie was probably not to portray a more intimate relationship (chemistry) between Seto and Aikawa to the viewer, because it was practically zero. The film balances between comedy and romance, but of course the Asian one, in this case the Japanese one, and for the European viewer, it can slip to the point of farce due to dullness, affectation and convulsions. Beautifully recited in Japanese (played). But that's just a point of view that we won't change. The second angle is addressing a wide spectrum of viewers, and that is what the creators are primarily interested in, to better perception and tolerance towards the LGBT minority. So when I got rid of the slightly antagonistic relationship to the Japanese style of filming, I got a slightly above-average picture, which I appreciate because of its impact on the mainly Asian audience.
This series completely deviates from everything experienced so far and is not a typical BL project, as it might seem. It takes a whole day (24 hours) to track and I don't recommend this project to users here who think that Asia is just "shit", to quote correctly. After all, the seasoned Slovak duo Škaredé Káčatko+Sussanah gave up on the translation. Why Medvídek is the way it is, a perceptive viewer will only understand when watching it and that it was also broadcast for the widest possible family audience, so the elements of BL are greatly reduced for understandable reasons, but this does not at all detract from the dominance of the story, on the contrary, it permeates the more the main theme - love that overcomes such difficulties as hatred, malice and death.
Among the acting performances, I would highlight Sarin, who played the "Medvíkov" role of Tofu perfectly with his facial expression. Job as Nut had the possibility of greater character development and handled this role brilliantly, although in the first parts I would have liked to slap him for the "piss off", but the viewer will learn everything why it was so, by constant returns to the complex and cruel past. From the others, the female roles of a mother and a bitch. Even Keunchai, a beautiful big dog with a massive tail, played his "role" there.
I was also moved by the "cake" and the overall twist in the story, at least it wasn't according to the usual template. Taiwanese projects are mostly above average, and that was the case this time as well. Sensitive, emotional, but sometimes a little long-winded series. However, what got me was the music and the fact that the translator spent time on the songs and appropriately placed the lyrics of the songs at the top and distinguished them with a different color, it was very clear ... I wave and say hello to Taiwan? ?
If I had my eyes closed and the movie started, I would have guessed from the great trumpet music that Jeffrey (1995 American gay movie - we have it here) is starting. However, the story of this short story is equally rambling to the point of craziness, even though it is otherwise completely different in plot, origin and date of creation. However, one of the fathers seemed too warm to the creators (Steven Jiang, who also played the main role of a teacher in HIStory2: Right or Wrong) to add more "comedy" (femininity, lace, etc.), but on the other hand, it can " to deceive" the audience that cohabiting men are all so "weird". But the film moved to the heights for me thanks to the great music /trumpet, piano/.
This mini-story is no more than average for me at one glance, and perhaps the only thing worth mentioning is the music and that the acting (apart from the horrible girl) was solid and unflappable.
The Thai project pleasantly caressed my soul and even if it wasn't perfect, it left a small mark on me. The story is interesting, the acting is passable, the music is excellent in the last parts of various scenes (I don't mean the opening song). And now I have a subtle criticism. The main couple Tawan-Mork, apart from looking very good, said it well, but the mutual attraction and physicality was worth the old white and those "kisses" of theirs for a dirty word, the director is apparently blind and deaf. The second pair of Toy-Boss was completely artificial to me even with the ending being too sweet. Boss as a senior doctor didn't suit me, he was too young (20), while his "trainee" Toy, who studied under him, is actually 28 years old, and his high forehead was made even bigger by the make-up artist by combing the high "helmet" out of his hair, so he looked like wax figure from Madame Tussauds. Here, with this couple, the creators did not go wrong at all with the choice of actors and the types they played. In the hetero couple, I enjoyed the symphony of the barista Mayom, who is really a doctor in civilian clothes, so it's funny to me that a twenty-year-old gut plays an experienced doctor and a real doctor plays a coffee shop bouncer. In that context, I was probably best impressed by the two older uncles in supporting roles, who played the long-term relationship between them brilliantly and with insight. 7596
I enjoyed the last episode of this series and I can say that the positive impressions completely prevailed in my evaluation - the beautiful main song by Jeff Satur and the countless variations of the melodic line of the song during some scenes and very well played by the two main characters played by the young and nice actors Chap and Green (he literally enchanted me with his naturalness and the way he is in love with Nawee's character), also with the kissing scenes, the Thais finally proved that they can do it, if only they want from the creators. These impressions completely put aside the minor flaws, the accelerated story and the need to realize that Nawee's character is mentally ill and not mold and condemn her, like many on other world servers, to go with the "crowd", because the director of this project apparently has a lot enemies especially in Thailand, I don't know why and how he came to this. A very nice experience and I hope that I will see Chap and Green together again sometime (although they also filmed a series of 12 nano-episodes Chapter of Green 2021 with a total length of 11 min (!), but that cannot even be considered a series.
If I ignore the little things in the plot that are unimportant to me and that's just how Asians are, I got a Korean serosh full of something nice and one hundred percent suitable for this time of spring. Love between two young people who grow up in a common household raised by a single mother. But the beginning did not correspond to this and in the first episode I was surprised by the violence against Seo Hae Bom, who played the entire role of a downtrodden, loving school prize winner and a grateful boy, devoted to his stepmother, with grace, and on the contrary, his counterpart Jo Tae Sung was revered in the first episode as an idol and a school boy, although the thirty-year-old actor Kang Hui did not have enough beauty to be at the very top of the pyramid, in my opinion. But everything developed and I was left with a pleasant feeling, and I will surely come back to this project again. Maybe, if we survive the modern warfare, next year in the spring
Overall, just a slightly below-average mini-project for me, which practically did not interest me, except for the likeable type of 32-year-old actor Sittar (Ter). The story is nothing new, the departure of a person after the end of a relationship to "rest" has already been here many times, the acting is rejected, the "kissing" is terrible, just two pressed and breathless heads together, and not even the most heart-wrenching tender melody will save this scene, the audience will rather burst out laughing. And while sitting on the bed, the twenty-five-year-old Golf waved his mug so much during the conversation that the "hot chocolate" would have been spilled on the actors and walls a long time ago. Pretty unconvincing.
If someone doesn't like reincarnation and time travel, the slow pace of the uncut version, then this is probably not the series for them. But for me he was. The excellently conceived, thought-out, multi-layered story absorbed me along with the music and acting and processing. I grew to like almost all the characters (including the two apparently non-Thai ones Robert and James), not just the two main ones, where for me personally the likeable Bright dominated. Many will be puzzled by the ending, because you need to watch until the end of the last episode BEHIND THE SUBTITLES (!!). I did a bit of research earlier as I was interested in the series and had watched it before with slot machine and the first series only covered Book 1 where Khun Yai appears in 1927. But there was also Commander Yai in 1700 who flashes in there a few times and the end of this first series (before the end credits) is from the end of Book 2 (as it is not known if they will continue with a second series due to budget constraints) when Yai Kanthorn enters in 2023, the reincarnation of Commander (1700) and Khun (1927), he is the grandson Lek, younger brother of Knun Yai-e. It's even more complicated than that, but that doesn't apply to the much-aired series anymore. FOOTNOTES: - they didn't affect my rating, but they made Jom, the architect, look like a seven-year-old bird without eyebrows and a forehead, a plucked-up turd, with that blanket on his head, and sometimes he looked rather comical, I saw eyebrows at least in the 12th episode in the scenes in the apartment with his sister .. .
In my opinion, the weakest of all was the story, the other criteria were solid. I was expecting more action when it comes to the Judo area, but I didn't get it. One try and go elsewhere. But I won't punish the project, for example, because I'm angry about the bad story and the rating for the sound, which was good. Thanks for the sk subtitles.
I guess I should have waited and watched both series in the correct order and not seen Pornographer first and then this one. Anyway, well played. When I look at the characters, I think of ... darkness, complexity, inscrutability. In general, both series are very demanding on the viewer. The only thing that started to bother me a little, but it's probably just my problem, was the music, or one piano melody that kept repeating for many scenes. Anyway, I recommend watching this excellent Japanese project in the right order - first Mood Indigo and then Pornographer.
It's not an easy series and I put it down after the first episode, because I probably wouldn't enjoy it much, because Gun with his sweet face didn't "suit" me for the role, especially Black (he plays a double role). It was only after a while that I came back to the project after the translation, I do not regret it, and I congratulate the Gun+Off couple for creating a couple in their real lives. This makes their acting more authentic, more believable in the serial relationship of both characters (I mean White and Sean) and I also returned to the series Theory of Love, where Gun+Off also plays the main role (albeit under a different creative team and director ). It really was a hoot in every way. Acting performances, where there is practically nothing to complain about, the other evaluation criteria and it is also the merit of all the creators, a great director and screenwriter in one. The characters stuck with me, not only the main couple (actually a trio), but for example Yok+Dan, Gram, Tod, Gumpa and the fact that the ending is what it is didn't affect my rating. This project will put in your pocket, even if someone thinks that Asian series are only "suffering" here, non-Asian series too, in the end, the ratings on world servers also prove it.
Director Hwang Da-Seul is a guarantee that no inferior project will pass under her hands. Let's remember her gems in the form of To My Star and Where Your Eyes Linger. It was the same with this series. It's not ten for me, but just under and it's still excellent. Good idea, sensitive acting and professional processing. Perhaps I would have liked a slightly fresher pace, but that is not a complaint and I know that the creators wanted it that way.
An almost crime story about an act that is severely punished up to death in China, well acted and overall I found the film balanced in all evaluation criteria ... 7777
For me, gay romance was just such a whitewash, diet, BLANK, rather really just a bromance. A film that didn't bring me much new, as if it was made for older children, but set in part in the beautiful Thai environment that tourists love so much. The music is nice at times, but I found it often violent. One not-so-much scene and a wistful and mournful piano melody kicks in, and many times, it's as if the creators were looking for depth in a scene that was flat in terms of story and acting.
Perhaps the two main actors deserve admiration, because there were a lot of kissing scenes in the second part and I can imagine what they had to suffer, actually I didn't even recognize Liana at first that she was Fighter from Why R U.
