Yes, that's putting it better than I did. Characters aren't interesting unless they have something to overcome, and when it's something internal, that's 10 times more interesting than when it's external. Plus, there's a fantasy element at play that's not just for humor - there is already a lot of metaphor and symbolism, and to me, this is one of the most complex and interesting BLs that I've seen, although I'm kind of hoping that a piano will fall on that awful woman at work.

Theo is a malignant narcissist. Nut woke up with a naked stranger in his bed that broke into his house and stole…
Obviously mentally ill? Isn't that a little too severe? Nut isn't perfect, his behavior isn't perfect, yes. But look what he's dealing with - and we don't even know everything yet. Bad enough he's being severely sexually harassed at work and home by a crazy woman.

I just don't understand why so many people are so intolerant of people not behaving well in dramas. People don't always behave well, and sometimes there are deep reasons for it, like is clearly the case here - you dismissed him as a prick who's sublimating petty problems into anger at his mother - don't you think that's making a lot of ungeneroua assumptions? I think it's a whole lot more than that.

But is a decent person under a lot of stress and dealing with a lot of past trauma. He doesn't belong anywhere near the same category as that little psychopath from Enchante (I'm fine with passing judgment on someone who is completely awful for the entire series.)

WTF, right? Has he never spoken before? When he said "I'll take the tram back" I jumped out of my seat - where…
Yes - that's the one I'm referring to - for the first part he's mostly just standing there, and when Ram offers to give him a ride, he says he'll take the tram, but if came out so deep and masculine that it startled me. He really doesn't speak much, and when he does, it's usually very soft polite phrases - he mostly just says "khrap".
On The Miracle of Teddy Bear Apr 3, 2022
This series is really wonderful, although obviously too mature in subject matter for a lot of the audience, who think Nut is a terrible person because he's upset at waking up naked in bed with a strange man that broke into his house, stripped him naked, stole his teddy bear best friend, and who his mother wants to move in to keep her company. Not only that, but Nut has to share a mother with 87 other BL characters, and what's more, there's Something in his room.

Right. What a complete dick for not reacting like Jesus would. Although if it were me, I wouldn't care if he's a thief or not - if he looks like that I'm keeping him. Clothing optional, but not preferred.

I love that we have a more mature cast for once - the acting is really good and the men are beautiful. I also like that we apparently have a gay main character, which is unusual. I mean Nut. Tofu is a teddy bear. I guess this technically makes Nut a Furry.

Is 2022 the year for PRICKS, as male leading characters in Thai BL dramas…?- First, we had Theo in Enchanté.-…
Theo is a malignant narcissist. Nut woke up with a naked stranger in his bed that broke into his house and stole his precious best friend teddy bear, and his mother wants to keep him.

If you think it's unreasonable to be extremely upset at what's going on, them maybe you should just hang out with all the other saints in the world that can be morally perfect and totally calm about things like this.

Jesus Christ, you people are utterly merciless. Why do watch dramas if you can only tolerate perfect people?

Pop is starting to show some depth in his acting - I got some subtlety from Ram today instead of reserved blandness. And Lukchup is so f#$%ing cute in a way that I want to violate. You just know he has the best "O" face. I have to say that with those huge anime eyes it makes my breath catch when he smiles.

OK, it's time to permanently retire the reach-over seatbelt fastening move. It's gotten really, really old, and it's weird. Although I though I did find funny and really like the OTT romantic piano music - it was lke what you would play the first time Romeo & Juliet kiss. It was really quite lovely. And the phone call scene was also very sweet and romantic.

And I really, really hope this doesn't become an endless spiral of evil female villainess plotting because it's already old.

So, umm, Ram's brother.

What the hell happened? Last time around Keptawan seemed goofy/eccentric but now he seems downright intellectually…
There's a mistake in the subtitles - that was supposed to mean that it was 25 days after he arrived total, i.e. day 25, not day 40 (15+25). They did make Keptawan a bit OTT incompetent, but it can make you nervous if someone is yelling at you all the time. I'm pretty sure Keptawan was always smiling before, too - remember when he was telling the boys they were going to lose their house? He's always smiling, but there's often sadness behind it - I think that was pretty clear when he was in his room at the end, until Nubdao called and he brightened.

I think everyone needs to relax. What exactly do you think that drug is, that makes someone fall in love with you? If that existed we'd KNOW it. That's just a love potion storyline - a staple of romantic fantasy. And as for the bear story, how much do you think you can hurt someone with a wire coat hangar? I guess you could strangle them with it, but even if their butt is made of glass it's not going to hurt to get spanked with one.

Maybe a new law is needed: the only BLs that are permitted are where absolutely nothing ever happens except cute boys doing cute things to each other. Won't that be fun and interesting?

This looks like a hot mess. Why do they have to including drugging someone!?!? Also, when will they stop making…
That seemed clearly a supernatural storyline - what drug makes someone fall in love with you? It's just the old love potion theme.

OK, I do really like this series, but there a couple of things bothering me. First, and least important, it's too slow, and I mean each individual scene is too slow, with people walking too slow and taking too long to say anything. Toh's awkwawrdness is getting a little stale. I find setting it on 1.25x largely solves this, but that still doesn't quite work.

But more importantly, although I do like that this features very effeminate gay men as main characters, I don't like that effeminacy is equated with passivity. There are three couples, all of which feature a macho jock seme and a fairly useless queeny uke. Why do all three couples have to be that same way? Why can't one be a queeny jock and a masculine nerd, or better yet, why can't one of the three effeminite guys be a seme and one of the tough jocks the uke? Why do we have to stick so tightly to this formula which manages to be both homophobic and misogynist?

One thing I really like in this is that people in love are physically attracted to each other and like to touch. When Toh said "I'm not ready", I groaned thinking "here we go with this Victorian uke shit again", but he didn't mean emotionally/psychologically ready, he meant in terms of needing a little time to getting prepared. presumably to get rid of his weird Nuea collection and get himself spruced up to look his best. And the line "How about Friday?" was a classic.

Anyway, this is a lot of fun - as far as whacky comedies go, I still like Rak Diao best, but this is close behind.

A bartender riding a superbike like Ducati???
It was hard to take the money problems seriously. If you owe 200,000 baht in rent, can you afford a 1,000,000 baht bike? That's half of his uncle's debt. And if you can afford a 1M baht bike, you earn enough so that the 2M debt shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Well, it was the first episode. Can't analyze everything just yet. I was also a bit worried at the beginning of…
Yeah, I just didn't love the action - it was too cartoonish, with guys with machineguns in a narrow tunnel unable to hit, or a bunch of guys with guns for no apparent reason put them down to go hand-to-hand instead of just shooting Kinn, etc. Or Porsche is so cool that he can drink 20 shots and then have a martial arts battle? Too silly.

But the human parts were great, like Porsche's relationship with his brother, Kinn and his father, etc. I think it will be OK if they can avoid the silliness. Either that or go really OTT with it.

I don't know how to say... But I'm falling in love with this series. Sometimes it's cringe, at first I didn't…
I get it. It is very cringey at times, sometimes a bit too much, like Toh's awkwardness, which gets a little tiresome (because everyting takes him 15 minutes to say), but there are a lot of compensating elements. Like this is one of the only BLs were the leads actually seem to be physically attracted to each other, which is a surprise - Toh is so "rainbows and unicorns" I thought he'd be yet another 12-year old Victorian virgin uke, but nope, he gets a massive hardon whenever Nuea touches him, and vice versa. Also, Jao's poor body image is an interesting and relatable issue - in short, it's full of tropes and cliches, but it also goes in unusual and refreshing directions. And it's often very funny.

The beginning was kind of bad - too ridiculous and trying too hard. Where the series shines is in the character moments - I hope this is where this concentrates. The acting is quite good - too early to tell for Mile, because he's a stereotype now, but I'm sure he'll be fully realized as the series progresses. Kinn's dad is as first-rate as ever and the brother was a standout. The awful uncle was very-well acted too, giving some complexity to what could have been a 2D character. Apo is charming as Kinn, except for when he's trying to be cool, when he comes off as a douche, but that's the writing, not the acting.

I wish for just once we could do without a silly trans character - just once (well, there was 3 Will B Free - a rare exception).

Anyway, not blown away by the first ep, but there's plenty here with great potential, and we haven't even had any Jeff Satur yet.

Plus, if So really does have a terminal illness it's awful of his mother to want him to stay out of relationships…
I agree with all that. It may be that they're moving abroad, in which case what his mother said makes more sense, but it's still very strange advice to give a young man.

You are not nitpicking, you are being sensible. The plot has been ridiculous, the scripts tacky but we still watch…
Long ago I was in the wedding of a friend - which was held outdoors in the afternoon in August near Phoenix, Arizona. It's a desert, but there is actually a "monsoon season" where it's extremely humid, due to all the irrigation, swimming pools, etc. It was 115 F/46 C and I had to wear a 3-piece tux, which was at least white except the vest. That was easily the most miserable experience of my life. It cooled down to 102/39 at night. Another of our friends is morbidly obese - something like 350 lbs/160 kg, and I think he sweat his entire body weight. The consolation was the guy getting married was a jock and so were all his friends, so lots of hot shirtless boys after the ceremony. Although I was so exhausted and it was still so hot I retreated to my room and fell asleep on an airconditioning vent and couldn't enjoy the pool party.

An actual gay Hollywood wedding dinner would be a lot different than your friend is imagining - first of all, Hollywood is an urban area, so you're either doing it in a hotel or in a private residence - if the latter, you're probably not wearing much at all (except protection, if you know what I mean).

Problem is that Keptawan is loveable, but seems not entirely all there upstairs.
LOL, probably true. In the original Country Boy he entertained his city-boy guests by having them do his chores, which was an adventure for them.
