Was it just me that burst out laughing when Epoy revealed what his sudden health problem was? I was expecting brain cancer or leukemia. I get that they didn't want to go too dark, but wow. If they wanted to make his problem a little more serious, it could have gone like this:
"I'm very sick."
"OMG. What's wrong?!?"
"I have a hangnail."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Anyway, I think there are three problems with this series. The script is not good. It wanders all over the place and needed a lot more discipline and to link the stories together better - and build up to issues rather than springing them out of nowhere.
Second, the directing drains all the energy out of the production, not to mention the actors. Meet My Angel was terrible in most regards, but the acting, especially Kaleb's, was spectacular - maybe the best single performance in a BL of all time. Here, he's... there. In My Chinito Prince, Axl was compelling and sexy - here he's... there.
And the editing. This really let them down.
The technical qualities of the production like sound weren't great, but they were above average for a DIY like this and adequate.
This looks guuud. Wow, so sensual - almost too much for BL! I loved that people looked like they were in relationships and phyiscally attracted to each other, and it didn't hurt that everyone eas so physically attractive! I'm cautiously optimistic, which is about as optimistic as I get these days.
For some reason Do Gun looked a lot more attractive in Ep 4. That mint-green sweater really suited him, and he has a nice smile.Jung Woo has the unfair advantage of having a perfect everything, but it was less imbalanced this ep.
I really like this - I enjoy that they're two guys and fairly equal instead of Seme and Uke (which is an acromyn for Useless Klutz Extraordinaire).
Did Ron Angeles run over the cat of every producer in Manila? Why is he always some rejected side character when he's such a compelling screen presence? Imagine if he were playing Jethro.
Anyway, I'm still having trouble buying Mario as an adult, and Jethro is still not very likeable. I'm not sure what they were thinking with this series - and I'm not sure I see the point to it.
I'm happy at least that Mario managed some simple cooking without cutting himself.
I actually completely lost interest in this series this ep. Every single scene is totally predictable and this was just a bunch of lame BL tropes stapled together. It's a pity - I was enjoying this until now, but I couldn't even finish this ep.
OK, the second trailer made me a little less onboard. It looked like a checklist of tropes. Hopfully they put all of them from the entire series in the trailer. Blow-dry hair? Check. (BTW, has anyone in the entire history of humanity had anyone but a hair stylist blow-dry their hair past the age of like five?) Rear hug of someone trying to storm out of a room? Check. (incidentally, if I wanted to leave a room in anger, if someone did that I'd probably react Not Well).
However, the cast is exceptional, so I'll go against official policy and maintain expectations of a good show.
Oh. Sorry, I'm a bit slow on the uptake today. Yes, when you equate things of much different severity, you risk diminishing people's perspective on the seriousness of more heinous things. Rape is a crime. Adjusting someone's apron is not. If he'd said "don't touch me" and he didn't stop, then we'd have something to talk about.
Friends of mine established a throuple some years ago. It held for about 2 years. They were not that close that…
Well, I enjoy reading your posts and interacting with you, and even guys like great personalities - or at least guys with great personalities do. Plus, if you like someone, you'll find something about them that you find attractive. I'm sure there are guys physically attracted to aspects of yourself thaat you never even think about.
im suuuuuuper wary of love triangles......theyre just never done right, butim not completely against the idea.…
It's not a spoiler to say yes, it's a triangle - it's in the title! I get your wariness - that trope is usually really tiresome, but this is done well and worth watching. The rivals care about each other and there's no viciousness - they're kind of sweet to each other. In fact, by ep 3 you might be hoping for either a thruple or for the rivals to ditch the third guy and get together themselves.
There are actual scenes that resemble the ad photo above - it's cute.
I'm one of the ones hoping they end up in a throuple. ππ€ I think their dynamic together is cute and they…
I think it will be Mix & Match based on just their names. (Mix & Match is an expression, for anyone who isn't a native speaker.)
Ryu & match doens't have the same ring to it. But the actor playing Ryu was also in Gen Y - he showed up in the last scene, so he'll be important in S2.
In my opinion, no, especially if your ID reflects your tastes, because this doesn't come close to ITSAY. However, if you like Boss, he's totally amazing in it. I think Oxygen is dull and pointless with no charisma or chemisty in the main couple, and there's no actual plot. It's just two guys hanging out with one of them having serious jealousy issues.
So by the end I was ff through all their scenes to get to Boss's couple. and the Fujoshi's storyline is beyond tiresome - even the series' most ardent defenders loathed it. So I might try watching the first ep, and if you like the main pair a lot, then it's basically like that all the way through, so maybe the series will work for you. If you don't really like them, maybe ff through everything but Phu & Kao (Boss), who are a joy to watch.
Oh there are alot of japanese BLs that are not centered around school kids like pornographer, method, mood Indigo…
ITSAY is tough - it has 4, 8, 9, 10, & 11, but not the rest, and a couple of them were only there weakly. I think it's on the border leaning into the "not-BL" side.
"I'm very sick."
"OMG. What's wrong?!?"
"I have a hangnail."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
