Wait what, that makes so much sense now.
It's not a spoiler if it's a speculation. Also, it's so obvious that it's not as much of a spoiler to say "there are two boys in this."

The writing for this series is not very smooth. I think they would have been better off making it a continuation than taking a four ep story and stretching it out to 10. There was a lot in this that was cute, but it was basically filler, and Mark was nearly schizophrenic, his behavior was so all over the place.

That was just OK for me, although Yin and War were fantastic and their acting so natural. I just didn't really get the introduction of a random cartoon villain like that.

I guess the issue is because it was a LIE!!! It's a good think Nine didn't throw someone a surprise party or they would have shot him.

Why does everyone always say it's early too judge after one episode? I think that you can't tell how good something is in one episode, but you can definitely tell how bad it is. If the writing, directing, and charactierization are all poor up front, there's not much chance it will improve much.

I didn't say he's a bad person, I just highly recommend he find a different career. People don't have some inherent right to only have positive things said about them, and this isn't an echo chamber the only purpose of which is to shower love on series - it's a discussion forum where we talk about our opionions. Mine is hat Earth is the worst actor I've ever encountered.

I'm sure he's a lovely man. Although you have to wonder about someone who is so incapable of reproducing authentic human behavior or emotion.

When that ominous music started playing when they were kissing on the bow of the yacht, I had a momentary hope that it meant a shark was about to leap out of the water and devour one or both of them, but alas, it was merely strange backround music selection.

I had been hate-watching this, but I find it's so dull and uninteresting that it has faded beyond the reach of hatred, or any other human emotion except ennui.

Nine hired the clients himself because he wanted an excuse to be with Daonuea. For some reason everyone is treating it like he invaded Ukraine or something. And Daonuea is resigning because he wants to be away from Tee for some reason.

I hink thet series is not very good, but it's not because of Jimmy's acting. Where has this weird trend come from…
That was a series saved by ukes. And Boun. But tbh, I thought he was weak in Even Sun - I think he was compelling in UWMA because of his look and myseriousness, not his acting.

I keep going back to Jimmy in Ep 5 of Bad Buddy, where he certainly held his own with Ohm and Nanon - he had such a strong presence that he was actually frightening - I would be sure I was going to die if he confronted me like that.

He's certianly not a great actor, but nether is Sea, and the writing & directing in this are so bad I'm not sure it would be saved if Marlon Brando and Laurence Olivier were the leads.

Have you ever seen a zombie apocalypse film set in a city you live in or near that looks so weird abandoned, as if you were transported to an alternative universe where everything was similar but strange and messed up? That's what it would feel like if it turned out everyone away from MDL likes this series.

Why do they always forget to close the damn door? ParkLee in episode 6 and now TimMai
I was expecting both their mothers and a priest to show up just by chance. At least nothing happened this time and Tim took Mai's shoes off before laying him on the bed. I still have Unforgotten Night PTSD about that.

Earth isn't missing anything. He has every conceivable bad acting trait every discovered, plus some that are beyond human understanding, like how he can make blinking look fake.
On My Secret Love Aug 7, 2022
Ugh.. If they could just have a piano fall on Kim this could be a fantastic series. Mai & Tim is a compelling romance, Park & Lee are so f@#$ing cute I feel like I need to choke a puppy to keep the universe in balance, Bear & Bomb are about the same, and even Mek is naturally talented and charming.

Bad Thai acting is usually flat and robotic, like Ohm Thitiwat or Kao Noppakao, who usually won't ruin a series if they take their shirts off a few times, but Earth is such a terrible actor he's like a black hole of acting, that sucks all the life and light out of everything. He's so supernaturally fake that he even blinks artificially, and his sneeze is so fake that it's LOL funny. I've never experienced this before. In 2moons2 all the acting was terrible so he didn't stand out so much, but even there he was clearly the weakest link, and that's saying something because Ben Brasier was in it.

As if that wasn't enough, his storyline is so horrendously written that I need to hire people who hold me back from punching my fist through my monitor. WT f@#$ity F is this bulls@#$. Just DIE already.

If it's sexual, then yes. A cute innocent romance between 12-year olds is fine. Romance is never illegal - only sex with minors.

Regarding the acting, I disagree that it's bad, and I don't see how Sea is any better than Jimmy. I think there are two problems with this series, and they're fairly severe.

One is the writing. It's terrible. What are Talay's and Puen's characters? Can you describe them in a sentence? All I can come up with is "looks great shirtless" and "has a beautiful smile" for both of them. Not only was there a failure to set up the characters before the body swap, they haven't even been fleshed out post-swap.

Puen was surly, hostile, and reclusive a first, and now he's loudly announcing his love with acts of egregious vandalism. One second he's basically telling Talay he loves him, and the next he's saying it's all an act. That could be cleverly written and explore inhabiting a character vs one's own feelings - the swap could easily be a metaphor. But it's not, it's just lazy and stupid writing.

The second problem is the zero-energy directing. The pacing is bad, and the director is not getting good performances out of his actors - to an extent because he doesn't seem to know how to build characters. Do you remember Tonhon Chonlatee? Awful, but we were all in love with Neo as Na - it was impossible to look away, even when he was offecreen. Here I feel nothing. Actually I was irritatied with his performance this ep.

This series is an endless stream of tropes. All I could muster was a weary sign when Talay was walking away and Puen grabbed his wrist with a gust of wind sound effect. How many times do we have to watch that happen in BL? Or the bouquet. Gosh, I wonder who will happen with that? Stupid and lazy.

Saturday is a big BL day. I had to force myself to watch this, because I try to stack my viewing with worst first and ending with best. But I had a hard time even paying attention to what I was watching except the shirtless scene.

I think I'm going to have to drop this. Maybe I'll check back in a few weeks to see if it's improved. This series isn't terrible, it's just too mediocre to bother with. It doesn't even have the glorious awfulness of Unforgotten Night to entertain me.

For me the middle was a bit dull and I started to lose interest because it seemed to be headed in a boring and conventional direction - but I'm sure glad I stuck with it - and what happened wasn't just superficially glossed over, it was examined and processed.

The product placement wasn't weird in Ep 4? Jimmy shoved an inhaler in Sea's nose. Speaking of which, the 19th c called and wants their product back. Inhalers, seriously? I'm waiting for someone to pull our their pocket watch and snuff box.

...yet it seems like even though a lot of things are 'happening', it doesn't feel like 'something' is happening…
You summary is right on point, although your detaild description is a bit messy - because your central point, which I strongly agree with, is that the pacing is bad - you contradict that by saying you like the pacing.

I'm not sure why they bothered with the alternative universe element eiher - it's irrelevant except for a few throwaway jokes (although I did like the 2gether diss).

The central problem is that the characters weren't established before the swap, so we never got a chance to properly invest in them, and now the pacing is weird because it's either zipping way too fast or barely moving.

The characers area also inconsistent - like Talay talking about how cute Puen is. That scene was really cute and well-acted, but that isn't Talay's character.

The problem is absoluteley not the acting - all these issues would still exist if it were Ohm & Nanon in the lead roles.

I hink thet series is not very good, but it's not because of Jimmy's acting. Where has this weird trend come from of dismissing Jimmy's acting? He's quite good. The level of acting in Thai BLs has never been very good, especially in leads - amateurs are almost always cast. Jimmy was excellent in Bad Buddy, and he's quite good in this too. Actors like Ohm & Kao in UMWA could be replaced by carboard cutouts or mannequins and nobody would notice, but nobody commented on how bad they were - and neither of them have improved any.

I'm totally here for Jimmy's acting. He's charming, nuanced and has drawn me into the story completely. I'm shocked…
I've noticed that narratives tend to develop in BL fandom, and a large number of people jump aboard. One of them is that Jimmy "is not ready for a leading role." It's utter nonnsense. He's much stronger than many of the amateurs that Thai BLs always throw into lead roles. I don't remember this narrative for 2moons2 or Oxygen - and let's be honest about Even Sun - not impressed. Which leads us to UWMA. Is anyone going to say that Ohm is more dyanmic than Jimmy?

Lack of experience doesn't equate to lack of ability or talent. Neo has stolen everthing he's been in, and he started at age 17. Remember Tonhon Chonlatee? Judging by the comments section, most of the audience was watching solely for Neo.

I don't think this series is very good, but Jimmy's acting isn't the problem with it. It's the writing - doing the swap before establishing the characters made it hard to connect to the characters and it's taking too much time to accomplish that.

But it's watchable for Jimmy & Sea.
