That's a great point.
On Work From Heart May 1, 2022
That was a contender for worst kiss ever. I loved Gameplay in Ingredients, but now I'm starting to wonder if it was just Jeff Satur sexiness spilling all over the series and making Gameplay seem better than he actually is.

The trailer as a whole was not awful, but it looked like it was only slightly BL.

I think maybe Na's mental illness was caused by knowing Saen killed Sib - she knows about it, as she and Jan discussed…
I started thinking I missed an ep or something - maybe they'll do yet more flashbacks in ep 16 to flesh it out. They're getting a little carried away with making things look like one thing when it's another. Like at Tatarn's house - come on.

Ah. I thought you meant the sexual content, but you meant the moral content. I was wanting to ask you what you thought not-toned down would be, because if you can imagine that, you should be writing PWP. :)
On The Miracle of Teddy Bear May 1, 2022
Well, I think we know how this will end now.

Theory: this whole story is Nut's screenplay. People have said this before, I know - but the conversation at the island seems to me to hint strongly at this, and it would explain why Tofu looks like Nueng.

I have to say that this epsiode was bordering on ridiculous with all the twists and turns.

Saen's acting was particularly strong this ep.

Ep 15 spoiler. The flashback is convoluted and can be confusing, so this is the summary* Saen doctored Sib's meds…
I think maybe Na's mental illness was caused by knowing Saen killed Sib - she knows about it, as she and Jan discussed it.

What I'm a little confused about is the conversation between Tofu and Saen at the hospital - it sounded like Saen helped Tofu lie about his amnesia, and I don't see how that makes any sense, plus Tofu seemed to be admitting that he stayed around the house until Nut and Na accepted him and that he's been seeking justice for Tatarn all along - or at least he's starting to gain Tatarn's memories.

Title KinnPorsche
Ugh - did he put a slice of processed "cheese" in the noodles? That's corn oil with food coloring and chemical flavoring. I could see Porsche doing that, but Kinn?

And good God. How could Kinn do that with Porsche under those circumstancs? I'm shocked. I would have made him brush his teeth first.

This was the first episode I liked - the silliness was kept within reason and it wasn't full of "yeah, that wouldn't happen" moments. There were two bits of excellent comic timing - the curtain scene and Tankul bashing Vegas over the head just as the tension rose to a peak.
On La Cuisine May 1, 2022
Title La Cuisine
I like this a lot, but I'd like this to quickly move past Nanming's scheming - the whole thing is too mean-spirited to go with the lovely and sweet vibe of this series. Was anyone bored of the lunch box of the day we had for the first 4 eps? I wasn't - I thought it was well-written and a joy to watch.

Normally I don't like fluffy shows, but this is also avoiding the kind of stupid tropes that tend to go with fluff. This might be the first time in BL history that the friends immediately saw through the villainess's scheme and actually took logical action to stop her. And I was absolutely astonished that Ram didn't wander in at the end to misunderstand who Jirachin is.

The green bean PSA was seriously OTT. It was so long and insane that I was cackling.

In the scenes from next week, I'm sure that's a test - I don't think he meant it. How did Jirachin suddenly get cute when he teleported home with a completely different haircut and styling (I just answered my own question). His bf is hottt. Titan too.

That's the worst photo of Best - he's so hot and you can't tell at all from that. Wow, that was a steamy trailer - there was more skin in that than most entire series. By far.

I'm really looking forward to this - the special ep surprised me with how good it is - those two have fantastic chemistry, and the writing & production were all wonderful.

Hi there - re your comment in the above discussion, I think you’re mixing up books. Na is reading The Little…
I mean that his sole purpose in life is Nut's happiness. Have you ever heard him express any interest in hobbies or a potential career? He was anxious to return to being a teddy bear because he wanted to be there for Nut to hug, and then he wanted to be human so he could hug Nut.

Tian tends to love fearfully. He struggles with trust and it shows in how he cares for his niece and now Poon…
Tian was fairly direct in this episode, though - I was very pleasantly surprised that Tian not only carefully and completely explained Poon's misunderstanding about Amy, but he also didn't allow his fear of Poon leaving him lead to 8 episodes of implausible lack of communication to create artificial drama.
On What Zabb Man! Apr 30, 2022
I'm getting a little tired of th 45-minute lean-in to a kiss. Nobody does that. And it more or less guarantees you'll be interrupted if you take 45 minutes to kiss someone. Also, why were the kids so malicious to stop them from kissing? Although BL is so chaste that kissing on the lips would be heavy BDSM in any other genre.

How is What Zupp Man! a good name for a cooking competition? That was weird. But at least it makes the overall series title mean something - I was thinking it was terrible, but now I get it.

Is Ahtip's secretary everyone's hero? But Poon was being a child - for like the first time in BL history, someone clearly explained the misunderstanding instead of just saying "It's not what you think!" and letting it fester for seven episodes, and Poon wouldn't accept it? Not only that, but also for the first time in history, the RL ignored the evil ex when she said "don't go after him!" Minus 10 points for Poon. Wasting two historical moments. Tsk. Actually 3 - it's only Ep 4 and the RL has already told evil-ex that he's into the guy.

I hope this doesn't get too Amy-centric. The actress is doing a great job, but her character is so unpleaseant that it kind of spoils my enjoyment of the series. Altohugh the fight was funny - the stuff-a-tomato-in-the-mouth fu made me laugh.

Peter & Boss are much better than in Hidden Love - although there's been no sweaty naken Peter tied to a chair. At least not yet. It was so adorable when he say " 'kay?" (OK)

Also appreciated: Poon closed his eyes in the kiss instead of doing that silly wide-eyed manga thing.
On Rak Diao Apr 30, 2022
Title Rak Diao
It's not necessarily any sort of definitive data point, but if you look at the one31 youtube channel, Rak Diao horrendously outperforms everything else - the most you see for other shows is 150K views, whereas RD is always at least 3 times that - and ten times most other shows. I'm sure a lot of that is the international audience, but 500K views alone is pretty healthy and competes well with popular GMM shows - and this is much less expensive to produce. And the amount earned just from views is enough for a significant amount of the budget. I know Country Boy 2, which is an hour long and included a lot of costly outdoor location shots, cost $6,000, and one31 would earn at least half that much per ep of Rak Diao, plus it makes all their other shows earn more too. And if something is getting watched, sponsors pay more.

They aren't joking around with this series - I thought it would be one long tease bordering on gay-baiting, but wow - even Diao knows he's in love. Although I think Rak's feelings have been clear for quite some time. I really wish they weren't doing the ex-gf dropping out of the sky at the last minute trope - I really hate that - but the heat between these two makes up for it. Even though you-know-what was just a dream, that he was dreaming it at all was major.

Earth can really do longing stares - it doesn't hurt to have kissable lips. And Win can really rock white jeans. The outfit with the red overshirt was delicious.

Wouldn't you worry though, that as a teddy bear Tofu doesn't have real free will, and so he'd essentially be Nut's love slave? I might not mind having Tofu as my love slave, but that would have to wear on my conscience a little.

Oh. Thanks. Hmm. That book is a lot less relevant to Teddy Bear. But that would definitely make Tofu the prince, and that turned out much worse. But he's also the narrator, which doesn't mean anything that I can think of. Anyway, to me that means there's no hope for Tofu, at least as a human. If he's a teddy bear it retains the ambiguity of the book - but I read it as an adult and it was pretty clear to me that the prince was naive and died because he believed the snake.

There is a snake in Teddy Bear - who seems likely to be the cause of Tofu's end.

I think he felt it, the flashback was from his perspective thats why he impulsively gave him his purse.
OK, but then either the directing or acting are off. He looked mildy irritated, as if there was something sticky on the wallet and now he has to go wash his hands. Also, nobody would keep a photo in their wallet for four years unless it had importance to them - if Nuea suspects it's the photo he wrote on (actually, he more or less knows. 4 years ago is not that long ago and phyiscal photos were just as extremely rare as they are now), then his reaction would be different. BLs rely too heavily on poor communication, which is frustrating. When it's well written and realistic, it can be good, but not when it seems manufactured just to prolong the story.

Also, it's not just up to Kluen, is it? We've gotten so used to ukes having no agency that we expect the seme to do all the work. Kluen isn't doing nothing, he's being very kind - sweet even. He can't just out of th blue say "I like you:" after four years apart - and they weren't friends back in high school, and that would be weird to say to a virtual stranger.

I am aware I'm overthinking it, if you're wondering.
