Title The Tuxedo
I'm struggling to find positive things to say, and all I can come up with is Chap shirtless. Green is a great actor, but there's nothing for him to do in this. And I doubt we'll see him shirtless.

I'm OK with a shallow plot in a short series, but not a nonsensical one. I'd say it was a clumsy transition from Aiaoon hating Nawee to being in love with him, but there was absolutely none - it was a light switch. Although if Nawee took his shirt off in front of me it would be instantaneous too. Isn't Nawee's family situation bad enough? Why on earth would you have Aiaoon's previously-unmentioned girlfriend drop out of the sky? And Aiaoon said they've broken up, which begs two questions: 1) Why is Nawee so upset that Aiaoon has an ex that he's crushed, and 2) why on earth is Aiaoon's ex at his birthday?

The cinematography and direction are lackluster, not supporting the acting (where it exists). The kiss while at least not the creepy lips touching off center with eyes wide open thing with triple-take shot, had no buildup, not even a musical one - and then Jeff Satur is blasting at full volume and the scene became unintentionally funny. Sorry Jeff, you can't save this one.

But again, the thing I can't get past is that the clothing is terrible - if there's one thing you need to get right in a series about a master tailor, it's the tailoring! They didn't even hem the trousers! Green's were bunched up at his ankles, at last 10 cm too long, his jacket was ill-fitting, and the waistcoat made him look more like he was volunteering to defend Mariupol than to attend a fancy dinner. Nawee's suit was better, but it was a very conservative business suit, not celbratory, and his slacks weren't hemmed properly either. I feel sorry for the actors having to work in three-piece suits all day in that heat and humidity.

Have you seen episode 6? Chap is a mess and there comes the trope of having someone suddenly appearing to spoil…
You are very wise to have low expectations of Ep 6, although at least there's no rubber kiss.

Cast... make... me... EXPLODE. I'm dead now.

But seriously, is there some sort of board meeting every month to decide on the BL theme everyone has to follow? For the first few years the vote was always "Engineer" or "High School". But we have strings of cooking/restaurant-related, now medical dramas...

I like this show because it breaks down the MASC4MASC BL tropes..... what are u even talking about. In real life…
Yes, you're right - it's awful enough within the gay community. I avoid straight-acting guys, largely because the key word is "acting" and they tend to have a lot of issues. Plus, all the social events are barbeques. I'm very straight-acting and I hate it. I'm shy and self-conscious and way too conservative (in behavor, not politics).

You're right about many fem bottoms exclusively wanting masc tops, but a lot of masc guys are just as bad - maybe worse and more visceral because their disdain for fem guys is often sublimated self-hatred.

Personally, I don't care how flaming someone is as long as they have a hot body... um. I mean a great personality.

I can see reasonable criticism of Toh, but because he's a psycho stalker and takes 7 hours to say anything, not because he's fem. And nobody better be dumping on my Jao.

Amber looked like he was having a panic attack because he's claustrophobic
I like the series much more again after the latest episode. But my point there was that it's always the uke that has these issues - weak uke, strong seme to take care of him. How would the story have been diminished if Le Chien had the panic attack? Someething like that will never happen.

I feel like the remembering part is about there life before they died? Since Tua couldn't agree with Prakan when…
That would make sense, but if Tuaphee is not a ghost but has a physical body, how is he functioning without a heart, or whatever? Does that mean he's actually an animated corpse? That would be icky. It feels a little like this hasn't been well-thought out, but it's not as if ghost stories really follow any rules either, and in any case it's too early to judge. It just feels a litttle messy to me.

I agree and disagree. It is not true that all bottoms are portrayed as only masc. It is mostly true that main character bottoms are at least straight-passing ("masc" is a bit strong for characters like Pete in LBC or Haebom in Cherry Blossoms, or Earth Katsamonnat), but they are never, ever MORE masc than the top.

But ALL non-main character (by that I mean main pair and secondary pairs) bottoms are not just effeminate, they're extremely effeminate, and usually predatory, shrieking like a banshee whenever a half-good-looking man wanders in and pawing him endlessly. Same with trans characters.

I agree there is nothing wrong with this series and it gets points for having effeminate main characters, which only Friend Forever has really done so far - expecially Jao, who has a very realistic body-image issue. I'm just saying it could have been even better if they had had a constrasting couple - like if Daisy were the top.

I do get what you mean. Prakan is an exception to the rule for some reason that we haven't been told yet, or at least that's how I interpret it, although I may be totally wrong.

I don't understand your point - are you claiming that all bottoms are effeminate? I can assure you that's far from true.

Or you might have misunderstood my point, which is that instead of having three pairs where you have a straight-acting jock top and an effeminate bottom, why not mix it up? Bottoms can be macho jocks and tops can be effeminate. BL is very formulaic and treats it as law that the Top is always taller, and I can't think of a single exception to this, almost always older (Gen Y is the only exception I can think of), and always, without exception. more masculine.

That's equating passivity with feminity which is sexist, and since the semes are never gay and usually more or less straight guys that fall for one guy (ever), it's homophobic, epecially as ukes are usually so passive as to barely have agency and are terrible at eveything physical - except traditional female activities like cooking or the arts.

It is definitely BL and even can be considered LGBT, as both Nut and Gen are openly gay. There is no way this…
I understand what you're saying now. I would agree it's not a typical BL - it's using a lot of classics soap tropes, like twins that appear suddenly without any preparation or previous mention. The OTT emotion is also not typical of the genre, which usually employs very reserved and understated acting. The romance, though is BL-like, although having openly gay masculine characters like Nat is still unusual - but Tofu is of the typical ambiguous sexuality.

It's hard to classify - it's either a BL-ish lacorn or a lacorn-ish BL.

If this were a normal series, I'd agree - but there are 16 x 90 minute episodes - after 4 eps, there are still 18 hours to go, which is twice as long as a "standard" BL series. If the romance goes too fast, there will be nothing to do!
The "reaper rules" are confusing. So they're dead people, but not ghosts or angels - so are they reanimated corpses? They're cold to the touch, so do you have to microwave them before sex so you don't feel like a necrophiliac? They obviously have physical form, and nobody can see or remember them, unless for some reason they're wearing Hawaiian shirts. But if they're invisible, why did the reaper boss say nobody can remember them? How do you remember or not remember something invisible?

I've been wathching this because I really like Karn, Pat, and Yacht, but there doesn't seem to be an underlying plot. Self-contained episodes have their advantages, and it's working well in Rak Diao/One Love, but that's a sitcom, not a drama. I guess there's the mystery of their past connection, but that hasn't been interesting so far, because there's so little context to the characters. When you do that, it's hard to care because it feels like something random thown in.

The only revelation that would have any setup is thatTuaphee was the family gardener when Prakan was a child, but that would sure be dull.

I genuinely wanted to give this a chance since it's clear that the director really tried to give a mature spin…
That is exactly my feeling about this. For me it's not really enjoyable to watch evil doctors plotting - it's just frustrating. Most of us have to face office politics in real life - the last thing I want is to have it in my BL, too. I like all the characters in this, except unfortunately for Prakan - I don't know if it's the acting, writing, directing, or some combination, but I don't like him at all, and that makes it hard to enjoy the series overall.

I meant four different posts in rapid succession that make the same point - and you did it again here, so 5. If you're that upset do you want me to have Oat send you an apology video? But will probably be full of eyebrow-rasing and smiles.

That didn't look much like a BL - and I don't think I would have put that kiss in the trailer. I'm pretty sure they're doing it wrong - it's not that hard to aim a kiss.

But if it's the Ingredients team, it will probably have sharp editing and not be boring, so that's something.

I feel the same way. I just cannot with Mix's character after ep. 1, which is a bummer because I love Earth to…
Everyone keeps saying it gets better - I'll give it one more ep. It's not just what a dick he is, it's difficulty understanding his behavioral swings.
