They all remain the dislikable characters they used to be in ep1. The story does not progress either. Pressed…
Is it so hard to find material for stories that they have to adapt a porn novel? The only point of a porn novel is the porn - if you take that out, you're not left with much.
I liked this - the leads have good comic timing. Points are belabored a bit too much which slows things down and reduces the energy a little, but all-in-all it's a less silly Rak Diao, and I did laugh a few times.
Does it get better in EP 2? I had a hard time sitting through Ep 1. It's slick, but in a shallow and soulless way. It feels a bit like BL By the Numbers. All rich characters? Check. Uke who trips over his own feet? Check. Overwrought anger, with shouting and destroying things? Check. Manufactured hatred between main pair? Check. Straight guys who get together? Check. They even made the main characters college students, even thought one is a billionaire bar owner and the other an accomplished architect. It's like they coudn't let go of the cliche even though it makes no sense and is totally unnecessary.
I was bored, and the acting didn't really do much for me. I started to watch Ep 2, but I realized I had no recollection of Ep 1 and had to skim through it, and by the time I was done I had no interest in watching Ep 2.
I liked this epusode, but I would have liked it a lot more 6 episodes ago. This series is so long and so little has happened that I've lost most of my interest. Eiw is way, way less annoying now, but other than that almost nothing has changed - there is change, but it's so subtle. I would have liked to see Eiw's development onscreen instead of offscreen, and because it's so subtle it will make Cake seem like a dick if it upsets him, especially after the way he tortured Eiw with his fg in the earlier episodes.
It all makes sense, and I do appreciate that the character motivations make sense and are character-consistent - that's a rarity - but I'd also like the series to say something, and I'd like it to say it a little faster.
The writing is atrocious.Prapai just wanders all over the place speaking his inner monologue out loud, even when it's not necessary. What else would he be doing when he puts dirty clothes in a hamper and carries if off? You should show instead of tell, but it becomes silly when you do both!
This is someone who has no idea how to write a screenplay - there's no skill at adapting a text to live action.
Also, why on earth would Rain call Prapai instead of Sig or one of Sky's actual friends? What gives Prapai any standing to be taking care of Sky - and to have a key to his apartment? He's not part of Sky's life. It's weird and unmotivataed.
I really like Sky and I think Peat is doing a great job - he's always been my favorite in this, but the material is hard to get into. The uke getting sick and fainting and having to be taken care of is such an overworn cliche that it's just tiring, not sweet.
Plus, if someone is that traumatized over a past relationship, then he needs treatment or at least not having some guy bulldoze him - that makes Prapai selfish, not kind - if his approach isn't working and is upsetting Sky, he should at least try a different strategy, not just pound the guy over and over with the same thing, especially after being given a hard "no". It's just bad and lazy writing.
Wait though - Ai didn't impose himself on Nhai, it was the other way around - Ai even tried to resist Nhai's advances.…
I think if you're in love with someone and they give you a trial period, you'll take it. I think Ai knows Nhai really likes him.
I'm glad that Nhai eventually did tell Ai where his boundary was, but he hadn't before that, so I don't think there's anything wrong with Ai wanting some love. As long as he takes no as no, and he did. But even then, Nhai was sending some seriously mixed signals, so it's clear he was stopping himself from doing what he wanted to do.
Well, ep3 wasn't better. I was bored. I could understand the premise (starting a 1 month relationship to see if…
Wait though - Ai didn't impose himself on Nhai, it was the other way around - Ai even tried to resist Nhai's advances. Now they're just doing the tiresome uke-thinks-sex-is-icky thing that all BLs do, although I give them points that here it's because Nhai is dealing with his sexuality and isn't ready yet, and I think that's been well-handled.
I wouldn't say I'm bored, but I need there to be a story - it can't just be 9 more episodes of this, unless they're going to have Meen spend a lot more time with his shirt off, because I can never tire of that.
This is getting buy on how incredibly hot Meen is. There's really not much of a plot otherwise. The acting was decent this episode, and the chemistry is good with some cute and sexy scenes.
I do like that there's a physical element to their attraction to each other, and they don't shy away from Ai being irritated that Nhai left him seriously turned on, or that Ai teases Nhai about the tissues and sock that he uses to "clean up" after "solo fun". And I think they've done a good job of having Nhai process what's going on - he clearly wants Ai badly, but can't quite square it with his self-perception - and I like that he's aware of this and communicates it.
But we can't have 12 episodes of this - we need a story.

Sorry. I have a dirty mind and am a bad person.

And thank you! I try to be entertaining.
