No, the issue (for me at least) is not that he is the Uke (I am not even sure if he is) but that he is presented…
It's such a non-issue for me that it took me by suprise that people had a problem with it. Even when I was in school (a longggg time ago) people of every type had tattoos. Sometimes people's expectations of you are so suffocating that you need to break out of them.
I'm on ep 3. Every single scene has involved eating (and talking with mouth full) and drinking - almost without exception. Does this change? I can't take much more.
I like it. The secondary character enemies to lovers schtick is laid on a bit too thick, and it doesn't feel like any of these relationships are going to develop organically (unless Saentai ends up with Lomfon). I expect a lot of Lomfon-Saengthian trip/catch/faces too close, and of course the main couple are destined, so that's a given.
As many have said previous... Nikko is definitely the weakest character for me.. he just isn't captivating enough…
The actors are average, but I probably disagree in that I think Nikko is the best acted character. Eli has his moments - Raynold is good at being smoldering and he does vulnerable fairly well. Justin to me is completely 2D.
Ep 4 was a big improvement - mostly because there was no Raynold Tan trying to be a bad boy. He's got smoldering down for sure, but when he's being a tough guy it doesn't work.
There's a lot of criticism of Nikko which I don't get - I think he's an appealing character and behaves consistently and is acted well. There hasn't been a lot of main couple chemistry because Nikko is too shy and Eli isn't sure what he's feeling. We'll see if they can pull it off.
As for a tattoos, I really don't understand why that bothers so many people so much. Who cares? I get it, he's an uke and so he's not allowed to have any masculine qualities. Isn't it time to dump those constraining boxes?
Justin is awful - Nikko needs to have a talk with him.
EP 10 sure gave a whiplash. Though i dont think the reason for Thoop being shit towards Cher is justifiable. Cher…
Thoop was and is basically a child. You can't judge his behavior by adult standards. This is a person who witnessed his stepfather raping his sister. Thoop's behavior doesn't have to be justifiable - it's a miracle he didn't turn out awful or kill himself too. He also had to bear the burden of keeping his sister's secret, which he knew was hurting Cher. His position was terrible and he deserves only compassion, not judgement.
That was really good - what a well-conceived episode. I was actually getting a little irritated at the amount of time spent on the female coworker's story, but it had such a great payoff.
I was really looking forward to that. Sigh. This is starting to feel exploitative - taking couples we like and throwing them on the screen with no effort, no plot, and no energy.
I (and all of you) knew from the first minute that Ayan didn't forget - so predictable, like every line and moment of this.
The actors were good, and Khaotung and First aren't afraid of intimacy, which is nice.
That episode was so aggressively awful that I don't know where to begin.
This is a series about a guy who pisses off some spirit (confusingly translated as "priest") and is hurled forward in time. I think that's where the writer ran out of ideas, and reached for the book on her shelf titled "Soap Opera Cliches". I wouldn't be surprised if Bamee is being held prisoner somewhere and has been replaced by his evil twin. She even found a way to throw in a sponge bath.
This plot device accomplishes nothing except bringing the narrative to a screeching halt - it's so derailed at this point that it's hard to imagine ever caring again. Unless Kiew takes a shower again. That would revive my interest.
But it's cute so far.

The guy playing Thoop certainly earned his paycheck this episode - he outshone Book quite a bit.
But nothing shined as bright as Force's abs - I love that Cher went straight there.

I do like the cast - I just wish the writing offered more than the usual recycled plot points and cliches.
