You are really merciless with Sandee. She had just performed in a very emotional play and had a conversation with her dead mother, and you think that's an appropriate time to discuss Ken's love life? And then he ignored her for two weeks so she had no opportunity to talk to him about it. She went silent at the theater because Shake knows nothing about her ability to see spirits or other deeply personal things she can discuss with Ken but absolutely not in front of someone she doesn't know.

You are also not using the word "concern" consistently. It the sentence YOU used, "it isn't your concern" it means "a matter of interest or importance to someone", NOT "worry about". Friends are by definition "a matter of interest or importance" to each other, otherwise you're not friends.

And no, it doesn't happen that you abandon your closest friends when you start dating someone unless you're self-centered. Maybe for a day or two here and there, but not 2 entire weeks. You share your joy with your friends, and you depend on them for their advice and to help you understand how you feel by talking about things.

And where did I ever say Shake posted the photos to be malicious? The point is that Sandee had no way of knowing that Shake intended them to be private because he posted them so that all of Ken's friends could see them.

How is it possible to be that incompetent with the subtitles? For ep 11 they were much more comprehensible, but were several MINUTES out of synch with the visuals, and running fast so there was no point to watching. Unbelievable.

In your phrase "it isn't your concern", this doesn't mean concerned as in "I'm concerned that Ken is driving without his glasses on". It means "a matter of interest or importance to someone." If you didn't mean it that way, it wasn't clear.

We know what Sandee SHOULD have done, I'm saying she did a very wrong thing but it's understandable (as opposed to justified) and properly motivated in the narrative to make sense for her character, and is redeemable and forgivable. Eventually.

Remember that Sandee was not able to talk about any of this with Ken because he ignored her for two weeks, which is not as wrong as what she did, but this is not an acceptable way to treat your best friend.

And, a mitigating factor is that the photos were posted on a public platform, so it's not like she stole them out of Shake's phone. He didn't mean to make them viewable, but she has no way of knowing that, so it probably also felt like Shake was grinding her face into the ground. Also, if they were seen by all of Ken's FB friends, it's almost certain to have gotten back to Ken's mother regardless. But probably AFTER the sex, and Sandee deserves public execution for depriving us of that.

This thread is getting disturbingly misogynist. Sandee is heartbroken and Ken's mother is in shock. Sometimes people do the wrong thing. In this case a very wrong thing.

I think it IS her concern and business because they're best friends and share everything. Ken's ghosting her for 2 weeks was cruel - if you've talked to someone every day since early childhood this is pure asshole behavior.

I was probably more touchy with mine - we would lie wrapped around each other for hours, but never did anything overtly gay like kissing.

She didn't become a bitch, she's heartbroken, aggravated by Ken's cruelty in cutting her off. She did an evil thing, but that doesn't make her an "awful bitch", which is a bit strong. When you're that age, that kind of heartbreak is all-consuming and so painful you think your life is over.

I don't know how old you are, but have you ever been heartbroken at Sandee's age? It feels like your world is ended and you don't have the perspective to know the pain will fade. Ken has made it much worse by ghosting her for two weeks, which really sucks if you've talked to someone every day for your entire life.

I understand Ken - it's much harder to come out to people you've known all your life than it is to new friends. I was completely out to everyone within a week of beginning college - but only with everyone at college, not my old friends at home. So as he's going through this it's difficult for him to talk about it with Sandee, so he's avoiding her.

I also understand Sandee - what she did was terrible and malicious, but I'm OK with it because she is a fully-drawn and realistic character, not a 2D cartoon villainess like in "standard" BLs.

The mother, however, is horrible. But even her response is realistic and consistent with her character.

I like your perspective on this. To me, though, there is so much BL now that I would rather there be a concentration on quality rather than quantity, or the BL "craze" could burn out. To me, there is no comparison in quality between GSP and Oxygen - but then GSP is aimed at me, and Oxygen is aimed at younger women & girls, which I am not, so there are different expectations. To me, cute and fluffy is pointless and boring, but to many of them, drama and depth is off-putting. That sounded condescending, but I don't mean it that way. Being a 14-year old girl is hard, and fluffy BL can be an energizing escape. I'm older, so more challenging dramas like GSP are a welcome diversion from the tedium of working life, whereas fluffy is annoying.

Got it. But my obsession is really WHY DO SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE OXYGEN!?!?!?!? and not so much over GSP. I can understand why people like Boy's Lockdown, which doesn't do much for me - but I can't for the life of me understand how anyone can like Oxygen...at least not for the main couple. It's like watching a carboard box romance a... well, another carboard box.

Wasn't the point that love does NOT transcend gender? They could only have a platonic relationship in the second half because Phop is gay and can't love a woman romantically. They took fairly drastic steps to get around that problem. If you just mean love in general, then sure, but there was a specific type of love between Dew & Phop that didn't work in the second half.

In Thai series the main couple is almost always upstaged by a side couple. Also, is Mr. Bean's couple even the main couple? I feel like Ongsah and North are - or is there even a main couple? But look at Oxygen - I've started fast-fowarding everything that's not PhuKao-related. Or My Engineer - did anyone care about the main couple even 10% as much as RamKing? Although the main couple was really funny - but I didn't feel the kilig. But anyway, I agree with you - Mr. Bean is a decent actor, but he's not compelling and a little too old to be credible as a college kid.

I guess that's a good point. You can't take everything in a BL too seriously. Like, if you're seeing and talking to a ghost, you should probably seek professional help, not have sex with it.

I totally agree with you too! Hello Stranger has a misunderstanding related to one of them being with someone else, but it's about the main character accepting himself before he can accept someone's love - it has some real pain in it, but the resolution for him is worth it. Gameboys is good because it's the first BL I can think of that has a real LGBTQ+ sensibility, but it does have a lot of jealousy misunderstandings, which turned me off, but I'm in a minority. Please watch Gaya sa Pelikula - it's the highest-quality BL I've seen - you have to pay attention though as it has a lot of layers. Filipino BLs are easy to follow, because the characters fall in and out of English, so even if the subtitles aren't the greatest (and they're generally better than on Thai shows), you don't need them as much.

I think with Oxygen they told the Solo actor to never have facial expressions, which doesn't work in a live-action show. It just makes him look like he's botoxed to within an inch of his life and half-asleep. For the other actor, it's hard to have chemistry with a mannequin. I do enjoy the PhuKao pairing, but they're in it so little it's better to wait until the show is over and either FF through everything else or hope for a PhuKao cut. MGYG isn't terrible, but it doesn't offer anything new or interesting, and it's starting to get boring and repetitive - I'm hoping it will improve after high school like you said. But even the title tells you it's a rehash of tired BL cliches. Does anyone in Thailand study anything but engineering and medicine? At least 2Gether made Music an option, so you can choose one of 3 majors now.
