I really hope Gaipa finds someone. The dude is a sweetheart and sure maybe a little persistent but imo not in…
Since he and First area apparently paired for life now, it will probably be Alan, although there's not enough time to develop it. I'm guessing Gaipa will show up at the hospital for some reason and start things like that.
it is internalised homophobia though. I think its valid to hate what the character is saying, I honestly think…
It's not internalized homophobia, it's legitimate concern of a parent for a child. This isn't West Coast America - being gay is a huge handicap in a place like Thailand. I worked at a Korean company in California and it was a giant handicap. I totally get Jim here. And also, we haven't heard the entire conversation, so we don't really know what he was going to say. It might have been "Do you think his parents will accept you? Not only are you poor, but now you're gay?"
how are people so dense and stupid that they don't even realize what jim meant then proceed to call him a homophobe?…
It's pretty obvious, and it's difficult to understand how people can't get that.
I'm gay and I would be concerned if I lived in a conservative place if my kid were gay, although I wouldn't live in a conservative place because I don't have to. But Jim does.
This site is very anti-Jim and anti-Earth. I'm hard presssed to understand it.
I disagree. I don’t think he objectifies him. I think he lacks the emotional maturity to meet Kiyoi face-on…
Can't he be both? He's everyting you said too, but that he isn't interesting in who Kiyoi is but rather the idea of who Kiyoi is more or less defines objectification. He's not sexually objectifying him, but what he's doing is worse. I like being sexually objectified and I think a lot of men do - but Hira's objectification is distancing and hurtful, and unlike sexual objectification it makes any sort of eqaulity or partnership impossible.
I respectfully disagree. Hira doesn't enjoy "objectifying Kiyoi"Hira enjoys serving Kiyoi and making him happy…
Not having any interests is the opposite of of typcial autistim and I don't see how someone who likes photography taking pictures is particularly unusual - he's not obsessive about it, he takes a photo when something catches his eye, and Kiyoi is especially beautiful. That's a sign of being an artist. I don't think it's totally unreasonable to view him as autistic, but if he's meant to be, the writer didn't do a very good job of it.
I will definitely have to rewatch that scene as I didn't actually notice that squeak people are talking about…
You must have better powers of concentration or denial than most of us, because on any version it was so loud that I couldn't concentrate on the scene. I have a new mac, so the sound is really sharp - maybe that's it.
The squeak was the worst. I love this show and all of Aof's projects, but he desperately needs to find a quality…
TBH, I couldn't enjoy that scene - it was too distracting, There have been many sound problems in this series - it's a pity because it should have been easily avoidable and detracts from the perfection, and i feel bad for the actor who did such a good job in that scene,
That's about as wrong as taking a piece of candy from a bowl on someone's desk without asking first. Too minor…
Thanks. In any case, driving without a license is so common that it's not really an issue. It's illegal to jaywalk in most places, but if we didn't, we'd all waste a large portion of our lives. Except Germans, who make a religion out of not jaywalking. I think it makes them happy or something.
I really need to ask.Y ' all know Liming was WRONG putting Heart on that motorcycle right? You know... two teenagers...…
That's about as wrong as taking a piece of candy from a bowl on someone's desk without asking first. Too minor to mention. If Li Ming had sent him to ride on a highway, then yes, it would be very, very wrong. Praciticing off-street is fine. How is anyone supposed to get a license if they don't learn how to ride? Aslo, I don't know if you've ever been to Thailand, but traffic laws are barely even gentle suggestions there.
Also, how do you know Li Ming doesn't have a license? He almost certainly does - you can get one at age 15.

Come on. That Alan/Wen scene was destroyed by whatever that was - either a very squeaky fan or the angry ghosts of two small monkeys - I'm not sure which. Maybe both.
So a couple of things. Besides that one ruined scene, this was marred slightly by that flashback montage at the beach, which is the production not trusting the audience or actor - that was unfortunate. Also, I like symbolism and metaphor, but "would you like me to rekindle your fire?" was so OTT on the nose that I broke out laughing, which is not a good thing. The writing on this is so good - please don't ruin it.
That was one of the first times where it was important if someone meant "you can go now" or "you can go first" - totally different in that context. After 8 years, I think we've had enough of that translation error.
OK, so Part 3 wasn't very good, But boy, did they make up for it in Part 4. That was stellar - every second of that was perfectly acted and written. And Part 1 was fantastic too. And Part 2. And Part 3 if not for the needs-to-be-executed boom operator.
Again, really fantastic, and again I don't like watching it. I'm nto sure how to describe it - I guess it's that it feels a little like one of those nightmares where you're running in place - you can't stop, but you can't get anywhere.
I respectfully disagree. Hira doesn't enjoy "objectifying Kiyoi"Hira enjoys serving Kiyoi and making him happy…
I don't see the autism. He understands all the visual cues he gets from Kiyoi (which unfortunately do not always match his inner feelings, and he never shares the motivation for his feelings), he has no issues with eye contact, and any other "symptom" I can think of. I put that in quotation marks because I don't really think a BL is going to give an in-depth or accurate view of such things.
I think there's a tendency to use the neurodivergence label on anyone weird. Weird is normal. So is neurodivergence, but they're not synonymous.
THEY BROUGHT THE WORST HISTORY COUPLE BACK AND FOR WHAT!!!!
You mean the best History couple. Although now instead of their biggest problem being that they're brothers, it's the TV being on too loud. If that's all it was going to be, they should have brought back the cartoon couple from H4 whose whole relationship was like that.
I'm gay and I would be concerned if I lived in a conservative place if my kid were gay, although I wouldn't live in a conservative place because I don't have to. But Jim does.

There was a dinner scene earlier on where I couldn't hear the dialog because the clanking of utensils was so loud. But the fan was a new low.
Also, how do you know Li Ming doesn't have a license? He almost certainly does - you can get one at age 15.

a) Call emergency services immediately in what was clearly a life-theatening situation, or
b) Watch him masturbate and touch him inappropriately.
That's worse than anything Yong Jie did - at least he never put Xing Si's life in danger.
