Yeeeeaaaaaahhh the way the somehow managed to weirdly wrestle in such a way that they somehow ended up both falling…
Open heart surgery at least has a heart involved. This was more like having a tumor removed from your colon.

Sigh. After his small role in Something In My Room, Green was catapulted into my favorite BL actors category, and Chap is extremely hot. I thought in Y-Destiny that Tae Chayapat was the weak link in the pairing, but he's gone on to be great in You're My Sky, whereas Chap seems very one-note. If you're going to have an asshole to nice guy story arc, you either have to cast someone who can put sympathetic shading into his character or not write someone who is so loathesome that you hope he dies and never gets his man.

Nobody who has any decency in them will ever mistreat service people, who are totally powerless against them. Nawee's behavior is unforgivable.

And the BL obsession with accidental kisses has reached a new low with this episode. That was so utterly ridiculous that I completely gave up on this. I feel bad for Green, who deserves better than this. Even the Jeff Satur OST is annoying in this - it's like they asked him "write a generic copy version of your standard love ballad. You only need to write two bars because we're going to play them over and over until the entire audience commits seppuku to escape it."

After episode 2 I must say I'm disappointed. This series feels like a Lamborghini (the actors) with the engine…
More like a Trabant.

I couldn't make it through the first part. Is it supposed to be sexy to non-stop phyically intimidate your partner? If he did it once it might be OK, but it's all throughout every scene they're in. It's weird, creepy, and worse, boring as f@$#. Who writes this shit? There is nothing relatable about these characters, and I can't connect with any of them. It feels like I'm watching a father-daughter incest story.

The preview for this looked awesome, but what a horrible disappointment. Max and Zee are two of my favorites, but I can't sit through this even for them.

why do they keep adding these weird ass sounds every two seconds?? I had a problem with this in lovely writer…
I wanted to poke out my eardrums with Lovely Writer. I'm starting to get desensitized to it now, and there are so many other things about this series that are more annoying, like all the characters and writing.

Why will liking plushies make someone look like a kid? I mean I'm 24 and i like plushies to a point that i have…
I realize it's due to socialization, but it's very weird for a grown man. I have a sentimental attachmnt to my childhood stuffed animals, but they're in a box in the attic.

I'm so bored with Lian hovering over Kuea and not actually doing anything. Also very bored with how infantilized…
Totally agree. TBH, this is nearly unwatchable. I normally think Zee is sex on a stick, but in this he's creepy and annoying. And Kuea is an annoying little brat.

I agree about it being slow-moving, and yet I've also found it repetitive and too quick. Seriously, NOW Mork realized…
That's also a good point. Mork is outraged that Por is cheating on Tawan, yet he appears to be trying to score someone who's in a relationship. It doesn't make a lot of emotional sense. I think Tawan is a bit naive and innocent, but someone giving you a box of actual hearts is hard to misinterpret. Well, to be fair, there are two options: a) he's in love with you or b) he's a serial killer. Run! Run away!

Not / Nadia and her barista were the book side couple. This one feels unnecessary and like they have 45 extra…
OK, that makes me wonder if the author actually knows any gay guys. What a man looks like has absolutely nothing to do with how masculine or feminine their personality is - that's actually a little offensive.

But that would still have been better.
On You're My Sky Mar 12, 2022
What happened to this series? Up until Ep 8 it was one of the best I've seen, but it never recovered from the time jump, and now they're doing an even bigger one.

You know what this feels like to me? Have you ever had a bunch of balloons, but they're old and withered, and you need to get rid of them so you pop them, but you don't get a pop, they just delfate sadly? That's this series. The time jump drained all the energy.

In Ep 10, there was only one scene that had that "oompf", and I think you all know which one (hint: it was the Dome & Vee scene).

I feel like a deflated balloon myself after watching this ep.

2 eps in and I find this very boring... sigh. Should I continue? Does it get better?
I'm not sure how to answer that. From ep 3-8 it's one of the best series ever made, IMO - but 9 & 10 have lost something. I'd wait until it's over and see what everyone thinks.

For me, I understood that he broke up with Vee's sister during the time ellipsis between episode 8 and 9 as he…
That is correct. For some reason they did a time jump and Dome broke up with her offscreen. I think this was a big mistake - the series deflated like a sad balloon.

I am so confused so did Dome break up with Vee sister or not? He is cheating ass or not?
There was a time jump between Ep 8 & 9. Dome broke up with Pan offscreen, which is why it was confusing.

That's fair about Yoon, although I thought his chemistry with Lay Talay in YYY was really sizzling, although that series certainly wasn't for everyone.

But I liked your analysis of the romance between Mork and Tawan - I think that's a failing in a lot of BL - the emphasis is so stuck on inorganic romantic moments, like some random person bumping into one of them, who stumbles into the other in a convoluted way that leaves their faces three inches apart and they stare at each other until they turn gay, which usually takes 17 hours. So it's not just romantic set-pieces, it's externally supplied romantic moments, which are meaningless, and actually a bit homophobic, as if the characters wouldn't notice each other if they weren't forced to. As if Fluke's smile can't be seen in the dark from 10 km away.

In contrast, this ep's romance was internally motivated - Mork's romantic gesture was something he wanted to do and he did it on purpose. It was really weird, but I liked it, or Tawan's reciprocation, which said a lot about him - he did something for Mork, but also made it about his friends.

Wait, in the book, the Nadia character was a guy?!? Why on earth would they change that for a BL? That is bizarre. Nobody watche BL for straight romance - it's actually mildly irritating when they have them - it's not like there's any shortage of straight romances - can we just have one genre for us?

"I don't think it hits Where Your Eyes Linger level." There was one very short, very awkward, sort-of kiss during…
I don't think WYEL is vastly superior, just slightly. Some of the story themes in it are used a lot, but not in BL, and having an uke that was just as manly as the seme was definitely something different, and
Jang Eui Soo's character was something we really hadn't seen.

In SE the uke is a more assertive personality than usual, but it leans really heavily on the trope - and there have been 100 times more college student stories in BL than gangster stories - Trapped was a cop and a gangster, which was original and I think it was better than both of these, but it also had much more time to tell a story.

I don't think I have a much different opinion than you - I would give this a 9 and WYEL a 9.25. The technical production quality of SE is probably higher, but its budget is also higher, and the technical details, while important, aren't as important as directing, acting, and cinematography, which I thought was more artiful in WYEL. Acting was about the same, I thought.

SE was an excellent adaptation of a story that isn't that easy to adapt, so it gets points for that - but I wish BL could stop adapting things and write more original screenplays. Written media are totally different from visual and nothing adapted can really match something written from the start as a visual project.

If you want to see a guy with low self-esteem to prevail, there's Secret Crush on You. Does Mon have low self-esteem,…
Got it. I do really like So's character - actually I like all the characters except Mon. I thought it was Mon and Saint that were rivals for So, which is a no-brainer for me, but if it's So vs Saint, then I'd have to be "Team So & Saint both get tired of Mon and get busy with each other."

You mean you're sticking around hoping they'll eventually have some?
I think Akk is providing it - not sure about Theo. It might not be his fault - the excessive soft filter they use on him obscures all his facial expressions.

Being jealous of Van Gogh is probably the funniest idea any Bl writer has ever had. Much funnier than being jealous…
That was quite good - the humor in this is great, I just wish Jao were the main character and not Toh, who is so annoying that it's hard to believe Nuea would like him.

I am watching Episode 7 right now and I really can’t understand why Mork is not telling Tawan that his boyfriend…
He can't bear to see Tawan hurting. Also, doing that almost always backfires, because the other person is often not ready to hear it so they reject the messenger. But he should also stop giving counter-explanations. Tawan can probably forgive that he said nothing, but they way he's behaving almost sounds like he's covering for Dr. Por.
