westernization surgery? what are you even talking about-
The two most common types of surgery, by far, in Japan (and all of Asia), are eyelid surgery to give people the Caucasian double-eyelid, and nose enlargment, to give them more prominent Caucasian noses. In Thailand & the Philippines, the order is reversed - nose then eyelid.Ironically, most nose jobs for Caucasians are to make them smaller.
It's a fashion right now to do that in Asia, and it's particularly obvious with these two. I hope it endspartly because I'm more attracted to East Asian features than Caucasian (I'm white), but most importantly, I like natural looks.
People should do whatever they want to if it makes them feel better about themselves - but when threre's such a strong trend for people of one race to look like another, espcially in the acting profession where there's a lot of pressure to look a certain way, its concerning. Espcially when it's something permanent.
This series is objectively bad, but it's one of the best guilty pleasures. Bew and Daniel.... Yikes. Dan has always been sexy - remember him in CIWYW? But Bew was right there with him this ep. And I haven't really noticed Boat much before, but he really got my heart beating today.
Even Fluk was moving. But I think the problem with the series is Earth - somehow nothing he does looks natural - there's a profound incincerity to his acting, and I even feel it in BTS.
This pairing doesn't work because of Mark. Mek is an ok actor but he always has relatively good chemistry with…
I agree - Mek has natural sex appeal, so if his acting isn't stellar, he can just take off his shirt or somthing. Dunk I think could get somewhere with some training, but Mark should think about a different career field. He'd make a good mannequin.
That was painful. It says something that I got interrupted while watching this and then totally forgot about it.
I hated Aun's character, but he made me feel something, which was refreshing. (Incidentally, it's nice to see him playing an evil character - he's usually the frail and shy guy.) The kisses in this were terrible. I guess it was better than those weird lips-touching kisses, but it was still passionless.
Mek is so-so in this, but Mark is just.. well, if there was nobody there and everyone was just talking to a blank spot, it would have more life than he puts into it. He has about as much energy as a sloth in a coma. I just don't see anything appealing about Prince, other than that if Lan Na declares independence, the king would be your boyfriend. Of course there's not much appealing about Fah either, other than getting to do things to that body. I will say that Mark did half-passed out drunk very well - it was good that he couldn't follow what Fah was saying.
And I'm so over jealousy plots. It was cute and funny that Fah deliberately did that, but when Fah was dragging a near-dead woman with a staff member leading the way, is "he's going to go have sex with her" the first thing that would come to mind? Come on.
I don't wanna compare to star in my mind...but am I only one that feels that this is like better paced??? Like…
It's better paced, but that's about all it's better at. It's not worse at anything either, so it's still ahead, sort of like having the flu is better than COVID.
this is very cuteso far but i'm gonna have to agree with the comments bellow : The kiss scenes are way too weak.I…
I agree, except I think JoongDunk's kisses were just as bad. And their chemistry as non-existent. At least Dunk is a cutie. Well, Mek does look unusually good with his shirt off, but it's not enough.
I also thought the reconciliation was crap. After 9 episodes of pining and chasing after him, that was quite a…
Even that, if it had been cleverly set up, could have been cute, but it wasn't. The author noticed she only had two epsidoes to go and there wouldn't be enough time for shameless fluff unless she wrapped up the drama quickly.
Even if the answer to "can I have a hug?" were "Yes, after your spanking" it might have worked.
I couldn't get through Ep 3 - it's so dull an uninteresting. I'm surprised - Japan has been on a roll lately with Old Fashion Cupcake and Minato's Laundromat. I couldn't pay attention, even with it on 2x. Also, the entire cast has Westernization surgery - it was actually a little shocking when that guy showed up who actually looked Japanese. He and the temple were the only things that were. It has that "uncanny valley" effect that's distracting. Plus, I love East Asian features.
Kaneda for me is a ridiculous character. It might be intresting if he were just really awkward and tense, but we can hear his inner monologue, and he's mentally 12. Maybe less. Nobody gets to that age without ever having had a crush - it's just kind of silly. It would be fine if he's merely incapable of dealing with it, but not totally unaware like that. And if he were, like on the spectrum or something, then he should be written that way, which would also be interesting.
The cinematography was top notch, but it's not enough.
The special episode definitely helped - something like that in place of the drama towards the end of the series would have been so much better, but the Sailor Moon outfit is fine at any time. I like that they didn't just rehash the high points but rather Ze Shou re-experienced them knowing what he does now - that was clever and sweet.
It was interesting in the BTS that Max Lin is slimmer than he looks in the series - they were even commenting on it and the DP assured him he looks great in the shot. Which he did. And Shi Chen Hao is self-conscious about his body, which is more or less perfect, but I guess that's how body image works.
I think Talay might be getting paired with the lawyer played by Pak. Lee Long Shi and Top (*wink wink*) will keep…
Me too - I don't think I've been in that much danger of spontaneously combusting in a BL. Maybe You're My Sky with Vee & Dome, who actually could be the younger brothers of these two - when I saw the preview I even thought it was them for a second until I noticed the extra 50 lbs of muscles.
My biggest problem with the new loop is that nothing really matters. All that's necessary is for Tol to win Tin…
They put out a statement that they're in pre-production now, filming in Sep, and releasing in Dec. Who knows what can happen, but they're intending to make it.
It has a strong supernatural element, and it isn't the highest-quality thing you'll ever see, but it does have a good cast and a sex-fight between a nun and a witch, so there's that. It's campy, and if you don't take it too seriously it's a lot of fun. It has a twist that fits perfectly but I didn't see coming.
Shin must be what Togawa was like in high school. 😁He’s even pursuing a guy who’s 10 years older! haha
I could see that - Togawa seems a little more "on the spectrum" than Shin, or if not, he has a more formal personality, but that could certainly develop.

Producer two: "Don't forget that one of them has to have a man-bun."
