There have been a lot of BLs this week where nothing happened, but this series makes nothing happening so engaging, and I think it's because the acting & directing are so good. You can feel Minoru's longing for love so strongly that it hurts, and while Yataka's emotions are more subtle, his loneliness was loud and clear too.

It's amazing how they've made the intersection of such banal existences so beautiful.

In theory this should be good. But it's so lacking in... everything that it just can't hold my interest. I can't even remember what happened in previous episodes. There is zero chemistry of any kind between the leads, zero energy to the production, and the actors are phoning it in, for which I can hardly blame them. I can't motivate myself to watch Ep 6.

Well, that was so awful that it might be the most awful thing I've seen. Bamee's amnesia apparently serves no plot purpose, and now he's pretending he has amnesia, which also has no plot purpose. They just burned off two episodes, and probably at least one more, totally uselessly. If I'm going to sit and watch absolutely nothing happen, it needs to involve Cooper in the shower.

I'd estimate about 80% of this ep was just flashbacks. And who tries to rape someone to restore their memories?

There is a lot more negativitiy about Nikko's looks than I've ever seen, and I can't see any reason for it. I don't know if it's because he's dark, which is a real negative in Asian aesthetics, or it's because he has tattoos, which was a common comment, or because everyone things an uke has to look a certain way, but it's strange and goes a little beyond mere discussion.

Why does everyone think Justin is so attractive? I don't get it. I think Nikko is way cuter. He could rethink his hair, but that's superficial.

People don't like Nikko because he has tattoos. I'm trying to see what people see in Justin, but he's a relentlessly negative person who isn't ugly, but would you do a double-take at him? And the actor does a great job of playing a fencepost, I'll grant him that.

Yes, totally. I'm lights-off because I'm shy and self-conscious, but eventually when I'm comfortable with someone I'm fine with lights on, or even prefer it.

I remember not loving it because it was boring. The source material is a comedy, and they made it into a drama. The plot of the original was that the main character was narcissistic and liked to have the spotlight on him. A new guy comes along that is beautiful and perfect, and he gets jealous. What's funny is that the new guy is even more of a narcissistic monster and really IS trying to steal the spotlight, and it's a long and entertaining bitch-fight.

In the BL, he's a really sweet guy and it devolves into a typical BL romance with no interesting or unique features, except that it was better directed than usual. Also, Blueming looks like Blue Ming to me and I don't get why they made that the title. Ming vases are usually blue, so it's hard not to see it that way.

I should say that I don't mean it can't be viewed as harassment - if it were real life it might be a little unsetting for someone to behave that way at work - but in a BL it's not too bad for me. But I do see why it bothers people.

No, I do agree with you that the team leader's capitulation was too sudden. It took a few minutes before I was sure Team Leader wasn't playing a trick on him.

I don't see how turning on the light is weird. It's very common to turn on the light, so you can see the person you're with rather than a black shape in the darkness. I can see how you think the rest of his behavior is strange, but not that.

Turning on the light was a nice touch - it accented his desire for honesty (nothing hidden by darkness).

Maybe they changed the bedding and showered after the sex, LOL. I don't get the weird squeamishness. We saw Haram in a speedo at the swimming pool - having his shirt off in bed shouldn't be a big deal.
