Well, he's tall and attractive, so that's probably the answer. But I agree, he's been boring so far, and the writing of everything surrounding him was crap.

Title Gen Y Season 2 Spoiler
I personally don't have that mush issue with Thanu/Wayu as I do with Thanu/Phai, but for me the biggest issue…
I'm not sure what Thanu did wrong other than be kind of boring. He couldn't make a move on Wayu because he promised Pha to take care of him, and so that would be a betrayal. And Phai was underage, so he couldn't go there, either. I feel bad for him that everyone he loved was off-limits. To me, Wayu is the most boring character ever to grace a BL - he's written to have no agency - he just sits around having things happen to him and depends on a man to protect and guide him. What's the point of having a m/m romance if you're going to write one of them as a Victorian-era pre-teen girl? I think he's the embodiment of everything that's wrong with the seme-uke dynamic. Mark and Kit, on the other hand, are kind of a refreshing variation on the theme, with the uke being older and more in control.

I'm rooting for a Sandee/Phai happy ending. Maybe they can have a psychic connection too and recall their past…
Maybe he went out to go buy a refreshing bottle of tea he could drink at an awkward moment and he got lost.

Maybe I'm answering my own question because I don't even remember the reveal about their past. I just remember Thanu's big dark eyes and some thing about a piece of paper with an arrow on it or something.
On Gen Y Season 2 Dec 20, 2021
Why is everyone so hostile about Wayu and Thanu? I don't understand. And I don't mean "I don't understand how y'all can't like them", I'm genuinely not understanding what the issue is. Is it a leftover feeling from 2Moons or something? Last season was a little confusing because the theme of this seems to be drawing the difference between first love and life-partner love, and BLs don't usually do that, but isn't that a good thing?

It's OK. A little too cliche for my tastes, but iy certainly has an attractive cast.

Same. Although there was a glimpse of shirtless Drake in the credits, so now I'm here for that, too.

No matter how smart white is and he is…it is impossible for him to have adapted to the situation cos it was…
BB isn't a comedy. It's a romantic drama with some comedic elements in it. Have you watched it? The confrontation and roof scene in Ep 5 was high drama. Not Me is about a college student who replaces his wayward twin brother in a motorcycle gang. The premise is complelely ridiculous and if it's meant to be taken seriously, then it's a miserable failure as the subject of a drama. If it's supposed to be taken as a fun ride action story, then it's a great idea.

I think we cannot compare bad buddy and not me series.. because these are two different paced BL series.....bad…
It's about a college student that replaces his wild twin in a motorcycle gang. How is that serious? Bad Buddy is also about issues, like social acceptance, self-acceptance, duty to family vs. the self, etc. You can compare anything, really. Comparative opinions on the type of story are a matter of personal preference and not very useful, but cinematography, directing, acting, editing, production design, realism, quality of writing, etc. are all comparable. That's why I limited my criticism to very specific things.

All I've said is the unrealistic fire took me out of the story, and the exposition is clumsy. Other than that I like it. So far it's good. From the first two episodes, it doesn't look like it's on the same level as BB in most criteria.

Title Not Me
No matter how smart white is and he is…it is impossible for him to have adapted to the situation cos it was…
He ran into a burning building and promptly fainted, then other people had to risk their lives to save him. That's pretty useless. If you want to bake a cake and burn down the kitchen, then you're probably useless for baking cakes even if you really, really want to.

Regarding BB, the plot outline is Romeo & Juliet, but the dialogue is new, and it's sharp and well done. Not Him isn't exactly an original plot (although it certainly is for a BL!) - every soap ever made has a twin substitution, although it's usually the evil one taking the place of the good one.

I guess for me this coupling is a bit "been there done that", and Ohm and Nanon are fresh and have larger acting toolkits. I don't see how the production is superior for this - they're about the same, with BB edging this out in directing. I'm really interested in the secondary couple, and I like Sing in this - I hope his role is substantial and not just an expository device. I suspect he's evil, which would be a nice twist, but we'll see.

In that case, BL medicine must make you crazy. In BL, a moist towel can cure cancer.

Title Not Me
No matter how smart white is and he is…it is impossible for him to have adapted to the situation cos it was…
He's just too wimpy - if he's that fragile and emotional, it's not really credible that he decided to do this in the first place. I know BL audiences like useless ukes and semes to take care of them, but it's a little silly in this context. What was his plan? To just wander into a motorcycle gang without even knowing how to ride? If he's not smart (he's book smart, not practical smart) enough to figure things out, he should have prepared better in advance. He might has well have carried a sign reading "I'm not Black! I'm an imposter!"

The show isn't bad - I'm enjoying it. But I've already more or less given up that the writing will be great. But not everything can be Bad Buddy.

For me, this "fire" thing is such a small thing. What bothered me more was the fact that Dan fainted (why?) and…
I actually commented on that But I erased it because I was getting too long-winded. Dan was wearing a filter mask, which was plenty to protect him long enough to get out, but he fainted sooner than a little wimp with only a bandana.

Title Not Me
I don't know... that whole fire scene was so unrealistic it took me out of the story. There's no way Dan wouldn't notice there was a blazing inferno behind the door. Even if he has non-existent senses of smell and hearing, the doorknob would have been burning hot and the heat from behind the door would be intense.

The premise of the series is ridiculous, but I'm totally fine with it - BLs have evil twins, twin-connection and ghosts, no big deal. But people still need to act like people and fire still needs to act like fire.

There's also a lot of awkward exposition. It's tough to write a story like this, but it might have been better to make White really smart and able to figure things out, but they're making him another uber-uke so he's totally useless unless you need someone to cry all day.

Prediction: Todd is evil. I have no evidence or foreknowledge, but something seems off to me. Also, Sing and Off have both gotten really handsome.

I actually threw up my hands at the beginning of the last episode and gave up on the series. I went back and finished it to write this review, but the same crisis and revolution is presented every episode, so you could stop at the end of the camping trip and not miss anything.

All of this. After the camping episode, the show became pretty monotonous.
That's exactly where it stopped working for me, too. I suspect this is not a popular opinion. :)
On My Love Mix-Up! Dec 18, 2021
The first 2 minutes of this ep were so tiresome I didn't even bother to finish. This is one of the most disappointing series I've seen in a long time - from one I was super-excited about to one that was the same episode over and over again with the same repetitive Aoki freakout and running in circles. Was the manga better than this?

I hate this series, even thought it's easily the best thing airing right now. It's so awkward and painful to watch that I have to take breaks every five minutes, and there are scenes that are too much for me and I have to skip them, like when they first meet again in college. It's torture. But so well-written and made.
