The ratings could also be high because it's good? And what kind of "real life" do we get with chaebol characters/plots…
This clearly isnt meant to be a realistic drama, i think the reason their relationship fell apart is not only due to the miscarriage but due to HI lack of experience of real relationships due to her dysfunctional family, They got married because of surface level feelings and i dont think they truly even knew each other that well, considering all of that it makes sense why HW reacted the way he did, plus he is a lawyer and he has been living amongst/working for HI family for a long time which probably distorted his ethics and made him more cold and logical
But SK's birth rate is expected to drop to 0.68 this year! And maybe having kids really can help save some marriages?…
I think having kids just makes you stay in the marriage for longer it doesn't really save the marriage per se, but like you said i have noticed a lot more kdramas ending with kids nowadays (myb the government trying to influence youth to have children?)
As a man i hate this relationship. For a girl maybe you like it cause 2 handsome boy like you but for a man nahh…
you do know that the whole point of this drama is that he can't divorce her because of what his in-laws threaten to do to traitors right? And she clearly isn't looking for a romantic relationship with him, she's just manipulating his interest in her to get what she wants.
OMGGG they were expecting a baby and she had a miscarriage ðŸ˜. That must be the reason they fell apart. Maybe…
I read someone's review in which they said that HI's pov was warmer indicating that she still loved HW, whereas his pov was colder indicating he considered her a stranger to him, so i think its likely that he blamed her for the incident and they probably stopped interacting like normal couples afterwards and myb she thought not talking/sleeping with your partner was normal due to her dysfunctional family but he slowly just grew apart from her and eventually reached the point of divorce
I'm loving the pace of this drama. I thought the divorce coverup will take about 10 eps but it looks like she…
its better for her to find out as early as possible so that it doesnt all come crashing down one day, but im a bit afraid that they might stretch out her betrayed feelings for too long though
I can also see myself getting super emotionally invested in this show
From his pov he has been suffering mental abuse and loneliness for majority of their marriage, it is said that…
I dont think he knows that he has had a change of heart as of yet, when he thinks of her recovery it is instantly associated with the hellish life he suffered in before and in addition he probably believes that he feels things for her since they started interacting again, finding someone attractive/being jealous of their interactions with other men and wanting to stay in a marriage with them is very different, he probably just brushes it off as a small fleeting emotion and i believe he will truly start falling for her from the next episode onward..
the reason why they grew apart is starting to make sense, a miscarriage can definitely drive a couple apart especially if they felt guilty or blames the other person/themself, maybe they stopped talking after the incident which made it more awkward? either way I have to say that kim soo-hyun is the highest paid actor in korea for a reason, up until now atleast it looks like Queen of Tears will be one of the best shows in 2024
hyunwoo he's so dumb lol cant you see that you yourself being so worried about her????????? and you're still mourning…
From his pov he has been suffering mental abuse and loneliness for majority of their marriage, it is said that people tend to remember the bad aspects of a relationship more than the good ones and in his case her mistreatment and apathetic attitude towards him overshadows the love they once had and the small hint of affection he still feels for her...
now they have started using sad music as the bg music which makes the whole vibe so sad, earlier they kept using the goofy music for the scenes so i was able to laugh but all of a sudden everything is so serious ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Maybe, because that's what they are portraying at the moment. A husband and a wife who don't love each other.
i think its partly because they want the dating phase romance to be very shallow (he doesnt fully know about her thoughts or emotions like puppy love and she doesnt know what it takes to keep a reltionship intact either) and i think they are doing this in anticipation for the chemistry they will display once they fall in love again ep 6-10 approx
he isnt the best person out there but he definitely isn't a red flag...in the first episode we see how he has been utterly mistreated by his in laws despite him being a graduate of SNU (he would have had a lot of pride) and how he and his wife live as literal strangers, granted she had her own reasons but her actions led to them being estranged...In the scene with the psychologist he even describes the effect she has on his mental sanity and despite the fact that he could lose his job/social reputation and even his life he is willing to risk it all just to divorce her, which shows the extent of his hatred towards her
But all of a sudden he is granted another option to protect everything while leaving her (this being her death) and he is shown to be a very typical middle class man(+lawyer) that would obviously think of how to acquire assets since he should do whats best for him...I personally think that most people out there would do what he did and try to get as many assets as possible since at the end of the day they hate their spouse. Its not ethical but most people are quite selfish
i can already see the last few episodes being rlly serious...(regardless of HE or SE I think it will be an emotional rollercoaster especially since we have to wait every week for a new episode)
I'm honestly rooting for the second couple more than the first couple because the main leads have a very average trope and the humor and romance feels quite cliche and over used...
On the other hand the second couple is shown to have more layers with the concept of being single parents to children who arent the same gender as them and the challenges that comes with raising kids/teens. I love how they support each other with regards to their kids and im looking forward to seeing their cute family of 4!!
Can someone explain to me what Myung Ha is all about, he threw himself at our FL, he almost beat her up? This…
the fl has always pointed out since the beginning that he was very unsympathetic and selfish, i personally think that he "wants" her, he just wants to own her since she keeps rejecting his advances and that tempts him more
I guess we can forgot about the preggo trope, don't we?I mean, her pulse was taken...But they might be like ''it…
i noticed that the one that took the pulse wasn't the doctor but the court lady, so maybe her knowledge of medicine is limited to saying that the pulse is slow/fast and not anything beyond that?
Even if he owned a billiards club he wasn't competing with other world class players, and its impossible that…
Why are you bringing up another completely unrelated show like castaway diva rn? the aspect of her being able to survive was unrealistic in castaway diva, but that show is more about other issues like domestic violence, abuse, and how abuse can affect a family as a whole and even the pov of the abuser.
It also talked about healing and new love, more than the main couple's relationship i thought that the relationship the ml's mother has with her new husband was heart warming, if we talk about main couple's relationship then we can see how the scars that affected them as children still affects them when they are older.
We also see the nature of the entertainment industry through the experience of ranjoo and the singer that replaced mokha, the aspect of never being good enough when you are always being compared and how that forces you to stop evolving and copying was also displayed so well. Ranjoo's mother's condition and how that affected her career and how she was betrayed when she was no longer famous definitely struck a chord.
Castaway diva def. has room for improvement but overall it explored a new concept and it addressed many issues that aren't often discussed
true, most viewers started and completed the show purely for the star studded cast and romance
Ok so you are part of the rare percentage of viewers that has actually experienced a successful relationship with your first love and hence relates to a show...
And clarification this is not slice of life, slice of life would be shows like go ahead, reply series, story of minglan, etc.this genre is mainly about their surroundings, society at the time, family and other factors surrounding them. This show is definitely romance with a hint of sports. The side characters hardly have any importance to the plot and they are just there to improve Main couple's relationship.
The ml leaving his teacher in anger is not really the plot, its just the stimulus that forces the ml to become mature, and honestly it wasn't event that important, the bromance as you mentioned was also so 2 dimensional both of them clearly only existed to improve the relationship and to add some comic relief.
You talked about lighter and princess but that show is something i also enjoyed watching and you definitely cannot compare the two, in LP we see the fl actively working hard to improve her coding skills, the fl and ml also display obvious chemistry, the talent aspect was also not unrealistic because a lot of ppl like the ml naturally have great memory. the ml also faced numerous consequences and their relationship had so many layers to it, even the side characters (although they weren't extremely important) had screentime.
