Well, the acting isn't great, but you don't need to be Marlon Brando if you look like Raynold Tan. The acting…
I think you are right about all of that. For some reason, people are harder on Filipino actors. Maybe it's partly because Thai series hide bad acting by having the actor not emote at all, whereas Filipino actors put more feeling into it, so when it's off it's more noticable. Thai shows also have ukes cry a lot, which substitutes for acting.
In any case, I'd rather have smoldering Eli to fencepost Ohm Thitiwat.
I don't find Justin awful to be honest. he is jealous like come on if my crush/bff from school would pay more…
I guess I'm just put off by Justin giving stink eyes to Eli all the time and being rather rude. Eli hasn't done anything to deserve that, and it makes him look petty to me. As you said, we'll see how it goes.
You're right, but it's not like Blueming was being original - that's a classic scene construction that you can…
I believe you - I'll have to compare as I don't remember Blueming very well, which I seem to be the lone person who didn't think it was all that good.
And I do agree that there are too many cliches and tropes in this - not the worst I've seen, but the accidental kiss was awful, compouded by showing it in flashback 8 times.
I didn't think they had sex - maybe it's left to interpretation. Also, stalker/harasser? He's pursuing someone,…
His discomfort was due to his being so attracted to Haram, not because he didn't like being touched. It makes a large difference what the power relationship is - while a subordinate can certainly harass a superior, it's always harassment when it's the other way around, as the subordinate may feel they can't do anything about it. When it's a situation like this, Lee Jun isn't in a situation where someone can use their power over him. I think it's quite clear Lee Jun is really into Haram, and Haram is getting encouragement from that. Notice that when Haram invades Lee Jun's space, Lee Jun doesn't move away - he usually comes up with an excuse for not doing so, like "it's better than falling", which is nonsense. In the bus scene in Ep 2, Haram caught him when he looked to be falling - that's not groping. And notice that Lee Jun was in no hurry to get out of his arms.
Thanks for the clarification on the Ramen thing - I didn't get that. I'm sort of resigned to people waking up fully dressed after sex - the only time anyone is naked is when it's played for humor.
Wow, the love scene ripped off Blueming in every respect. One, the guys entered a dark room as they walked backward…
You're right, but it's not like Blueming was being original - that's a classic scene construction that you can see in countless movies over the last 50 years.
Perhaps, he was too embarrassed by the tag to remove it right then and there?
Men don't do that. They just don't notice the tags are still on. It's pretty easy to miss on a jacket like that. There's often an obvious tag, and a less obvious second one that you might not see. But I do like the thought - it's funny.
Haram could’ve objectively been opposed to the proposal and offered ways to alter it without outright insulting…
I get zero harassment vibes. Lee Jun is in the higher position, and Haram is simply pursuing him. If pursuing someone is suddenly unacceptable, then the human race will die out. Lee Jun told him not to come within 3 meters, and he didn't - it was Lee Jun who deliberately took the bus hoping Haram would be on it.
I don't find Justin awful to be honest. he is jealous like come on if my crush/bff from school would pay more…
But Justin has the potential to do damage, whereas the girls don't - and because Justin is Nikko's friend, if he interferes he's being a bad friend. The girls are not really consequential.
Justin is awful. He's got a bad personality without any countervailing positives.
Sometimes the actors are noticably acting, which takes me out a bit, but overall they're good enough - sometimes the delivery isn't perfect, but they are communicating emotions, which is the most important thing.
Also, Eli is so hot that nothing else really matters.
I am so disappointed that those who have been whining about the allegedly not very good acting only make the same…
Well, the acting isn't great, but you don't need to be Marlon Brando if you look like Raynold Tan. The acting is good enough - if I were to criticize anything it would be the directing and editing. The timing is always a little off, and what's going to happen is telegraphed a bit too much.
But most BLs would have Eli agonize over liking a guy, go to the prom with the awful screechy girl, and then get with Nikko in the last 30 seconds of the series. Everyone should be grateful we didn't get any of that.
In my case I thought the tattoos were an odd thing to see, especially when the production did nothing to acknowledge…
People have incredibly bizarre ideas about tops and bottoms. It makes absolutely no difference whatsoever whether one has tattoos or not. I don't have any and I'm usually a top, and I have yet to date a bottom without them. It just doesn't factor in at all.
Your point about Nikko's squeaky clean character makes sense though - but has he ever positioned himself as squeaky clean? If he idendtifies as gay, that's also a motivator to get tattoos. Maybe not such obvious ones, but it's not unusual.
OK, that was Ep 4, but it was really more like Ep 5-6 in a series with normal-length episodes. And not a lot has happened. I felt like we were retreading Jeng's improving himself bit, and it's a little irritating that the only people in a BL getting any action are the straight couple, although I did appreciate the ample opportunity to ogle Poppy's body.
I like this series, but I'd like to see it move - and thank God Ying wasn't in it much past the interminable gossip scene. Saint is pretty, but his acting... yikes. Up made a big impression with his limited role.
I haven't seen Ep 6 yet, but that sounds about right.
In any case, I'd rather have smoldering Eli to fencepost Ohm Thitiwat.
