I think they all might look same to some because they are not familiar with the (support)actors yet AND they are…
I think part of it is there's usually exactly the same group of minor characters - in this case literally because that's all JJ and his twin do. There's a funny one, the best friend, a fujoshi, etc.
im i the only one who doesnt like this series ?? the character have no charm, they all look exactly the same and…
I'm not sure they all look the same - a lot of the side characters do, though, but they do feel like they're all pulled off a shelf labeled "stock BL characters". There is a soft-focus filter to help give everyone flawless skin that's annoying but not as bad as in some other series, and the story is hobbled together from threads pulled of a shelf labelled "stock BL plot devices."
There was nothing at all wrong with that ep. The acting & dialog was pretty good, the director thankfully went for a more natural style of speaking instead of pausing for several hours between phrases, the pacing was good, the technical aspects of it were good, and I like the cast.
But it is so totally devoid of originality that I could barely keep awake. It's almost as if they took every possible plot cliche and stuffed it into one series. College kids who knew each other in high school, awkwardness, confession, enemies to lovers, love interest has girfriend (who we all know is evil), etc., etc., etc. Prediction: Nuea will trip and Khluen will catch him and they will stare at each other with their faces very close togther. Nuea will eat something and somehow not notice he has something stuck to the corner of his lip and Khluen will wipe it away with his hand (hankerchief optional), there will be a piggy-back ride, dabbing a wound with a q-tip, Khluen will blow-dry Nuea's hair, there will be a drinking scene that results in projectile vomiting and total memory erasure, someone will be hit in the head with a basketball, and everyone will suddenly behave out of character in Ep 7 leading to drama generated by an implausible failure of communication and leading to crying to flashbacks of good times spent together with a sappy ballad blaring on the soundtrack.
Even the presence of JJ as the funny friend is a cliche now. Someone needs to give the poor guy a better job - he's cute enough and he did a good job in Dark Blue Kiss.
And I'm calling it now: That last scene didn't happen. He fantasized that and it's just a fakeout. I'm sure almost all of you are assuming that. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.
is my TV broken or does everyone have green skintones?
It's not you - but it's not green. This is the first BL series I've seen that doesn't have a red shift. The high school shirts actually look blue instead of pink. Red tends to make things warmer, and most Thai directors seem to color correct toward red in the editing. If you don't do that, everthing will be more yellow and blue. Either it's just the director's style, or he'll go red once the romance kicks in to warm it up.
You're stronger person than me. If I'd tried to watch seven eps of this in a row I would have killed myself. It…
I think in general I liked You're My Sky better, except I think it had a terrible last few eps - but this one hasn't ended yet so there's still time to ruin it. I like Soh's character better than any of the YMS characters, though.
For Tack’s motivation. He hasn’t gotten over high school yet. Coach called him out on that. The first time…
That's a good point. A time skip used properly can be a good thing. I don't know if you ever watched Arrested Development, but whenevr anyone was moping with heartbreak they's have "All By Myself" blaring on the soundtrack (it was a comendy). They can be used badly, too though, like in You're My Sky where they totally deflated the best couple.
Thanks about Tack - I must have fallen into a coma during that scene. It happens quite often in this series.
Absolutely agree with everything you said here! I've lost faith in the series and feel sorry for all the cast…
I will freely admit that due to my shallowness I will likely scan through future episodes for skin, although I doubt we'll ever see Green - he's noticably more muscular than Chap and that's against BL law.
"if Nawee took his shirt off in front of me it would be instantaneous too" LMAO i love this..about this part :…
I hadn't thought of that - that's a good point. On the other hand, Nawee should understand, given his own circumstances, the desire to remain closeted with your family. That doesn't mean that he couldn't still have said they were no longer together, it's at least mitigating.
I don't think I can sit through this anymore - I mean there's boring, and then there's BORING, and then there's this series. This was an entire episode of Debbie Downer wandering around sulking, and the bullying scene was excruciating - what was even the purpose of that? And did it need to be THAT long? We don't even have any idea why the bully guy hates Mon so much - maybe it's because he's so dull and depressing.
I thought for a minute there they were going to do something revolutionary, but I should have known better. It was still pushing a BL boundary a little, so better than nothing. Although BL writers have strange notions of sex roles.
The condom scene was really funny - the director has really good visual comic timing - they way Nuea looked disgusted and then pulled out that huge box...
The confrontation in the bar was funny too, and it's to the series' credit that Nuea wasn't bothered by what Noh called him.
I think it was really needed for one of the boys to be more aggressive - the series was in danger of getting repetitive with all three pairs having the pursuer and the shy virginal routine going on forever, so good for Noh.

But other than that it was good.
