I don’t think that you hate science just because you want to write a fiction. It’s a fiction, a show for entertainment, not a paper. The writer wanted to do a very specific thing in her story. The only way to do that was to use either sci-fi or magic/fantasy. She chose sci-fi, that’s all. Every sci-fi is like this, breaking the rules of physics, biology etc, some people like this genre, some don't 🤷🏼♀️
Now if you have problem with how she introduced the gene, I can’t say something here. She could do it with various ways and have a better or worse result.
- Drama begins with utter confusion. On one scene is written "5 years later". Very next scene is "10 years ago".…
-First scene : a 5 years old kid -> 5 years later -> 10 years old kid 10 years old kid scene in the church-> 10 years ago-> the kid hadn't yet been born and we are at the present of the whole episode, 1994, Christmass
-Drama's description : "A suspenseful story that asks the key question, “What if we could identify psychopaths in advance?” " The gene is one of the main topics of the drama and also one of the reason the drama is Sci-Fi
-Because a character of the show said that "without psychopats there would be no wars or crimes" that doesn't mean that the writter believe that, it means the character who said that beleived it.
-The drama is taking place at 2020. The first episode is a backstory that sets the universe.
-He is not a death row inmate, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
You can't see anything complicated because the universe it was getting set at the first episode, it's only a backstory so it's logical. What is complicated in this drama is how everyone is related with each other.
The writer created a fake gene, I think that is enough for someone to release that this drama is taking place in an unrealist word. I agree though that the writer is a drama-queen.
Yeah it's good to prepare yourself because this drama is really messy. It's really a hit or miss and it always depends on where you focus and what things annoy you. For example, I personally couldn't care less if Daniel Lee has a Nobel or not, it's unrelated with the main events, but it frurstrated you. The drama has some things like this but they don't affect the main plot, which doesn't have any plot-holes and it has a lot of easter eggs, hidden messages etc.
Now about the direction, it's messy too but it could have turned out a lot worse as they had many problems with the shootings.
Anyway, good luck if you watch it I hope I somehow help you out!
Encouraged by rave reviews I tried to start this drama. By 3rd try I barely finished first episode. It is cheap…
Mouse has unusual and weird screenplay but above all, a very complicated one. It has one of the most complex universes in dramas I've ever seen. To understand what is going on you have to watch it till the end because many things that are rediculous now will make sense later. You have watch only 1 of 22 episodes which is about the 4,5% of the story, that's literally nothing. Have also in mind that what Mouse is sci-fi, in case you didn't notice the genres.
I don't know if I should tell you to keep watching or not, it may frustrate you more. But if you want to know what really happened you have to watch it till the very end (and also, watch "Mouse the predator" after ep. 15).
At the special “Mouse: the Last” there is an alternative ending (last 10 minutes). It has some extra scenes…
Hahaha Ikr many of as thought this thing about SYH 😂 Hahaha yeah, this show really makes you overthink again and again. I still find new things about the story when I’m thinking of it xD
I dont think Sung Yo Han is dead, referring to the last scene.. (after credits in ep 20).. they preformed a brain…
In the last scene the one who is having brain transplant is not Yohan, you can see the actor on the cast list, the name of the actor is also Yo Han by purely coincidence.
With this scene they wanted to show that the experiments about brain transplant didn’t stop
Holy shit, what can i say... that drama made me cry, sit on the edge of my seat and let me have sleepless nights. It…
At the special “Mouse: the Last” there is an alternative ending (last 10 minutes). It has some extra scenes but for me it doesn’t change anything about the original ending but it make it more “complete”. Now in discussions Carol ine has written a theory about this ending you can read this. If you want something else I have made a plot analyzation in my review and I have written also some theories there. Hope you’ll find something you like!
Yeah there is romance but very minor, so don't worry in case you wouldn't like this
The romance has nothing to do with how the drama ends. That’s because the romance in the drama is minor and almost unimportant. The main genre is mystery so it focuses on other things. If you want to watch something that contains a lot of romance this is not the right drama.

I like how you’re thinking.
Cha Eun Sung was very suspicious through the whole series, something was fishy. In the end nothing happened but the last scene wanted to point out something so.. let’s theorize and wait until we hear some news xD
I have written in my review how I think the time travel works but not about the end. So what I believe about the end is: 1)Restore of the timeline (that’s why Ha Rin stayed in the past) 2)Maybe Cha Eun Sung was the one who had the other old camera. I think he had crush in Ha Rin. We may see a second season but Idk
Congrats for your first article it was very interesting!
I really needed this kind of article. I want to watch more j-dramas these days and through this article I discovered some Japanese writers that I’m interested in. Thank you! ∩^ω^∩
I don't understand a thing. So, Ha Rin managed to save Ji Seo Joon. The police arrested Hye Min, she went to prison.…
I think that every person that have time traveled remembers it.
Think of the first time that Ha Rin saved Seo Joon. She still had the photos even though Seo Joon never died. She knew about the time travel but she never took the photos from the old man. A theory is this : I think that every time you change the past, when you go to the future, is like going to a parallel world in which only those who have time traveled can realize the differences the new world has. Like Ha Rin noticed the difference in the episode which Hye Min time traveled and killed the witness but the policemen didn't.
he fired warning shots. you could clearly see he didn't aim in their direction but to the side of where they grouped…
Okay so. I explained to you with facts why the shots weren't warnining shots. Now you tell me that because nobody died they didn't die too. I never said that they died, they may just were injured. We don't know, but it doesn't matter at all, it's competely irrelevant with the intention of the shots.
If you don't want to believe me then don't, you don't have to. I won't change your mind, I just point out some facts.
he fired warning shots. you could clearly see he didn't aim in their direction but to the side of where they grouped…
He wasn’t holding the gun properly.
Normally the gun should rest on the shoulder without any gaps, only then the gun will remain stable at the time of firing. If you do not hold it properly, then the gun will move from the force of the bullets. You can even break your shoulder if you don’t hold the gun properly.
Also, he was aiming at the guy who was bullying him. There were other men right and left of him. When he fired, he didn’t change body possession, only the gun moved from the bullets power. If he wanted to fire elsewhere he would change body possession.
All in all, there were not any directing mistakes, neither warning shots, just direct shots.
he fired warning shots. you could clearly see he didn't aim in their direction but to the side of where they grouped…
He didn’t fired warning shots because
1)The gun was loaded (he was at service previously)
2)you don’t open fire in a room with a loaded gun if want to fire warning shots. The bullets could be ostracized and hit someone
3) the gun he had was a machine gun. The gun’s name is Daewoo K2. It has rate of fire 700-900 rounds/min, muzzle velocity 920 m/s (K100) or 960 m/s (KM193) etc.
You don’t fire warning shots with this gun unless you aim the sky or you are in the open. They were in a room.

Great review as always!
The first episode is about what happened at episode 5 from BaReum’s pov
