i would have enjoyed other kiss scene as well. Lets hope they release a season 2 (with lots of kisses of course)
It might be hard to do a whole season (I don't want another To My Star 2), but a special might be good - exploring the problems with very different people living together.
I once dated a guy with exactly the same age difference - it was actually worse - 25 & 35 which makes a bigger differnce than 30 & 40 (in fact, it didn't work out, but we dated again 10 years later and it was much better). Younger people are really annoying. It's hard not to get parental.
My biggest problem with the new loop is that nothing really matters. All that's necessary is for Tol to win Tin…
I think Jinta is dark and mysterious enough that they won't go there - he already seems vaguely evil - it's only his actions (to save people) that have been "good" - not only good, but make them better people. I think thee twist, which I'm objecting to, is that Tin is a little evil - it was he who gave Rit to Dr. Sak and he didn't seem to mind Sak offering him a role harvesting and selling people's internal organs. Previously, he would have been shocked and immediately went to Sing. It didn't even seem on his mind. I would be a bit preoccupied if my boss said "let's kill people and sell their body parts? Sound good?"
tin's personality is shown as what it would be like if tol were to not be a part of his life. i think it is kinda…
People have been saying that, so I went back to watch the first part - he was tired, because he had a long and busy shift, and had Tol dying over and over and had a weird guy appear and tell him he's trapped in a the loop, but he was polite to everyone, even calling big gay nurse "P", and he was fairly nice to everyone. A nurse crashed into him with her cart and he didn't get mad (and you know Sing would have yelled at her), etc. He had a first negative impression of Tol because he thought he was a drunk driver, but he wasn't about to donate his organs to Dr. Sak.
Wasn't there a kis ep. 4 just before the finger thing? It looked very much like one! Am I mistaken?
Yes, but that wasn't within the context of them deciding to be together - and it wasn't really consensual. I don't mind that at all - like I said, it was one of the hottest scenes I've seen in a BL. Or in other words, not a Happy Ever After kiss.
There is only one episode left so they are setting scene for the big finale.
I get what you're saying, but I had hoped for the setup and finale to be earned. Now it's just all magic, which removes the stakes and most of the dramatic tension. Tol should just kiss Jr. Evil Doctor so he remembers getting arrested for his crimes in the last loop.
My biggest problem with the new loop is that nothing really matters. All that's necessary is for Tol to win Tin…
Yes, I think it was a mistake to go in this direction, because the stakes are gone, the flow of the story is seriously disrupted, and character and consistency have gone out the window to advance the plot, often through handwaves. If Jinta had given Tin the notebook rather than it just being a normal one, it might be easier to swallow - but even then, if you start introducing too many "magic" solutions, it removes dramatic tension. It doesn't even matter if the protagonist dies, because, well, magic.
So somehow what Tin wrote in the notebook survived the loops (when the writing shouldn't be there when he goes back in time because at that point he hasn't written anything yet), but Tin can't see what he wrote now, until Tol kisses Tin in his sleep, which somehow makes him able to read the notebook. But that makes it irrelevant if Tin loves him or not - it's the act of kissing that's magic, not the love behind it. For that matter, what do you even need the notebook for? Kissing Tin does anything reading the notebook can, so you have two Deux ex machinas that do the same thing.
Jinta and the looping is as much supernatural as there should be. When you add in the magic notebook and magic kisses, you're not even trying anymore, you're just forcing the plot to a conclusion because you don't know how to get there otherwise.

I tihnk MAI's point is that there are normally more serious underlying issues behind suicidal tendencies that require care and treatment, not just eliminating a trigger and leaving that person to fend for himself. He will inevitably face another setback in life - what will happen?
Wow, you must really have a fragile ego if you're that bothered by someone having a slightly different opinion than yours. My opinion of this series has been positive since the beginning, but I'm a bit disappointed that it's straying from the smart writing it started with and getting a bit lazy and not maintaining character consistncy.
They did the thumb thing, so I can forgive the lack of kiss, but I liked the idea of a domineering younger man and I wish we'd gotten to see more. When you have people who are 30 & 40, it's a bit odd to make the series that chaste - Japan needs to get over it. Because they clearly can, if you've seen their anime and manga, which make Weimar Germany seem tame by comparison.
Also, when the women wer fawning over Kozue I kept thinking, "You can actually see Togawa right there, can't you?"
Anyway, this was lovely and sweet, and the highlight of my BL week. Along with Love Mechanics.
I liked it a lot. I hope if I ever get in a fight it's with one of them, because I wouldn't notice them hitting me, but I do like how natural their interaction is. Mon's laugh sounds real and sincere - I was impressed. Oak's acting improves with every project.
The ending ruined Manner of Death for me. I didn't hate the series or anytihng, but it didn't fulfill it's initial…
I like it better too, and I buy Tin and Tol more than Max & Tul, but I'm not enjoying this series anymore - it's always been a bit of a rough watch with so much secondhand embarassment, but now I'm over it. Also, I'm not a fan of cartoonishly evil villains - Dr Sak has crossed over, and his henchman is ridiculous.
I've loved this series since the beginning, but this episode sucked for me. This author is too attached to awkward scenes that cause intense secondhand embarassment, and I don't enjoy watching that - it made sense before, but now it's just gratuitous torture.
TBH, I'm losing interest. There are too many things thrown into the story without support. What's with Tin's totaly personality change? He was never like that - not even a hint. Everyone loved him, and he was nice and fairly cheerful. He didn't like drunk drivers for obvious reasons, but it didn't poison him like this. It's too arbitrary and too late in the series to throw this in.
Also, Dr. Sak is now an idiot, which is very convenient. I have no expectations for the finale - there's no way everything can be resolved in an unrushed manner - much like Manner of Death, which left me thinking "Hunh? That's it?"
I loved the last portion of your review, it is so true omg. Literally went huh? with the two of them suddenly…
Thank you. I'm glad you mentioned that because I referred to the section and there were punctuation errors - I must have been tired. I wrote it just after watching the eps.
This can be resolved in one episode, but it would mean sacrificing some story/plot lines. I am hoping like everyone…
The ending ruined Manner of Death for me. I didn't hate the series or anytihng, but it didn't fulfill it's initial promise, with the story getting messier and messier as it went along. That's happening here too, unfortunatly. I struggled to get through this episode and it felt like a rehash. Not necessarily the plot, but the endless awkwardness that's getting tiring and tiresome.
