I’m obsessed with this. I was so prepared to dislike this, but it’s so good! I love the characters so much…
Even I like it, which says something. It goes to show that something woefully unoriginal but smartly written and well-directed and acted can still be compelling. More than anything, what works is that the characters draw together because of who they are and how they feel about each other and interact, not because one of them tripped and the other one caught him which turned both suddenly gay and into each other. I'm actually excited about this series.

I don't like the English title of the series either. I'm calling out my own country, but I think that if they…
I do like it, I love that they avoid all the cliches that make me scream, the cast is great and has excellent comic timing, I like that the relationship is layered and complex, and I like that Noey is about as unfrightening as anyone can get and yet Thi has convinced himself that Noey is terrifying. I just want things to move forward - it's too static and repetitive, and the same thing over and over becomes less and less funny. The improvised helmet was very funny, or Thi running back through the gang because he forgot his bag was funny. Thi standing there forever when someone asks him anything is not funny anymore, it's just frustrating and it takes up half the episode.

Sometimes I think the plot of a given series is 8 episodes worth and they stretch it out to 12. Kind of like My Only 12% would have been a top-tier 10-episode series but was a tedious 14-episode series instead.

Noey is trying to get Thi to stand up for himself - I think that's why he pushes buttons.

I really like the idea of this series, and I think the cast is doing a great job, but it needs to start moving - it is moving, but but very slowly and Thi's reactions to everything are getting repetitive - it's frustrating to watch someone hesitate for 20 minutes every time someone asks him to do anything.

For me My School President is too fast. I feel like there is a whole backstory that's completely missing or was…
The storytelling is non-linear, which can work or not work - it's too early to tell. I'm OK with backstory gradually released, if it's released. But we don't really have any backstory for this drama either. Why is Noey the leader of a gang when his family is doing fine and is quite nice - plus, it's hard to imagine his mother putting up with that. What's Thi's story? We know nothing.

I guess I prefer a drama where something is happening (even if too fast) over one that repeats the same note over and over.

Title La Pluie
You just described every Asian romance drama though.
LOL, you're right. Asia seems to be in a rut. And yet I keep coming back.
On I Will Knock You Dec 10, 2022
I have to say that I didn't enjoy this episode (except for the "helmet"). It's getting repetitive and Thi is getting irritating and pathetic. How much screen time is going to be him just standing there and not answering basic questions? I had to watch most of this on 2x just to get through it.

It's getting draggy and repetitive. This is typical in Thai BL - they start with a good idea and beat it to death. Ep was great, Ep 2 was good, Ep 3 was OK, Ep 4 was tiresome. Compare that to My Class President, which while less original than this is paced much better and moves along.

There's a sloppyness to this - even the title, which makes no sense and is a mistranslation - it should be "I'm going to hit you". You can get it right with 5 seconds of effort and Google translate.

Anyway, the next ep needs to move forward or I won't be able to get through it.

Ep 4 was frustrating, it is draging andmoving to slow, even their reactions are slowwww, I put it on X2 somtimes…
Same here - I had to take breaks tot get through it and set it on 2x. I like the series, but if there's another ep like this I'll lose interest.

I want to get a cane to beat this errant child called noey watphlu. He is so disrespectful, rude and aggressive.…
If you really look at it, instead of just seeing Thi's perspective, Noey is kind and respectful. He keeps his word, he lowers himself to help Thi (he didn't have to let him punch him), when he dropped something they went back for it, he improvised a helmet, brought him a whole bag of oranges because he saw he liked them - in fact more often it's Thi who is disrespectful - refusing food, not teaching when he promised to, etc.

I like the show, but its also really annoying. There are too many scenes with Thi just standing there cowering,…
I totally agree - I would enjoy it 20 times more if they would stop that. They also need to move this along faster - it's getting old. The actors are doing a great job, but it feels like the same great job over and over.

I'm shocked - I though this would be mediocre at best, although I think Fourth is unusually beautiful.

But it's excellent. The writing is sharp and intelligent, the pacing is snappy and doesn't drag, and the music is woven into the plot. Also, Fourth was really singing and playing.

As few points of interest:
- The principal is not cartoonishly evil - she has reasonable motives.
- No accidental kisses or and trip/catch/stare
- People don't behave bizarrely and out of character just because the plot requires it.
- The actors actually have good comic timing and it's actually funny quite often
- The enemies phase is not carried away like it usually is and isn't dragged out.
- No evil GF or ex-GF in sight.

All-in-all, I'm really impressed. I really like the cast - Fourth is a real find, and Gemini is doing a great job as well.

I hardly like anything and I love it so far.

What??? The ratings dropped from 8.8 to 8.3...
Nothing can maintain an 8.8. Once a large number of people have voted it settles down to a more realistic score.

i'm not big on music as a central theme. should i still give this a shot?
YES! There is music in it, but it's well-integrated into the plot, and leads to some really beautiful moments - I'm really impressed by this series and I thought I would dislike it.

This has started to devolve into being nothing but people's internal monologues, which is boring and bad writing. It's fine for a manga, but not live action.

Also, that kiss was stupid. Come on - these are men in their 20s, not high school students. The eps are only 12 minutes long and yet I kept hitting +10 sec and it felt long anyway.

This is just too 2016 - and it revolves around the most tired and overused plot possible, a guy backing off because he's convinced (with no evidence whatsoever) that the other guy is together with a woman. He's with Seon Ho all day every day and he invites him to dinner every night. When exactly is he dating the woman? I can accept Mu Yeong being a bit clueless, but not mentally deficient.

I'll wait and see if Seon Ho's seduction attempt is hot and/or funny, but if it doesn't pick up, I don't think I can make myself wade through this anymore. This is a big disappointment after a decent beginning.
On My Tooth Your Love Dec 10, 2022
I'm so glad this series got back on track - the drama was so boring and cliche.

Little A and Renmin were a real surprise to me - what an interesting couple. I love that they have nothing in common.

I wanted way more Alex & RJ, but what they did have really drove the plot forward - RJ's notebook was so cute.

And I know some people aren't into the main couple, but I love them - they're so beautiful and their interaction is cute. And I like that their problems are organically between them and not externally imposed like 99% of BLs. I love that we get to see them in their relationship navigating their differences and learning about each other and how to communicate insead of getting together in the last 30 seconds of the series like 99% of BLs.

Anyway, I soured on this a couple of eps back, but now it's one of my favorites airing.

Title La Pluie
I'm beginning to tire of stories where the two are in love, but one won't make a move because he thinks the other one likes someone else when he really likes him. Every other BL. Also, passing each other with umbrellas in the rain, piggy back rides, etc... Although voluntary "fun" piggy-back rides don't bother me. It's the "too drunk to walk home" or "injured by a basketball" rides that irritate me.
On Oh! My Assistant Dec 8, 2022
It's OK. I don't find the characters compelling or even interesting, and the directing isn't very good. The shaky-cam in static scenes is distracting and irritating, and the constant "tell, don't show" makes it dull. Example: "Should I call him or not?" Instead, have him start dialing, then stop, then do it so we can see for ourselves. The whole episode was like that. Very few productions know how to adapt the page to the screen. It's not bad or anything, but Mu Yeong's character doesn't make much sense to me, and we're so deep into the series that they really need to make us understand his mindset fairly quickly.

Vodka on the rocks?! Jail! I'm disappointed in you two 😔Also, how could he draw so well when he was that drunk?…
He didn't seem all that drunk to me, but then BL drunk is so divorced from reality it's meaningless.
