i have to agree with you and all those people who said the drama has lost its momentum after awhile. yes i still…
I agree - and I'm still enjoying the series a lot, but it needs to move on from doing the same thing over and over - the way Aoki's personality is, you can't rush him and remain true to his character, and now they'll have to.
I haven't read the novel or manga (don't know which it is) that this is based. So only going off the show. But…
It may get violent if the final conflict is caused by Wai - it feels like it's headed there, rather than it being the parents, and that would follow the play. On the other hand, it looks like he's into Pa.
I still really like this series, but a little less each episode. From what I gather, they're skipping a lot that was in the Manga - but they appear to be keeping in things that are very similar to each other and this is getting really repetitive and predictable - like I know exactly what Aoki and Ida will do in any given situation, the facial expression, exclamation of embarassment, etc.
Slow-burn is great. Slow running around in circles not so great. It's gotten to the point that I enjoy watching the episodes, but I don't excitedly wait for them anymore. The edit from discussing what type of film it is to immediately after was really funny and cute.

Most of the characters do have counterparts, though - even that teacher as Prince Escalus, I think Pa might be Friar Laurence - we'll have to wait till later to see. If she has a plan to get the boys together, then she is. Wai being smitten by Pa doesn't really fit, but they obviously can't faithfully follow the play or everyone has to die.
I laughed at that too. And him offering the rooster as a possible subject for Phap to draw 😂
The way they were staring at it, I thougt we would cut to a scene of them eathing chicken for breakfast, but instead the made it a magical egg-laying rooster.

Thinking about it some more, I think Wai is Tybalt and Pa is Mercutio - she's more of a voice of reason. On the other hand, Tybalt threatens Romeo, and in Ep 5 that could have been a tragedy.
Plus Wai is clearly the principal antagonist, which points to him being Tybalt.
i was a huge shooter for wai since he always seemed like a great friend who always has prans back, but this episode…
I took the guilt trip as just friendly teasing - it was so OTT that he couldn't have been serious. I still want to slap him, but not for that. About the rest, it was always Romeo's & Juliet's frinds that kept setting off crises by not controling their tempers, so it kind of needs to be there.
I love this show immensely but the editing of this ep, and the time jump cuts are not doing the story any favor,…
I thought the time jumps were clever. I agree about the product placement, but they have to finance these series some way. and it's kind of funny how they tried to integrate them into the story, although I'm not sure I would have taken on a makeup company as a sponsor for a BL.

I guess that makes sense. I always think of Mercutio as fun-loving and witty, but I guess he also had a temper.
It doesn't feel to me that they're going with the seme/uke thing in this series, and I sincerely hope they don't start. Just for once it would be nice to have a romance between two guys instead of 19th c archetypes of dashing hero and teen virgin.
That is the first time in a BL that I've ever seen a man carry another man the realistic way. Although it is completely impossible for someone to be so drunk that they think they're talking to someone else. Maybe for a second, or from behind, but not for an hour. They should have had him keep his eyes closed, because that was silly.
I will say that I laughed out loud that Maze's reaction was "your rooster is useless!" instead of a normal person's "what the f#$% is a rooster doing in here?"
