I could have lived without the drunkenness as well but to be honest it did not add much nor was it used for substituting…
I agree with that - it was one of the better representations of drunkenness in a Thai BL - but it was really long, and while it didn't substitute for an exchange of emotions, it prevented anything meaningful from happening for a very large chunk of the episode, and as you mentioned, it was superfluous to begin with, so it felt like it was put in to check a cliche off the required list.
That was really disappointing. I like the idea of relationship problems, but that was so petty and superficial that I just didn't care. If it weren't a shirtless Neo goldmine I'm not sure I would have stuck with it to the end.
I was mixed on this. I had trouble staying awake in the first half, and I thought the drunkenness was a complete waste of time. TBH, I'm really getting sick of BL's reliance on this trope. Their relationship and interaction is really quite different and interesting, and I wish the writer would explore that instead of being lazy and doing the drunk thing.
So far I'd say this has potential, butI hope it finds it soon.
So, have you ever seen that scene in episode 9 where Cher goes to pick up Gun from the bar because he's way too…
While I agree that BL drunk scenes are often cringey, I'm not sure what that has to do with being Asian. Slurred speech is not only a common symptom, it's almost 100%, as well as being too loud - I often find these scenes confusing because the character is showing signs of drunkenness and sobriety at the same time, and memory loss is 100%, which is not at all true to reality. I liked that the portrayal of drunkenness with Gun was more realistic than usual. To me, it's not the behavior while drunk that's a turnoff (unless they get violent) but the resorting to alcohol in the first place.
Drinking should be for celebration or working up the nerve to get it on with someone. (But not TOO drunk in the latter case.)
I doubt it's legal to look in someone's phone, but the chances of a CEO not password protecting his phone is 0%. It's like there are no passwords or door locks in Thailand.
8.2 is actually the highest score for kbl drama on mdl (semantic error, tms2, light on me, the eighth sense).…
I agree - but if you want to compare it to a non-KBL, you need to look at the detailed statistics. Most Thai BLs get scored about where people are voting. KBLs seem to have an entire point deducted. So a KBL 8.2 is likely a much better series than an 8.2 Thai BL.
Ok thank you for saving me hours of my life! I will be taking this one off my list lol and btw I love that term.…
Thanks. I feel like you have to feel frustration and maybe even anger for something to be aggressively awful - this is just boring and pointless awful.
Why is everyone using the word "messy"? What was messy? It was efficient and tightly scripted, with no extraneous scenes. It was well-shot - in the house, every angle looked like a voyeur's POV.
I didn't really like it, but not because it's "messy".
I agree with live and let live and blocking people you don't like, but if he got banned then he must have done…
If you can get him to do that, brava! But he won't - that's who he is.
I've never reported anyone - I think you can only report a comment, not the actual user, and what some stranger says to me isn't important enough to give it that much thought.
A note on the rating: If you click on the bar graph icon to the right of "photos", you can see the breakdown of ratings by age - they are all 9.1 or 9.2 except for 65+, which rated it 8.5 but are only 0.03% of the vote (which is 2 votes). If the rating were based on the actual votes, it would be 9.1.
I recommend checking the statistics when you're making a decision as it tells you more about what people think, rather than whatever the algorithm decides.

I know a lot about Japanese history, but I probably can't help much with Japanese movies.
Anyway, he might have been banned for a comment some time ago that someone flagged and the moderators just got around to.
I'm not surprised - he has no self-control and launches into fairly OTT tirades against people personally, which is not the same as going on a tirade about a topic or a series.
The " straight white man" comment by pat part rubbed me the wrong way for real because I thought that was an extremely…
I'm 100% certain he didn't say that and some Thai equivalent was translated that way. Why would he make a comment that nobody he's speaking to would understand? It's like if I said "Stop behaving like a kıro!" (Turkish for hick) Besides, if he did say it he'd be a racist asshole.
I interpret it as that he is not a real bad boy but just a boy starving for attention from his mom. He hesitated…
I agree, although being better than Phuwin is setting a low bar. Anyway, he's so hot that it doesn't really matter if he can act or not, I'm there. But he apparently can, so all the better. I'm there with you - I haven't been excited about a Pinoy BL in a very long time.
I was mixed on this. I really like the cast and the acting, and the technical quality of this is very high.
But the setup is weak - there are uncounted millions of people who are fully deaf, so no hearing while it's raining and you get to be telepathically connected to your soulmate doesn't really seem like much of a problem.
Also, grown men are reacting to things like children. A 20-year old man in a country with a 39% divorce rate isn't going to be so upset at his parents' divorce that he rejects his telepathically connected soulmate. Come on. And if he didn't have an inkling that things were not good between his parents, then he's not very close to them or is self-absorbed. My parents had marital problems for a prlonged stretch, and we KNEW it.
Also, his brother is I guess 19-20 if he's a sophomore in college, and his reaction to the book was OTT for someone that age. It would have worked better if there had been an establishing scene showing them to be rivals or enemies - because as it is now, Saengthian comes off as an asshole.
Also, the first half of this was really dull - I had to take breaks to get through it, although about half way through it grabbed me.
Shoutout to the actor playing the dad, who's big scene was absolutely pitch-perfect. I think it elevates a series when there are experienced actors involved.
I think it would be cooler if when he loses his hearing we don't hear anything like him. Like no music, no rain,…
I agree with what you said about making everything go silent when it rains - there is too much manipulative music in this episode. I wasn't as bothered by the rain deafness thing, although I thought it was a lame schtick. But I was put off by a 20-year old man reacting like a 6-year old to his parents' divorce. I looked it up - the divorce rate in Thailand is 39%, so it's not like it's rare. Can you really tell me that your parents getting divorced would cause you to reject your soulmate with whom you're telepathically connected? Come on.
Reynold Tan isn't very convincing when he's being thuggish, but he definitely turned on the heat when he needed to, although when you look like that you don't have to do much.
This is a bit clunky, but it's really cute and I've enjoyed it so far.
I was lookng foward to this couple.
It's relying a bit too much on tired and annoying cliches, too.
But it's not without charm and I'm enjoying it.

The subtitles, however, were messy.
