That was good - the writing on this show is excellent, with flawed and believable characters that doesn't dismiss people's hurt at the turn of a page but works through it like a real people would.
I think too often the BL audience expects perfect characters to begin and end perfectly. which is why so many BLs are deathly boring. Here, we have well-drawn character arcs for once, but so many people can't get over Sorn's behavior, even though it's manifestly evolved and improved.
But because of the established enemies to lovers formula, people are willing to accept much, much worse behavior from a seme if it changes in the first few eps. Here Sorn's emotional incompetence lasted longer as he grew, much like Jun stopped allowing himself to be treated in a way he didn't want only after being hurt repeatedly. This is all realistic and human, and is what makes this series special.
But more than that, Oat's unbelievably good acting carries this to another level. Boat was quite good today, better than he has been so far, and in any other series he'd be a standout - but he suffers a little compared to the completely natural acting of Oat - with him I forget I'm watching an actor play a character. Also, he has the sexiest legs.
Why did they have TWO almost identical love scenes for the secondary couple? I hope they find a good partner for Punpun - and I think we can safely eliminate one prospect...
ppl still see Sorn as a red flag but I'd say he's an orange flag. I'll take an orange flag who's always crazy…
I don't see what's red flag about him. He wasn't sure he could make a relationship work with a much younger guy, especially Tai's protege, and he took some time to understand his feelings. He's a bit possessive and jealous, but do you want someone who doesn't mind that a amokin' hot chef is actively pursuing you? No, you want some jealousy.
I think he's a gren flag that's red in bed, which is the best case scenario.
How a kiss scene with Sorn and Jun beats the side couples’ NC scene is beyond me. The chemistry is crazyy. Their…
I half agree. The side couple's NC scene was hot on Punpun's side and typically zero on Yoon's. The milk was stupid, but other than that I thought Champ was on fire with that aggressive heated look and that stealth body. But it would have been better if he had just been humping the couch, because it has superior acting ability to Yoon.
I received a lot of interesting comments about my post that I don't think Sorn and Jun should end up together.…
I think crying, begging for forgiveness, and directly confessing his feelings is a little more than "half-heartedly". I get it if you won't forgive him, but let's not distort what actually happened to fit a narrative. Sorn is jealous and possessive because he's in love and everyone wants Jun for themselves, even Sorn's own brother.
I'm willing to overlook the (lack of hot muscular) body of Ji Won for the sake of what the series is putting out…
Your first sig other mercilessly teased you and shoved his face into yours constantly while you recoiled in terror every time he leaned toward you, talked to you, or appeared to be considering touching you?
Regardless, there most certainly is a seme-uke thing in the writing - which character is taller, stronger, older, more aggressive, acts more traditionally "male", and has agency?
BL writers treat ukes and semes as different genders rather than two men who may have a preference for one or the other sexual position.
Lol. I was waiting for you to rail against Ji Won getting hurt by opening a plastic bag. :)
That was a new uke low. In one of those endless restaurant shows a couple of years ago, an uke managed to cut himself with a butter knife, but this may top that.
I really understand Shane jumping from one career to the other. It's that moment you have planned oy one goal…
I don't understand why not getting a scholarship means he can't pursue that career. Was there only one university in the entire world at which you could study for that career? Shouldn't his agonizing be over deciding where else to apply? And how awful are his parents that they only let him apply to one school?
Ironically I think others may be harsher on him just because of who he’s connected to .. I feel as though he’s…
I had no idea who he was or was related to until just now when I looked it up. That has no bearing on my opinion that his acting is too weak to carry a main role.
It's a recurring problem with Thai BL - they're so obsessed with finding the new big thing that they don't give actors experience before tossing them into the deep end of the pool.
Ironically I think others may be harsher on him just because of who he’s connected to .. I feel as though he’s…
So you think that a forum designed to dicuss the strengths and weaknesses of a series is not a place to comment on the acting in a series? What difference does it make what age he is? There are fantastic actors who are much younger. In fact, Chokun is also 19 and inexperienced, but he'd much stronger.
That he's not ready for a leading role isn't his fault, it's the fault of whomever cast him. Calling people "haters" because they point this out is actually hateful on your part, itsn't it? You're making very negative assumptions about other people's motivations,
"Mick is the weakest of the 5 new actors" is not hateful.
"Mick sucks and is ugly" is hateful. Nobody is saying that.

This is essentially Luke's first role too and he's one of the strongest of the 5, maybe second to Chokun. What exactly is Shane's character type supposed to be? He's so thinly written and acted that I can't tell - you have to fill in the blanks by making assumptions based on cliched characters.
I think he's so flat that it makes the main couple feel uninteresting except when Chokun is carrying it like he did this episode.
Of the 5 new actors Mick is the weakest one. Hes on the boarderline of being bad. Honestly it feels like he only…
I agree, but to be fair, his character is so poorly written that it would be a challenge even for a better actor. What is Shane's character - can you sum it up? "A smart, boring, and studious boy who has no interest in sex with his hot and sexy boyfriend." I have a feeling Shane is the self-insertion of the writer into the story, so she didn't bother to give him any character.
I actually enjoyed the episode and still enjoy the show (although, I agree with some comments here that it should've…
It's funny, but not that you mention it, that is unbelievably lazy. I didn't focus on that because I was too distracted by "you want to move in together even though you haven't even kissed yet?" or "6 high school boys in relationships that have zero interest in sex?" to notice, plus the only actual acting in the episode was Kit's exsperation with the tarot lady, so I let it go a little. But yes, extremely lazy, and you have to wonder if the author ever went to high school. Or has ever dated. Or even met a boy.
Now that you did mention it, how horrible are Shane's parents that they let him apply to only one school? He should have applied to several. Then this could be his disappointment about not getting to study abroad or something.
Day 783763 of saying that Shane is literally me 😭 😞😞When can I find my own Kit • 😭Tarper are so…
I don't think Mon said he's bi - he said they weren't compatible and worked better as friends. I'm gay and you could say that about all my ex-girlfriends.
