I would NEVER be a part of a polyamorous relationship, but if this series ain't gonna be about the three of them…
I'm with you, but I'll settle for a threesome.
On My Mate Match Oct 9, 2021
I've only watched the first 30 seconds of this so far, but I had to come here and rant and rave that FINALLY, someone set their alarm for the time they wanted to get up instead of 30 minutes later so that they have to shout "shit!" and get ready in a panic. I'll bet his phone is even password protected.

As I said before, I guess it'll turn out like "The Shore". But whereas that series was clumsily told and obvious…
Yes, it respects the audience, which is a rarity. You'd think someone would notice that all of the best BLs are like that. Someday they'll accept that we can follow a story with out it being 90% flashbacks.

no but its wild that leo and fiat still dont have any chemistry in the kiss scenes ??leon and pob on the other…
I think it's Ja, TBH. I find him a lot more attractive than First, but you can feel he doesn't want to be there. They should have him take lessons with Smart, because oh my God.

Formulaic right down to Leo's necklace falling in Fiat's mouth every time they go to kiss...
I still think that would be terrible, metal in your mouth is like fingernails on a chalkboard - especially if it touches your teeth.

What? It's about two guys baking brownies and getting it on. Where did you get didatic morality play out of that?
I'm with you there - a couple of times I've asked "am I watching a light romance or am I in Sunday School?" Romances by their nature are already valuing lasting love over "fun", so hitting the audience over the head with it is tiresome. Pinoy BL seems to have some of the best and worst series. This one is mediocre. But Jack's body is insane and he doesn't ever seem to have a shirt on, so there's that.

I can't disagree with anything here, but romance movies and series are generally not very realistic - nobody wants to watch people arguing over clothing left on the floor or using the toilet when your SO is in the room (although I can't do that - I'm poo-shy).

I've only seen the first two eps, but it looks like the story is about two guys who have a one-nighter - one views it as such, the other wants more. If you think back to when you were that age, that's pretty much a universal gay experience. Obviously they'll fall in love because it's a romance.

I have never yet met a gay man who is waiting for true love to have sex - maybe today's youth are doing that, but in my day, waiting until after dinner on your first date was showing unusual restraint.

I don't bother with the love scenes between Leo and Fiat anymore. They look 100% choreographed and the actors…
In the special ep, Fiat, the captain of the basketball team, trips while going down 3 steps. That more or less symbolizes where this has gone. Fiat is totally useless and incapable of adult life without close supervision. He can't even have conversations with his own family members without Leo's oversight.

I think what happened was that in TT2 he was pursuing Type, who is an uke, so he was written as seme-ish. Now he's with Leo, who's about as seme as seme can get, so Fiat has become the Über-uke.

I think I will pass on this. Seems like it is a didactic morality play. I could be wrong.

Can someone tell me why every single person in a BL that's ever set an alarm has for some reason set if for way past the time they needed to get up? Is not one single BL character able to operate a phone? Is this related to the inability to password protect their devices?

Jill is too ridiculous in his oggling. I can understand being nervous around someone that hot, but come on. Anyway, other than the word "vegan" obviously meaning something different in the Philippines, this is not terrible, and Jack is not hard to look at.

No Jill, you can't use eggs to make vegan brownies... Omg, I can't help thinking about all those vegan people…
That was really funny. That's like my mother. "I made vegetarian pea soup for you." I eat it. "Are those chunks of ham in there?" "Yes, but just small ones."

I love this show, but I'm getting confused. Who is that other couple in the still shots? I think the one in the sweater is the psychologist. I'm trying to imagine how they'll tie this up in a single 20-minute episode. But anyway, the acting in this is superb and the cinematography first-rate. And the writing and music are fantastic. This is for me the best BL on right now by a wide margin. And Blake Cheng is so hot.

I don't know if you've already watched it or not, but I think it's the best thing airing right now, by a decent margin. There's not a lot of competition, but still, this is really good. The acting is first rate, and the cinematography is fantastic. The story is different and interesting - no engineers or high school kids.

The actors aren't really given much to do in general - First had the thing with his mother where he got to act, but other than that Fiat just sulks and pouts and Leo stands around looking cool and supervising Fiat's every activity. I'm surprised the actors have put as much energy into this as they have.

Title Don't Say No
It was interesting that both couples had intimate scenes, and Leo & Fiat's was quite a bit more explicit, but it was Leon & Pob that were on fire. I watched again with a critical eye to see why one couple was so dull and the other so hot. It's not looks. Ja and First are gorgeous.

I think it's stiffness. Leo and Fiat always have at least a foot of empty space between their bodies, even when Leo is laying on top of Fiat. He looks like he's planking, not making love. It reduces the chemistry to zero when you can see the actors really, really don't want to touch each other. When First and James kissed they pressed their bodies together, and whatever First's shortcomings as an actor, he can definitely do desire. Even the way he snuggled up afterwards was really authentic.

There's also some formulaicism - Leo & Fiat have the same love scene over and over. Leo says something about how he won't be able to control himself, Fiat gives him a "bitch please" look, and Leo at some point grabs Fiat's hand and pins it somewhere beside his head.

Maybe it's also that Leon is younger and less controlled than Pob and their relationship isn't written like wet-cardboard D/s. I like that Pob is innocent and inexperienced but not weak. Whereas Fiat can't tie his shoes without Leo.

Anyway, it's chemistry. I don't know where Ja & First's went. Maybe the actors are confused by the total lack of plot and can't get into their characters.

Felt the exact same way. I thought this was the best story so far, but also the worst romance. I was really enjoying…
That's an excellent summation of what I felt. For the reasons you mentioned, they should have left out the BL completely, or hinted it's something that could develop later as a result of their shared experience.

Well, Santa seems to have actively pursued association with Earth, so it seems reasonable to speculate - if he were just trying to worm his way into the industry, he could have picked someone more prominent, or a director. It might not be a coincidence that that was the best hug I've seen in a BL - he wasn't afraid of full-body contact - no 1 foot of air between their bodies.

I was just watching an interview with Mon Hatsawatchon, talking about My Friendship, which has a lot of sex in it, and he said "this film was very difficult for me" - I was expecting him to go into the usual "as a straight guy, having to kiss man is eww" routine, but instead he said "the director wouldn't let me take my clothes off, so I had to portray the passion with only facial expressions." Now that's a trooper. And a great actor. (And super cute.)
